I just wish I could draw worth something...
everything I've done lately looks like Crud and deserves to be in a garbage dump......

I just wish I was good at drawing like all my friends...

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
My husband blacked out and collapsed in the parking lot as he was going into work. He has a lot of health problems and these sort of occurrences have been happening more and more frequently this year.
As a result, I went ahead and called out for my shifts for the next two days. My boss is well aware of my husband's condition and was notified when I hired on a few years ago that I may need to call out from my shifts at any given time because of this. It was also explained to me that so long as I keep the lines of communication open (notifying my boss as far advance of such incidents as possible), this would not be a problem. Still, I often find that I am made to feel guilty whenever I do need to call out.
I should mention that my boss is a wonderful person and I get along with her just fine. She has told me a number of time that I am one of her best employees and that she'd like to have me take on more responsibility (aka: leadership roles) at our location. I am one of the few people that currently works there that isn't attending school or has limited availability due to a second job.
I understand that in order for a business to run it must rely on the integrity and efficiency of its employees. I also understand that every time a person calls out of their shift, another person must be quickly found to cover for that time lost. I can't help the position that I am in, nor can I abandon the needs of my family when they need me the most. I'm only scheduled to work part time as it is and do not qualify for family care leave, sick pay, or vacation. I do love my job but I love my family more. If I take on more responsibility in my current place of business, I'll be putting my boss and co-workers at an even greater detriment if I should happen to need time off for my husband or myself. I can also guarantee that the level of stress I am constantly under will greatly increase!
I was talking it over with my husband this evening, and we both came to the conclusion that it may be time for a change of scenery. I have already interviewed and accepted a position with a company I used to work for in the past (I left to attend school full-time). However, I have been put on a waiting list until all department transfers and part-time to full-time conversions have been fulfilled. This job is with a much larger company than the one I currently work for and they have an excellent family leave/dependent care option available for people in my similar predicament. I'll be making around the same amount of money I do now but with slightly more hours and less responsibility (less stress). I'll still be considered part-time but I will earn vacation and sick pay in collaboration with the hours that I work. I just wish they'd finish up already so I can begin my orientation!

Oh and they took out our power transformer along the way, so in 105 degree weather my afternoon pretty much sucked ass without A/C and water. The power finally came back on, but my internet is running painfully slow and my head is pounding from stress/being over heated. To top it all off super fun monthly girl time also started today.
I would like to go to bed and forget about the rest of today.

I am so MAD I am shaking right now, it happens so fucking often, and he just doesn't get it! He views things like if it's there and he gets to it first, its his...So fucking sick of it!
Cookies, food in the freezer, anything that he likes is gone...I grew up with knowing that if there are X amount of people in the house, and x of something, then X/x=# amount of it is mine, and that it will be there for me. I shouldn't have to pig out and eat everything just so I can have some, that's not right...

Re: Rant Thread
One of my cats is sick again.
I don't know what the hell is going on. I've had cats my entire life. I've never had any issue with them, I've never even had one sick in the past. In our first apartment here we had 3 cats for years without a problem.
Ever since we moved into this house, our cats are dropping like flies. We can't figure it out. They've always been on excellent food. They have fresh water. My boyfriend's even gone through the house multiple times to make sure there wasn't some sort of weird chemical they could get into. I'm so stressed out over this.
They just all get sick. I don't know what to do.
We're headed to the vet in a few hours.

Re: Rant Thread
But in other ranting news...
I was sat at my gran's house today after having a lovely Sunday lunch with the family and I'm just sittin', casually playing Pokemon White. I'm fighting that Ghetsis dude after you beat N/catch the legendary and all of his Pokemon are a good few levels higher than mine and he had one Pokemon specifically that kept kicking my ass. It took me four tries but I eventually came up with a clever plan that seemed to work smoothly. I was just beating his last Pokemon when suddenly... THE FUCKING DS RUNS OUT OF FUCKING BATTERY. I totally raged when it happened, and everyone in the room just looked at me weirdly. No one understands my paaaaaaain. ;n; But thank fucking god I always save the game right before I know something important is going to happen.

my rant: it's too hot to sleep here. It's over 30 degrees and then it will rain for like 5 minutes and everything gets damp AND hot. Meh. I feel like I should be somewhere in the jungle and not in Germany.

Re: Rant Thread
Just talked to the vet. The good news is he seems to be showing improvement after the antibiotics, which means it's probably an infection of some sort and thankfully not leukemia. They said he's eating and seems more active which is far better than what he was yesterday. We're going to be picking him up tonight and bringing him home along with food and water syringes if needed to keep in hydrated. We can't afford to keep him there for another night unfortunately, so hopefully we can get him to start eating again.Vephriel wrote:Thought I'd update - Hexter is staying at the veterinary clinic overnight with IVs. They'll hopefully know exactly what's wrong in the morning, but it doesn't sound good. It might be an infection, but the vet said he's worried it's cancer or AIDS.
