Re: Carrion : art and stories.
So here's a question to help me decide once I get back to my RP server with my main.... Which of these characters do you think would be the most interesting?
Carrion (origional topic character) - Night Elf with a giant blue vulture, quiet, collected, scavanger etc etc
Evaliir (below) - Blood Elf with a black lion, constantly sneering, racist, slaughter happy.
Tuross(latest dwarf pic) - Wildhammer Dwarf, Boastful, joyous, drunk, explorer with no pet to speak of yet.

Re: Carrion : art and stories.
I think I like them pretty much in the order you listed them. Carrion > Evaliir > Tuross. That's just my opinion though.

Carrion : The passing of an Old Friend.
The Passing of an Old Friend
It has been nearly a month now that we have departed from the hidden sanctuary of Nijel's Point, a very long time by the measure of humans and dwarves... and looking upon my bearded companions...I can tell that they were glad to at last be gazing upon the shadowed outline of the Point beyond the Kodo Graveyard...and past those hairy wonders were the remnants of the Caravan we sought out to find..discovered lost in the Barrens of all places...The last place any member of the Alliance would want to be...so very close to the Horde Capital..so very close to death..many of them have lost friends and family... I could at least take the time and effort to appreciate that small little fact in life... I could do that at least.
We moved through the wasteland towards our destination, Bones perched silently upon my shoulder, completely unmoving like some sort of carefully chisled statue... and all of my companions were in a heightened mood, their hearts and spirits uplifted the moment they saw the guards in thei blue and golden tabards approach the caravan...one of them removed his helm and gazed upon me with a somber expression as his friend recieved a woman that hurled herself into his loving embrace.
"Why are you staring at me like that, human?" I asked the blonde haired human with irritation jumping to my lips... I never liked or cared for the way these round-earred creatures looked at me... but alas..It couldnt be helped.
"M'lord... My greates apologies...but you have best comes soon... Your companion... He is not in the best of conditions" The words left the humans mouth...and he continued to speak..but that was more than enough to send e flying off of my borrowed horse and sprinting up the hill with all due haste towards my temporary residence upon the Point.. The last place I left Aja... the only friend left from my dark and sorrowful past...the only creature alive that still understood me and my ways... I had to see him.
I pushed open the door..nay..I tossed the door aside, moving into the dimly lit interior where my friend lie, covered in blankets by the fireplace, the child we rescued together kneeling there with one of her elder relatives, her mother to be exact... the older woman lifted her face up at me with glimmering saphire blue eyes as she wiped the bear's brow with a clean wet rag, I kneeled beside my friend and took over the care and I asked, as calm as I could be "What happened, woman? What happened to my dearest Aja?"
"I..I do not know M'Lord C..Carrion... He fell ill just a week before your arrival...Hasnt eaten anything in days.. no matter how much we offer him" She said in a shaking voice, bordering on fear...perhaps I scared her...perhaps it was Aja's own withering life that worried her... I would never know. "Leave us" I said to her, gesturing her towards the door along with her daughter, the vulture now known as Bones simply watched them with his beady blood-red eyes..sending shivers down their mortal spines and I sat there beside my oldest friend... caring for his every need as I remembered the fondest of memories I had with him...
I remembered clearly as if it were just yesterday as I touched upon his greying fur...."come now my elderly friend... you have more fight in you yet" I remembered the very first day that I came upon him... Long before the arrival of orcs, before the coming of humans... long after the War of the Ancients... A small bear cub trapped within a hole..possibly an old one made by the hunters of ages past.... I brushed my fingers across his face small black nose and his beady black eyes then as I did now upon his large elderly features. Aja was growing old... He was growing old indeed...
I remembered the years we spent guarding the forests together, a wandering pair of misfits travelling the woods, chatting in our own way...having arguments over whom got the last fish and laughing as some small scavenger stole it from under our noses.... I will miss those days... I will remember them in my heart for the rest of eternity.
Days went by and all I could do was wait for the inevitable end... hoping with all my heart that this will pass..just like every other hardship that we have been through... That perhaps...my dearest friend will miraculously rise up and lick my face like in the days when he was but a young bear cub... but...all I could do was hope.
I felt the massive body spasm under my hand... Aja's spine arched, his muscles jerked violently and he let out a roar of pain and agony, piss and feces splattering the floor beneath him..all I could do was tighten my fingers around his furred hide as tears came flowing through and down my cheeks... the howls of tormented pains went on...the howls of agony that could not be subsided... and I too felt every last bit of that pain tearing through my heart and soul with each and every one of those howls....It seemed like eternity flashed through my eyes in a matter of seconds....the pain and agony coursed through us both for those short moments in time...those few moments of eternity that I will never forget.
I looked down upon my companion and ran my fingers along his massive forehead, past the vomit that matted his fur and over his glassy white eyes as I closed them shut with gentle care and bent down to kiss his grime covered fur without notice or care of the vomit that covered it before I lifted my head to the sky and let out a scream... A scream of an internal fire raging inside of my very soul, leaping out to the star filled night with enough pain to scorch the very floors of Elune's throne.... i screamed out all my anguish...my pain...the beast inside me threatening to tear out of it's cage and wreak havoc upon the world.... This..would be my last dedication to my dearest friend... The song of loss and sorrow woven through the stars to let him know "I shall miss you my dearest and oldest friend"

Alright, Helio. Thanks for making me cry. *grumbles* Excellent writing, again.
