Secretly, the Night Elf was more concerned with having a proper fight with the corpse. She had seen real skill in Decay, skill she had not fought against in a long time now. She wanted to fight this one at her peak, to dance with her proper.

Azu finally managed to wrench herself out of the ice, shuddering and hissing irritably. Stupid ice! She shook herself, trying to get the shards out of her fur.

Kozri was still looking at Shattertooth thoughtfully. "You don't have much of a home to go too, huh? Not with the orcs." He swapped back to draconic. Even if the dragon didn't quite pick up on it, it was the best he had.

The hunter didn't reply right away to the orc as she concentrated on getting the arrows out, wincing with each one. Finally she was done and she had enough energy in her for one more small heal ((GotN has a 3 min CD)). She smiled in satisfaction as some of Magna's shallower scrapes healed. "We will have to get Willowe to do more extensive healing on you. I must admit, I am surprised you are still alive." she told the orc, handing him several bandages.

She carefully stood up again and looked over at the black drake. It looked as though Kozri and Arbenning had it under control. Myri smiled to herself at the scene as she limped back over to the goblins. With a sigh she sat down next to Karzix. "Welcome to the Burning Steppes. I hope those orcs are the only trouble we run into during our trip," she told the goblin, though she severely doubted it.

Shattertooth - Burning Steppes

The black drake stopped his licking to look at Kozri, yowling at him in responce. He didn't know why the squishly human dragon was making noises at him. Did he want to fly? Shattertooth did not know if he could fly right now though, everything hurt. He yowled again, lowering his head and folding his wings tight against his body, hoping Kozri wouldn't be angry and hurt him.

Kozri sighed, carefully reaching out to try and give the black a reassuring pat on the muzzle. "Anyone have an idea of what we can do with him?" He asked, sitting down to rest.

"He reminds me of a lost puppy." Myri chuckled at Kozri. "I really do not know. You were speaking something to him...but he didn't seem to understand. Maybe you should start more simply? He seems very young."

Kozri looked from Myri to the drake. "I agree with you on the young part. He's younger than I am, and I'm not exactly an old drake. I wonder how long the orcs have had him, to make him forget about his own tongue. I'm surprised they didn't communicate with each other. This guy here can't be the only dragon they have."

The drake flinched away from Kozri's touch, registering the pat to be a reprimand. Had he done something wrong? He flattened himself to the ground again, yellow eyes staring intently at Kozri.

Kozri growled frustratedly. "Safe." He said, trying Myri's suggestion of using simple draconic. "Friends, not hurt you."

Glix stood up, leaning heavily on her good leg. She rubbed her chin, watching the black drake. "I'd suggest taking him back to where some black drakes would be... but I have a feeling that the dragons wouldn't treat rescuers too kindly." She crossed her arms, looking puzzled as she watched Kozri try and communicate with Shattertooth with little success. She risked a few steps forward toward the drake, seeing how he didn't seem to be a threat for the moment. She peered at Shattertooth with fascination.
"Bah. That ovahgrown lizahrd 'as 'trouble magnet' written all ovah it." Karzix grumbled to Myri, gesturing at the young black drake before falling silent as he watched the drake's actions.

Myri frowned as the dragon flinched from Kozri. Poor thing, she thought to herself. "I would be very surprised if the orcs around here did not have dragons", the hunter said. "If he sticks around here, you are probably right Karzix," she replied. "But I do not want us search all of Burning Steppes for black drakes. I'm sure we will run into more on our way to Blackrock Mountain, though Glix is probably right." Myri was starting to think that their little band would be lucky to get out of this hellhole alive.

Shattertooth roared in responce to Kozri. What did he want from him? He didn't understand at all. He shifted his head slightly, mantaining his flat position, to look at Glix. What did the little squishy thing want?

Kozri stood up and took a few paces back as the black dragon roared at him. "It's no use. I just can't get through to it. That's not a dragon, that's some sort of obedient slave. I'm not sure he can be helped." He scowled. "It'd be easier for him to kill him, his Flight won't take him, we can't take him with us, and the orcs would just abuse and use him again."

The hunter frowned at Kozri's suggestion, but she had to agree. The last thing they needed was a clueless black drake following them around. "So, how would we go about uh...disposing of him? I could shoot him..." she said reluctantly. "Thought I do not think that is wise."

Glix tipped her head to the side as the drake looked at her. She blinked and glanced up at Kozri, chewing on her lip as she considered his words. "He didn't even understand orcish, huh?" She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. Kozri had a point. "Would your arrows even go through his scales, Myri?" She asked, eyeing the dragon's hide and hoping he wasn't picking up on what they were discussing.

"Arrows won't do much against those scales, and I'd rather it'd be quick and painless. He deserves that much. I'll do it if I have to and we can't think of anything better." Kozri said. The pain and exhaustion was quick to come back after the moment of triumph. He was just failing everyone, wasn't he? He didn't know where Indi or Decay were, he had lost Azu, and now he had failed this drake.

The small squishy things and the dragon-turned-squishy things seemed to be talking amongst themselves now. Cautiously, Shattertooth sat up again, watching them with unblinking yellow eyes.

Myri blinked at Glix and then looked from Magna to Kozri. "Did you try talking to it in Orcish Kozri? If not, we have an orc." She pointed to Magna.

"We can speak Orcish, too, if the sight of an orc scares him. I wouldn't blame him if it did." Glix offered, gesturing at herself and Karzix, who had just got up and joined them. Karzix frowned slightly.
"I dunno... is this such a great idea? I mean, even if 'e does undahstand us, what're we gonna do with 'im? If he can't even speak like a dragon, I doubt he knows 'ow tah hunt and survive on 'is own like one too. Kozri said 'is Flight wouldn't likely take 'im in, so 'e'd die o' starvation on 'is own." He tried to reason, nervous of the idea of the drake deciding to follow them should they manage to communicate.
