I am kind of iffy on the reps.. I read one only has one daily? But it is what it is.

Granted I grinded my way to exalted with every draenor faction aside from Ashran this far, so I if I have to do it, I will. But I am sick of grinding. I actually enjoyed the dailies that came with the Cloudserpents and dare I say I miss dailies in general?

I'm kinda okay with this. Giving thats what I do with my time on wow nowadays anyways since I'm no longer a raider. (I never really was in the first place) I got most of all my treasure found and all I would need to do is the new reps. So almost done? I'll ride my ground mounts that I earned from the rares though from time to time.

So, aside from Saberstalkers, mobs don't give rep too?

If the small amount of dailies + medallions are the only way it's going to take a month to get exalted with one faction :s

I think it's so you don't get overwhelmed with dailies. They are mixing it up. I also updated the Guide to flying thread, with very handy Addons. I'm already back in the game, and collected 1 more treasure for now. I had 20 minutes or so of maintenance to deal with at garrison first, plus trying to get a hang of things again. Not sure how long it's been sense I played last, but my last AH scan was in Jan.

I know, but I think that they should have mobs give rep in addition to the dailies so people can go at their own pace. If people don't want to grind, then they can do just the dailies and get to exalted in a months time. But if people wish to go the more grindy route to get exalted more quickly, then they can do that too.

I like the new requirements and I was already planning to get exalted with the new factions for their mounts anyway. But mainly its great that Blizz listened to the feedback and came up with this solution.

As it stand it just feels like Shaohao and I didn't like that rep grind all one bit. Its mind numbing to me a least. Wish there was something more stimulating to the mind.

i thought i read somewhere that the requierment was rev? it if was i would find that to be much more reasonible. all you would have to do then is cap honored.

I miss them too

. the quests and factions in wod seem so incredibly robotic vrs some of the wonderful reps we have had in the past. I dare say i got a little misty eyed the first time i finished my cloud serpent rep and saw my mount all grown up. >_> mop had some great rep stories. wod is basically just shaohao x 7, minus the weekly rep quests in most cases.

like I have already said I love the idea but I think its fair to say that this whole plan is incredibly rushed. i think the massive outcry startled them a bit so they just had to toss something together from the pile of stuff they already had.
i could see some amazing potential for having to do quests and grind reps for it in future xpacks though. since they would be better able to build the reps with the flying achiv in mind it may become interwoven in the progression of the storyline in a way that makes flying a meaningful achievement and an immersive story to take part in. they could even have one of those reps work kind of like the lorewalkers, so the rep grind meant going into those hidden spots out in the world and finding lore items.

Mastering the Outdoor World
In an upcoming Public Test Realm build, we will be introducing a new meta-achievement called Draenor Pathfinder. You’ll earn this achievement in Patch 6.2 by mastering the outdoor environment of Draenor—exploring Draenor’s zones, collecting 100 treasures in Draenor, completing the Draenor Loremaster and Securing Draenor achievements, and raising the three new Tanaan Jungle reputations to Revered. Initially, this achievement will award a rylak mount: the Soaring Skyterror, one of the native beasts that roam Draenor’s skies. Players will remain ground-bound on Draenor until a small follow-up patch (6.2.x), when all players who have earned Draenor Pathfinder on at least one character will unlock the ability to fly in Draenor on all their level 90+ characters.

Sigh...despite Blizz coming up with these requirements I expect people to still complain on the main WoW forums that the rep grind is the hardest/unfair part just to fly. Gotta love the main forums.

Arwyn, they already are, demanding people needing to do this for ground mounts too (Hell to the no to that).

The grind is there specifically so players can say "Yep, seen it all, now I want to fly over it".

It satisfies both Blizzard and the people that want flying.

The thing is, is the rep grinds hardly fit? Everything else makes sense. Lore master, treasure hunter, explore draenor... These achieves all show you have been to every part of draenor and found all of their little Hidden treasures or Easter eggs.

But the reps? People will just stand in one area grinding mobs or doing a couple dailies. Doesn't have much to do with exploration at all.

But like I said it is what it is. I'll get exalted with the new reps regardless as I want the mounts, but I don't understand their decision to include reps.

I originally wasn't going to mess with this, as I was mistakenly thinking that I'd have to grind all this out on every single character - but having one toon take the hit for the entire team is way, way more palatable. And, as I've found out, with minimal work, Tahlian already has Draenor Loremaster and Explorer, and is halfway through the treasure finding and Securing Draenor. So long as I can get those done in arthritis-manageable chunks before I have to try grinding rep on him...I think I can do this.

And then nobody else will have to mess with it again, because thanks to Tahl, they'll all be able to fly in Draenor.

I just hope we don't have to go through something like all this anger and unsubbing in the next expac to get to keep flying again, though.

Turns out I have most of Loremaster done already, and Explore Draenor. The one I'm working on the most right now, is the treasures. Almost done Shadow Moon Valley, going to move to the next zone, and do Gorgrond last.

This let's you see your progress on everything currently in the game and will be updated with the Tanaan reps when 6.2 comes out.

Gives you a % completion for the exploration and loremaster to give you a better idea on how much time you might need to invest if you want to unlock flying.

I'm 75% done already. The treasures and possibly Don't Let the Tala-door Hit You on the Way Out will take the longest.

I'd avoid Nagrand. The other zones treasures are much easier to get. Nagrand has a lot of annoying jumping puzzles :s

I thought I needed 200 Treasures, but seems it's only 100. So I think I will have everything done before 6.2 comes out, or very shortly after. It will be just a matter of getting rep.

It's a relief to see them give us back flying mounts. I'm already almost completely done with the achievements and only really need to pick up a few treasures and finish doing some of the assaults. Then there's those rep grinds which I'm loathe to do but I'd probably have done them regardless of the flying status.
