Wow that guy sounds like a ranting lunatic. It's a shame to see that.

On a lighter note I hope the auction house opens up again soon! My puzzle obsession has given me some money to play with.

That... I respect his opinion, but not when he says it in such a way that it's obvious he has no respect at all towards Trans* people.

And calling pansexuality childish? I'm sorry I'd rather judge people upon how they treat me rather than their gender or looks? Ugh, that's just... yeah, no I'm not even going to get into that.
I've had adblock on from the get-go, and I make my gems via keeping my clan healthy. It's a very good thing they're doing something about this.

On a much more brighter tone, I finally found an egg while scavenging (in fire, of course, and not arcane like I wanted; go figure) and it hatched into this little cutie.

Seems like it! I'm guessing they're going with the 'use him until we find a new coder then dump him to the side of the road' suggestion. Which is good, because they really don't need bad PR... and that's all he's been.

On his facebook he said he found it funny that someone got sick while playing one of his games but his FB is on private...like it should have been in the first place so this mess wouldnt have even started.

If a game can be contained to one thread (i.e. not a huge amount of posts or they're all on one topic) then I'll leave them in the main games forum, but if they become popular with Petopians and can use multiple threads then I'll split them off like this.

You've probably noticed I've made "Other Games" a higher level forum now (moved it out from under Off-Topic), so this forum won't be too many levels deep.

Thrage has posted a public apology and has stepped down. I believe he's leaving the site as well.

Of course, the drama is everywhere, but that's bound to happen. I'm glad that the admins dealt with this so quickly and, while I'm not really satisfied with Thrage's apology, he was at least gracious enough to step down with minimal drama.

So, in other words, adblock off, return to spending all your money on gems! Woo!

Interesting drama happening while I was asleep.

While I do not agree with his statement, I do fully support his right to say it. I think that freedom of speech is one of the greatest rights humans have managed to obtain and it always makes me sad when I see that it's not actually so and that some opinions should not be stated. However, as someone who is in the "public eye" now, he should definitely have been more careful, because this sort of publicity is never going to be good for you, although I find it quite disturbing how people go through effort to dig up some past comments made on another site that in no way pertain to the game itself. I am also always saddened by the fact that acceptance and the freedom to be yourself, whoever and whatever your beliefs and sexual orientation, are not extended to those who do NOT agree with us more liberal folks. You absolutely don't have to respect the man for his opinions, but he is a human being as well, and has every right to believe what he likes since he does not appear to be causing physical harm to transgender people, or telling them how to live their life either.

I think the only thing that truly annoyed me in his comments was that he wasn't consistent. If we are all just humans, and sexual orientation and gender do not define you in any way, why would you NOT date someone transgender? After all, it's not about their gender or orientation! It's like Wain said, he was trying to come across as polite as possible to cover up his discomfort with the idea of transgenders, and the hypocrisy in his wording was angering me more than what he was saying.

I considered his apology on the site elegant and mature, and I am sure he will be more circumspect with his freedom of speech from now on. Although whether that is a good thing, I don't know.
