As for all the panthers becoming flying mounts, I'd personally hope more than anything they don't slap those Winged Guardian wings on all of them.

Yeah, so do I. It would be a shame to ruin such wonderful mounts... :/ Still, I won't bitch about anything until I've seen the models.

Honestly, I don't have any problem with the winged guardian/griffin wings at all. At least they look okay and move correctly.

I hope they don't stick those awful sparklepony wings with the broken and floppy tips on them, personally. But I suspect they're going to be winged guardian remodels, so that's fine with me.

Well wings not matching in color isn't news.

Anyone remember back in BC when windriders went live with ALL of them having the brown wings? They were like that for months. XD They'll make them match, I'm sure.

The way the wings look currently, I don't think they match for style at all. They don't look at all crystalline like the bodies do. I'm hoping it's just temporary art to test the concept until they make matching ones.

I think this clears up the onyx panther being the RAF mount debate? Looks like well have to wait and see what it is for sure.

As much s they look similar, there are 2 skins for the black panthers (One the ground and one for the flying panther)

The onyx panther mount has gold armor and covered in gems, similar to all the other gem Panther models



While the Flying Panther Mount (also labeled as Obsidian Nightwing) has Silver armor and has no extra gems protruding from the model. (though there is a gold armored version of this, but still no extra gems.)



That and they still have different spells

Use: Teaches you how to summon this mount. This mount will fly or run, depending on your riding skill and location.
Sell Price: 2 50

For the Jeweled one and

Heart of the Nightwing

Requires Apprentice Riding
Item Level 60
Use: Teaches you how to transform into an Obsidian Nightwing, allowing you to carry an ally on your back. This is a flying mount.

Also note that the Heart of the Nightwing only require lvl 20, just like all the other Recruit a Friend Mounts. Anyways, just food for thought, and as always, things can always change.

Oh I was thinking that it wasn't going to be the RAF mount..
But ugh, I really hope it isn't going to be the RAF mount now. -.- The rocket is at least unique looking... Not almost a copy of another mount.

I'd probably like the idea more if the obsidian nightwing was a real panther with wings instead of a rock (and then maybe the wings would match more). <.<
I dunno... I guess I'll wait until it seems official that that's the RAF mount. X.x

For the Obsidian Nightwing, I believe that was always the case, just a lot of people thought it was somehow related to the rideable JC mounts, as it does look pretty similar to them (dam that fine text!). It also makes it a 2 person mount for RAF, while making it a little different to the 2 person mount that was implement for the last RAF benefit. Personally I think it's kind of cool, I quite like it

What I'm really left thinking, is how they are going to make the other JC Cats into flying mounts now. For some reason (just a hunch) I don't think they will add wings to them (or I hope not).

Maybe they will kind of float/hover? (like the headless horsemen mount)... I'm really not sure, time will tell I guess.
