Saturo, feel free to mock his lack of PvP abilities if the only way he can get kills is to ambush people. lol.

Re: Crappy Groups
I use the Dungeon Finder tool to level fast. I found the dungeons between 52 and 60 unpleasant. Why? Brand new Death Knights, a lot of them thinking they can tank. I explained to many that they should wait to tank, and went over strategy with them. I think it mostly fell on deaf ears. It was awful being a hunter because they'd die, or couldn't hold aggro, and I'd be next on the list. A lot of them were jerks, too.
For example, one time I in a dungeon with a bad Death Knight tank. I was giving advice to help out. We'd already wiped a lot on a dungeon I usually had no problem with. We beat a boss just barely. A mail piece dropped, the one I had been working towards. He needs on it and I ask why he did that. No response. I notice him Needing on everything that drops and I Need it myself to counter him. He wins everything. He then pulls a group onto us and then leaves. I wish I could say it was a one-time thing.
Oh, what else is annoying... People who get impatient with the tank and start pulling. Tanks who rag on the DPS. I had one in Zul'Farrak who, the whole time, bragged about how leet his DPS was compared to us. He wasn't specced or equipped to be a tank. When I asked why he was still wearing mail at 45, he said it improved his agility. The whole time was spent with us going back and forth. I hate doing that. But, as DPS, I didn't want to wait for another tank. I don't get why people give lectures to others and belittle them. So many times I've seen people complain about a "fail tank" or "fail DPS" even though they're getting through just fine.
To balance things out I had a hunter at my level still wearing a lot of leather. I talked to her after the group and asked what was up. She said the pet would hold off all the aggro so she didn't need armor. Also, her weapons where really low- level 45 at level 61. I asked why she didn't need a great gun that just dropped. She said she couldn't train for guns yet. I told her they were at weapons masters. She said "I know" and left. It ruined my excitement about seeing another hunter in the group.
I try to be patient and helpful in groups. I try to stick things out after many people have left. I give people the benefit of the doubt. PUGs try my patience sometimes though.
Thanks guys. That helped. Blackrock Depths still gives me nightmares though...

Re: Crappy Groups
Could she have been from an RP server? Maybe? Or.....this reminds me that I spent a very very very very long time convincing one of our casual hunters to be open to using guns. His hunter was a self-professed "bow hunter" and wouldn't use anything else, not even crossbows. Mind you, I prefer bows and crossbows to guns myself, but I use a gun when I have to.FlightofthePhoenix wrote:She said she couldn't train for guns yet. I told her they were at weapons masters. I'm not sure, but how does that make a difference? I am from an RP server and I was trained on guns at about level 20. I prefer bows but if I had to, I would. I guess the problem was more that she seemed to refuse help or to try to get better.

Re: Crappy Groups
That wasn't meant as a dig at RP players or servers in general. There are just some people out there from ANY server who like to RP or pseudo-RP their hunters with one type of weapon, period. Obviously, there are those who will adapt (like yourself) and those who won't. I was just asking if this was a case of "I know I can technically use that, but I'm choosing not to because it doesn't fit my character yet."FlightofthePhoenix wrote:I'm not sure, but how does that make a difference? Oh, I know it wasn't a dig. I was mor3e curious if you were implying technical differences between the servers. I've only been on RP so I don't know. WoW continues to surprise me.Kalliope wrote:

Re: Crappy Groups

I ticketed a GM when it still used bullets, he told me WORKING AS INTENDED.
/facepalm
anyways.
So we get, ofc, all the bosses but the ones I need in this run. The Darkcrystal ripoff boss ofc drops tanking cloak. Tank rolls for it...
DK rolls for it...
DK is from one of the pvp servers and is like lolz why should I give it back.
Then he's all gimme 10g.
Gimme 4g.
I could get that much for it vendoring it, gimme. Lolz.
/facepalm\

Re: Crappy Groups
I'd really like it if there's an hour of "punishment" for getting votekicked, during which you can queue for stuff. Plus, Blizz should add some sort of "return loot to corpse" thing, if the votekick reason is ninja. They are already adding "reasons" in the next patch, it wouldn't take a lot of work to remove the item from the player in question.
And lower the time we have to wait before votekicking someone too. Fifteen minutes is too much to just sit down and wait.
In short, I guess I dislike the random dungeon system. It forces us to do stupid stuff (occulus) with stupid people without getting rewards (the loot they ninja). It also took away a bit of the challenge of running dungeons, making the actual group. They are destroying the social part of the game.

Oh, no, it's the same on all servers. ^_^FlightofthePhoenix wrote:Oh, I know it wasn't a dig. I was mor3e curious if you were implying technical differences between the servers. I've only been on RP so I don't know. WoW continues to surprise me.Kalliope wrote:

@Ryai: Speaking as a person who comes from a PvP server, I can safely say that while there are a good number of assholes (there's no more polite way of saying it) on those servers, it's not everyone. There's a whole lot of nice people who play on them and who would never dream of doing anything like that. I've seen some REAL jerkwads from PvE servers as well, so the conclusion I've come to is that PvP servers just give people more opportunities to show off their inner asshole, but they're no worse than the rude people on PvE servers. Just running around on Nesingwary has revealed to me how cowardly and stupid people can be. The horde lowbie towns are pretty much constantly under attack here. It's not nearly that bad on my home server...on either faction.
They can't steal your bag in there. ^_^ Gogo free drake!Saturo wrote:In short, I guess I dislike the random dungeon system. It forces us to do stupid stuff (occulus) with stupid people without getting rewards (the loot they ninja).

Ooh, well, grats on that, at least!Saturo wrote:Got the drake on my second occulus after they implemented the bag. Removed my incentive to play trough the annoying place.
But yeah, even the promise of two extra badges and maybe an epic gem isn't enough to deal with real morons in that place. I tend to not have problems because I queue with the bf and other friends, so at least part of the group knows what it's doing at all times and is generally pretty geared.
Hopefully you don't queue in there that often. >_<

50% Occ (Instant leave)
33% HoL or HoS
17% Something fun.
Of the 17% Something fun, 50% includes retadins queueing as healers "cuz its faster".

Re: Crappy Groups
I mean I don't want to blacklist an entire server and I don't want to blacklist all players it's just, the aurg and frustration when several times in a row, you get people from a specific realm and they make you go head desk.

Re: Crappy Groups
There was a time that all I got was CoS. On any toon. Got it four times in a day once, on different toons.
I was kinda annoyed, lol.
And yeah, I know what you mean, Ryai. >_< My server is guilty of that too. -_- It goes without saying that we can't stand those bottomdwellers either. :/

Re: Crappy Groups
I wouldn't totally agree with that. I love the random dungeon system. Before on my mains, I could never get groups together. Whenever I tried to organize or join a dungeon run, something stupid inevitably happened before we even touched the instance (DC's, instance malfunctions, people need to leave, etc etc etc). With the new Random system I'm actually able to PLAY now, which is nice. Even if you do get stuck with stupid people now and again.Saturo wrote: In short, I guess I dislike the random dungeon system. SPEAKING of crappy groups...did a few runs today. In one, the paladin thought he was a super-tank and engaged SEVERAL trash packs at once in Gundrak. But he couldn't hold them. Srsly! I had to save the healer like five times because he wasn't doing it!
Not too long after that ran CoS. The tank held aggro at least, but was reckless (strained the poor healer), and needed on everything. When the Bronze Drake mount dropped he unhesitatingly Needed on it (we as a group didn't even get to discuss the rules on mount dropping or anything). I asked in party chat, "Since I don't have it, should I Need?" and the other three encouraged me to do so. Thankfully I got it, but man...what a pain in the butt.

Ninjas, tree healers that are spamming nourish and big heals, but no hots, multiple people standing behind onyxia, getting tailswiped into adds... dozens of people failing at onyxia. I've just about had it with pugging today >_<
I've noticed a bug in occ lately. I don't mind the instance, I think it's pretty easy. However, if the rest of the group leaves, you aren't able to loot your extra little gem/possible mount bag. Happened to me the other day, and a guildie today. =\
Re: Crappy Groups

What.
Basically he claimed HE DESERVED IT MORE FOR BEING A TWINK. I ofc lose the roll cause the game hates me, and seriously I needed it as I had a grey chest. So the anal retentive rogue friend of his spams laughs at me :/
So basically my advice is avoid any players from the 'Emerald Twinks' guild or whatever from Draenor. I never liked twinks but these two take the bloody cake.
