Pokemon!

I think banning pokemon centres and relying solely on healing items is a more fun way to go, it feels a little more man-vs-nature like, and you're more inclined to manage your cash and be a lot more careful what you spend it on. But yeah everyone seems to do it differently. ~

I wouldn't mind trying a similar variation of this out with Pokemon-XD. No pogey centre, using only healing items and storing/removing pokemon to replenish their PP, should be fun considering those shadow pokemon hit like freaking trucks. <3

A new area is like this right? Route 113 and Route 114 are two different areas. Yes?

Yeah each route is considered a new area, you try and hit them once, then go for the catch because you don't want to risk losing it or taking too much damage because you might not make it to the next pokemon centre.. (and if you make it that far, then chances are that some sob rival will rock up with a cheezy grin on their face just as you're about to walk through the pokemon centre door, all like: "I'mma make you start over >:3"

So far on my Nuz chellange:

Requiem (treeko) lv 15 (chosen from rolling a dice (treeko 1, torchic 2, mudkip 3) Dice rolled 1 first)
Drift (Wurple-> Dustox) lv 10
Sid (wingul) lv 10
Risk (Swellow) lv 13

It was tough at first to capture a pokemon since I'd grinded up Requiem to lv 10 before heading out to find May on route 103. Had no pokeballs so, nothing on those route were capturable. Finally got my 2nd addition, Sid, on rout 104, and Drift in the forest, Risk was caught on route 105, and next I'll be headed into a cave. Well after I fight the gym leader, I hope I dont lose anyone against her!

Whoo! Hai peoples! Little update incoming...

So, there's this Black and White promotional tour going on. Seattle happens to be one of the two first stops.. So, well, that's where I was today. At the mall, spazzing out with a billion other Pokemon fans. AND JEEZ THERE WAS SO STINKIN' MANY OF THEM.

They had demos of the game.. Plushies, shirts.. Yadda yadda yadda. The GameStops there had the Celebi event... Which was awesome. I saw a BUNCH of people cosplaying.. The ones I can remember; A BUNCH of Pikachus, a Pichu, a Venasaur, a Giratina, a Groudon (Kinda.. The guy was wearing a Groudon hat XD).. And a few human characters too, like.. What'shisname (The Grass type Gym Leader from Black and White), Morty (Ghost type Gym Leader from HeartGold and SoulSilver. AND AGH IT MADE ME HAPPY TO SEE ANOTHER PERSON WHO COSPLAYS AS HIM. ... I WOULD have cosplayed today, but well.. I couldn't find my scarf >.>) and a bazillion Team Rocket people XD And due to all the Team Rocket people I saw.. I now want to cosplay as a Team Magma Grunt. I love Team Magma XD

Aaaaaand I got.. PLUSHIESSSSSS! A Reshiram and a Zekrom! <3 Not to mention a Reshiram figure and two shirts; an Oshawott and a RESHIRAM. I am wearing the Reshiram shirt and hugging my Reshiram plushie as I type this. RESHIRAMSPAMLUL XD

Soo.. Yeah. I wasn't able to see the Zoroark movie in threatres, which is one of the things they had.. But hey, it's premering on tv tonight AND the tour will still be there and have the movie tomorrow. So I'll be heading back tomorrow for that XD

I actually watched the movie today. It was fairly decent, mainly because of the three beasts. <3 I will admit, Zorua was quite adorable. Made me want to huge'em. I must get one when I get a 5th gen game.

Irritably enough, I borked up my Diamond challenge. I was trapped, thanks to no pokemon that could learn Rock Smash, but I've already caught a pokemon in each new area. So I had to break the rule and pick up a Bidoof. :p

So. Determined to do a proper Nuzlocke, I picked up my Fire Red. In normal circumstances, I'd pick Charmander and play the Smoke Screen nuke the accuracy game. Buuuut, I'd rather not risk casualities, so I picked bulbasaur. I never liked Squirtle.

Edit: I lied. I'm going Charmander and hoping to pick up a mankey.

And I ended up naming my rival after my brother. His alias is usually Catire, so it's Azunara vs. Catire for rival battles. It amuses me when I beat him and he insults his pokemon. That's right, brother. You're a butt to your pokemon and I'm awesome to them. Take that.

YaY! I managed to beat the first Gym leader, though there was a heartstopping moment when her Nosepass used rocktomb on my wingull, shot Sid's hp down to 3 from full!! Switched him out for Requiem and absorbed my way to victory!
Added a Whismur named Sarg to the team, lv 8 atm, have to grind up a bit with him. Took the boat to Dewford, and now am headed to the cave there in hopes that something catchable this way comes!

**Edit** And just caught a Makuhita and named him Rumble. I fighting type might prove to be most usefull for taking out opponents fast. So far no casualties, excluding the feinted pokemon while trying to capture them, I aim to keep it that way. Also, I've decided that I am not going to buy items from the pokemart (aside from pokeballs), and items can only be used outside of battle (excluding held items, which the pokemon actually use) since I've never really done the held items like berries before.

Also, I cannot run from any battle, everything I face I must face to the end


Question though...Can you only capture 1 pokemon per cave, or one pokemon per cave floor?

From where you last heard, I had decided to take the Charmander route. Beat up rival, do the itty bitty non-important stuff and the following join my party:

Cain the Rattata
Ian the Mankey
Ed the Pidgey

Ian single handedly blows Brock apart after some grinding and I'm feel awesome. No deaths yet. Everyone is fine. Make my way to Mt. Moon and it all goes downhill from there. Horribly lost, I find the fossil guy. By now, Lucy the Spearow and Barry the Zubat join my team.

And he wipes me out.

The only survivors are Ian and Max. Max has one HP, Ian at 14. He bravely staves off trainers, and we run from feral pokemon. Finally, we pick up an escape rope and flee. It's just them now. We find our way through the cave once more on the other side. Rival ambushes me, but Ian and Max take him out.

We catch a few more companions and lost another rattata.

ripetide the lv.25 grovyle (He also found a shiny leaf quite the while back I have no idea what it does though)
Tusula the lv.55 feligator
Xath the lv.50 zapdos (yes i'm breaking my own rule and using a legendary but I couldn't help it)
Muscle the lv.34 machamp
Boku the lv.25 charmeleon

Any suggestions? to replaceing members on my team that is I think I may change xath with a different electric type

Hello all

So currently I am a real noob when it comes to Pokemon games, only have Pokemon Pearl, Just beaten Tower Tycoon after three times trying. His Milotic owning my Luxray everytime is frustrating but Luckily Empoleon killed all three Pokemon after Garchomp and Luxray failed impressively.
Currently awaiting Emerald to arrive by mail so I can get me a Sableye and a Zangoose.
Waiting for Cubone swarm is treading on my last nerve... Just GO AWAY ZIGZAGOON, practicing the PokeRadar business ready to catch a shiny Cubone.

This challenge really does intrigue me. I might start over my Platinum game (Once I take off all the Pokemon I need off of it) and give it a shot. It might help me train up some Pokemon as well. XD

I do like some of the optional rules. I might add the no healing items, no duplicate captures or no master balls. \o/

So, I've made it past the first 2 gyms without a single loss to my team. I am currently traveling with:

Requiem the lv 23 grovyle
Sarg the lv 21 Loudred
Rumble the lv 11 Makuhita (replacing Drift for the next gym)
Voss the lv 20 Mightyena
Risk the lv 23 Swellow
Sid the lv 20 Wingull

Voss I just caught last night as a lv 13 poochyena and grinded up.

I am concerned about Wattson, the next gym leader and his electic arsenal. Hopefully Rumble will be able to handle it with some help from Requiem.

So far, there have been 0 losses, its amazing what the fear of loosing a pokemon will do for survivability tactics!

If you missed the Gamestop Legendary Trio you can recieve them via your Mystery Gift using Nintendo Wi-Fi. Just did it with my Platinum Cartridge and got Raikou. From what I can get off Serebii.net the release times will follow that of the European realease of the Legendary Trio.

If you have not accessed your Mystery Gifts for Diamond/Pearl go to the 2nd Floor of the Jubilife TV Station and find the couple below the wall and between two blue chairs. Talk to the man and he will ask you for a saying. For the first saying input Everyone (from the People setting) then Happy (from the Feelings setting) and confirm. Then for the second saying input Wi-FI (from the Union setting) and Connection (from the Union setting) and hit confirm.
This will unlock the Mystery Gift feature that you can then access at the start screen.

If you have not accessed the Mystery Gift for Platinum go to the 3rd Floor of the Jubilife TV Station; find the couple and input the same sayings from above.

For HeartGold and SoulSilver the Mystery Gift option is already available.

So go unlock your Mystey Gifts and get your Legendaries!

Those that died? Now magically back. Hell, I don't even know if it's a valid Nuzlocke anymore. Technically, Ed and Cane are dead, as well as a few others I haven't even gotten. I'm...going to go cry and feel miserable now.

Since accidental restarts aren't addressed in the rules it can still be considered a valid Nuzlocke game UNLESS you personally decide to null and void the challenge and start over.

My Diamond isn't anymore, cause I had to grab a bidoof or I was unable to move on, so I've decided to grab the raikou and just keep playing without the Nuzlocke rules. xD

Last of the two Snorlax in FireRed... on the bridges... Using my Nidoking who has doublekick, a weeker fight move, to weaken the snorlax, as the last time I tried to catch one, I failed miserably. Needless to say that I would HAVE to critical my second kick on the second attack, causing the Snorlax to faint, rather than be at extremely low HP and capable of being caught... *sigh*
