"Hey Faron! Guess what!"

Faron, Western Plaguelands

Faron gave Saturo a wary look, his hackles raised. "I know the answer is a synonym of 'I'm going to kill you,' so must I really ask?" the troll snapped, crossbow still at the ready. He knew there was a slight possibility that she was switching sides again, but he wasn't sure if he liked that, either. Then again, it was better than being her enemy. As her 'friend' she was liable to stab him in the back - as her enemy, she was liable to just flat out kill him without worrying about gaining trust or anything like that.

Rosaliah--WPL

Rose's eyes were wide with fear. "Saturo...please don't kill us. We had no way of trying to save you back in that pass."

She had no idea what to do. Saturo was unpredictable and she had no means of attempting to save herself and Faron. The wolf was in no condition to run while she covered for him either.

((Yes, Rose is starting to lose her cool and show her age because I've only just realized that she's actually really young in elf standards. XD))

"Kill you? Why? We're buddies! We gonna' rule the world!", she exclaimed cheerfully.

Faron, Western Plaguelands

Faron blinked, hackles slowly falling. She was choosing to be friendly again, then? By the Old Ones, she was psychotic. He had seen people worthy of the "insane cackling cultist" title before, but she really took the cake, and probably the hand of the person serving cake, too.
"So the trying to kill us thing was just a temporary act...?" the troll's voice asked slowly. He gave Rose a reassuring nudge with his head almost unknowingly. She didn't seem very happy.

"Nah, that was just for fun. You would of made an AWESOME hat!"

Rosaliah--WPL

Rose patted Faron's head when she felt him nudge her. "I...I don't understand..." she said.

[Azunara]

Kozri
WPL

"We're in no shape to follow 'em. Indi, you're really hurt. Alarial, you're exhausted. I'm too tired and hurt too much to go far. Luare, Lahzuli, and Julianne...if you go alone, it could end badly. They'll have to fend for themselves." Kozri said. "I've got an ear out for Azu. If something happens, we'll know."

The Plaguelands of the West (WPL, you know?)

Azunara pricked her ears, low, in the shadows, listening. It was a trap. It had to be a trap. Was it a trap? What if the gnome was telling the truth? What if she was still with them? And what if they found her? Swallowing the low, fearful whine building in her, she hunkered down, listening.

Lahzuli and Julianne--WPL

Lahzuli whined. What about the prisoner? Are we just going to let the hunter go? Lahzuli shook her head and started pacing back and forth, not sure what to do.

Julianne looked thoughtful. "Lahzuli brought up a good point. Were we keeping that hunter prisoner or are we just going to let her go?"

Indi looked up. "She'll be back. We have collateral--her pet and her equipment."

Faron, Western Plaguelands

To his private pride, he found himself only mildly disturbed by the mental image of Saturo wearing his head as a hat. He had actually liked wolf-skin helms before being trapped as a wolf himself. They just made the fur on his spine stand up now.
"Yes... As for taking over the world... Didn't summoning Sovereign Deathwing sort of, erm, do that already?" Mentally he added, I don't even want to take over the world... I did my part already. He was probably going to get punished by the Old Ones for that when he died.
His tail wagged ever so slightly at the pat, and he silently cursed the wolf instincts.
A breath of air revealed a very muted cat scent. He frowned, glancing around, listening hard. It was probably just the druids' scent being carried over by the wind.

Luare, Western Plaguelands

Luare nodded. "I saw Azu run off. I think I smell the lightning wolf, too... But I don't hear fighting." She frowned, staring into the forest.

[Saturo]

"For the Twilight Cult, yeah. Not for us."

[Lupis]

Faron, Western Plaguepark

Faron frowned. That sounded like an extremely shortsighted plan. "Don't you think Sovereign Deathwing would be perhaps the slightest bit upset with that?" He didn't even dare saying Deathwing's name without an honorary title, simply out of fear that he'd somehow find out. How in C'thun's name did she think she could outmatch the Aspect of Death?!

Rosaliah--WPL

Rose glanced back and forth between Saturo and Faron. She really hoped the gnome wouldn't kill them. Even more, she hoped Saturo would just let them go on their own way.

Lahzuli--WPL

Lahzuli nodded in agreement with Luare. She could smell the huntress, the lightning wolf, and Saturo, but it seemed calm...for now anyway.

"Remember the demon-titans I told you about? Some pathetic dragon won't be able to withstand several Sargerasish thingies."

[Lupis]

Faron, Western Plaguelands

Faron glanced at Rose. He had a feeling that she didn't really want to go along with Saturo. At the same time, he guessed that if they refused to help, Saturo would promptly kill them both. If not, she'd just join the adventurers again and probably kill them at a later time. He looked over at Saturo again, the troll speaking for him. "Can you give us a moment to discuss? Without spying, if that's possible." He wondered if his going along with Saturo would make the gnome happy enough that Rose could leave without being hunted down or something like that.

"Sure!", Saturo exclaimed cheerfully, turning around to amuse herself by casting Curse of Doom on small animals.

[Lupis]

Faron, Western Plaguelands

Faron glanced at Rose, then limped over to a tree about ten yards away. The troll followed. As soon as the wolf sat down, Vallrok began continuing the healing process.

"I knew it..." She whispered into Kozri's mind, almost as if she was afraid if she thought too loud the gnome would hear her. "She's a liar and is planning something. What the fel is a demon-titan?" She asked, crouched low. She was aware the gnome was close, but Azunara could more or less pinpoint the direction she was in, and quietly stalked away from it, but in a wide arc, so she could listen to Rose and Faron.

Rosaliah--WPL

Rose followed Faron looking upset. "I'm not...I can't follow her, Faron. I only did in the first place because I thought I was going to get paid. This isn't the first mission I've failed...but it's certainly the biggest."

Suddenly she looked as if she were about to cry. "The others...the ones we tried to trap...they actually saved me from her. Tyrant, my devilsaur got hurt, they're working on healing him too. They also have him there as collateral if I don't come back or if I wanted to try and fight them." She crouched down and put her head in her hands. "I don't know what to do..."

[Lupis]

Faron, Western Plaguelands

Faron frowned. He didn't like seeing Rose looking so helpless. He gave her a sympathetic nudge with his nose, and Vallrok spoke for him, his voice a whisper. "I knew you didn't want to go with her, Rose. But she won't be happy if we both refuse, as much as I'm regretting ever talking to her about demon-titans. But if I follow her, then she'll most likely leave you alone. At least, I hope so." He snorted, staring towards the adventurers. "I still don't like them, but if Saturo ends up being on my side, or I end up joining her, then I won't have too much of a reason to fight them." He could smell the cat in the air more clearly, but he was saying only information that would deter attacks, not provoke them.
He still hated the adventurers, but he didn't want to hurt Rose or her pet. That was really starting to complicate his life. He remembered when things had been simple - and before that, when things had actually been happy. That had been nice.
