Cow: as I understand it clit piercings are actually piercings of the clitoral hood, which is NOT the clitoris-- it's relatively nerveless flesh. Assuming your cousin isn't really, really, REALLY into extreme body modification, it's probably no crazier than getting your nipples pierced.

(I do have to say, as someone both with a strong dislike of needles and a borderline phobia of having my epidermis penetrated, anything past ear lobe piercings is deep into "sphincter-clenching fear" territory. So I'm not the most well-read, knowledgeable person. This is just what I've gleaned from some of my more unfortunate internet wanderings.)


Ruby: I just want to toss out that there's a bit of a confirmation bias in the idea that "everyone's having sex during high school." If you look up pretty much any of the statistics, yeah, there's people having sex, but there's a significant number who aren't doing anything at all, at least as late as their early 20s. But all anyone talks about is what DOES happen... and they talk about it a lot. It's much less interesting to mention all the people who didn't feel ready or had more pressing concerns or just didn't have any attractive options.

For what it's worth, I didn't so much as smooch anyone outside of family until I was 20. I like sex, but I had a lot more fun reading about it (reading a LOT about it...) and getting comfortable with myself during my teenage years. Everyone's different, but the way it's worked out for me, I wouldn't trade those years for anything. So if you're not interested or don't feel ready or anything else, please remember that you're not weird, you're not alone, and it's a perfectly reasonably thing to wait.


Actually, that reminds me of something I've wondered about-- beyond written porn/romance novels* and mockery of written porn/romance novels** I don't have a very robust idea of what most ladies' First Time is like. Shoot, I'm not even convinced most people get a single First Time, so much as a couple firsts they sort of lump together, maybe... hrm. I have accepted the axiom that one's first go will always be embarrassing, with a good shot at total humiliation; the preferred story seems to involve love somehow, either puppy or true or naivete-shattering illusory; and, well, hymens are probably going to figure in there somewhere. Maybe not, if you're lucky.

But mine wasn't like any of that, so it occurs to me that I have little clue how it actually goes down for other ladies. I'm insatiably curious about sex and/or the human condition, so now I'm thinking about it. I don't know if it'd be pushing the boundaries of the thread, but I wonder about the non-detailed details: was it good? Was it regrettable? Did it set patterns for later experiences? I want to know!

You know, I go for pretty much the same. Sure, I wear makeup, and care about my hair looking nice and all, and for parties and whatever I like to dress up, but most of the time? Oversized, baggy hoodie and either jeans or cargopants. It's my style, and I like it, regardless of what anyone else thinks, and that's how it should be.

We call that "fjortis" over here, basically means fourteen-year-old. Around thirteen-fifteen a lot of girls start acting like that. It goes away eventually. "Fjortisfylla" for example is acting like you're drunk, just so guys will think you're an easy catch. It's hilarious to inform them that the drink was alcohol-free.

Really, don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal.

My first time, that I actually call the first (you know, cuddling and stuff was pretty frequent before that) was not that bad, it did hurt very little, but I didn't bleed or anything like that. I did/do not regret it at all, maybe when you think back upon it we were doing some stuff too fast, you know, in the heat of the moment, but seeing as that we have been together for 7 years now, and we both took each others virginity, I'm happy with it. We were even doing pretty well for being the first time And even if I would change partner in the future, I don't think I would ever regret it being with him. The thing I remember most though was that I got an urinary infection, so I always tend to go to the bathroom afterwards, just in case (and the poor guy blamed it on himself, but you know, it takes two to tango, as you say )

ohhh, my first time. /nostalgia. My bf spent lots of money to fly and come see me. My parents were EXTREMELY skeptical, since we had met online, and so he even shelled out for a hotel. After meeting my parents and stuff, we went back to hotel and just relished our time together since it was the first time we'd been able to touch. Things ended up... progressing... and we knew we wanted to have sex. It was extra fumbled since we were both virgins but we figured out what to do quickly. It was a little painfull at first but that wasn't what I was focusing on, lol. And I actually bled a lot. I think I broke my own hymen...maybe? I don't rightly remember. I'm pretty sure I did because I remember messing around with myself in high school (well, during the high school years, not in high school itself, lol) and felt pain and had some light bleeding.

My now-husband and I took it very slowly each time when we first started having sex. It's kinda funny actually, for some reason. I originally didn't want to have sex until I was married, so he'd only go in a little and say it wasn't sex (and I knew it was, but it was fun)...it happened like that a few times until finally I just got tired of messing around and so we finally just did the deed. We were lame. He was my first, I think I'm his fourth or so. Lost my virginity at 19, I think? Yeah, because we got married a year later right before I turned 21.

I'm honestly happy I waited, because I have nothing to compare him to. To me, he's great, but maybe that's because I've only been with him and I wouldn't know if there's something better out there or not.

I tried shaving my stuff once, and it both itched and made me miserable, plus I thought my bare nether-region looked pretty strange. It just looks weird without hair. But then, I don't shave my legs all that often, either. I'm too lazy to keep up on it and my husband doesn't seem to care. I do shave my pits but that's about it. And I love hair on men, too. Chest hair, stomach hair, facial hair, you name it. Even back hair doesn't really bother me too much as long as it's not real thick and dark. So I suppose that's why I'm not too bothered by having it on myself, either. (Regular hair, not back hair, LOL)
