If real life money wasn't involved, and there weren't real time limited events that gave advantage linked to the real life cash, I wouldn't be too fussed tbh. So even 3 days to me is too long, especially without a clear idea of what is happening and when the issue will be resolved. I'm not saying they are gonna cut and run, but still, sometimes FR to me feels too informal and it makes me uneasy :/

Mmmm I dunno guys. I don't know how many of you were around for the downtime in June? July? That was bad. This really is nothing. Let's be honest--I would rather they talk several days to fix a serious issue then haphazardly come up with some fix in order to make everything kind of better faster. We need to remember that at the end of the day, FR doesn't owe a lot of us anything. Even then, if you paid money for gems, you got your currency and did with it what you would. It is a free to play browser game. They owe you absolutely nothing. Feeding your dragons? Courtesy. Incubating your dragons? Ditto. If they give us something as a "sorry guys" present? Oh wait, not mandatory, they're being apologetic cause things happened.

And yes, this is taking forever. But they are one coder short--of course it's taking forever! They're working at half-capacity. FR is a fledgling site and a lot of people need to remember it is going to have a million flaws. That's kind of the nature of young sites. If you want something a little less buggy, try neopets. They've got the same idea--and they'be around long enough to work out the kinks!

The biggest flaw I see with the FR staff is that they never seem to find the big flaws until someone uses it :lol:

Like really get someone who's job it is to find them XD Hell hire one of the people who found a big issue as they seem to know what they are doing :lol:

Fair enough, but they wouldn't have much of a user base (or a reason for existing) without good solid customer service. Technically, no, they don't owe users anything, but at the end of the day, it's a symbiotic relationship.

Regardless, this is a rant thread. Lots of times rants aren't based on logic. We come here to gripe about whatever flickers across our field of vision that bothers us at that moment in time.

I know they are (well.. I think?) taking care of our dragons while this goes on but seeing my dragons energy bars not completely full is really grating on me.. lol I am not criticizing the staff I promise, it's just a dumb personal thing >:

That's how it works,

Good customer service = customers forgive hiccups like this = site gets stronger = more customers come = site lives = profit

I'm not saying that they could do better on informing us what they're doing--granted, they did tell us what happened and that they're fixing it, which is better than what Blizzard does half the time.

I'm just pointing out that FR is pretty heavily crippled right now without Akiri to be helping things out, and someone out there chose a damn good time to screw everything on the site up. We just need to be patient. :)

Azu is right here. I was playing Neopets when it first started (I'm that old) and the bugs it had could very easily be compared to FR - if not WORSE. The laggyness, the bugs, the broken things. Neopets was bad for several years - and I still played it. They got their act together though and I wouldn't expect FR to be any less similar. Quite frankly, I don't think they're doing half bad.

As one of those people who paid real money for things ( :oops: ) on the site it's a bit upsetting to know I could have been put at risk. Yes it's taking FOREVER and it's very :evil: for me but I don't feel they "owe" me anything. But for someone like me who's .............. attached for lack of a better word to my pixel dragons it's extremely frustrating to not feed and care for them and to see them decline because someone had to ruin the party.
My OCD is through the roof because they're not being fed. That in itself is bothering me since. I mean. They're pixels. BUT THEY'RE MY PIXELS DAMNIT AND I WANT THEM FED AND HAPPY. *storms off*

Even early Neopets did a better job on a lot of things XD I dunno FR has always felt like a group of people who had no clue at what they where doing acting like they did know what they where doing.

Also they could hire a temp or intern or something to replace the hurt guy until he comes back I think. I mean hell you don't need to pay an intern :lol:

I'm pretty sure energy bars get topped off when the site rolls over so all the dragons are bound to lose energy during the actual day. They probably have feeding set to a trigger that activates at a specific time each day :)

For a rant thread I'm so relieved to see everyone here talking proper and not having a hissy fit about the updates we're getting. One other site I'm on, people have been complaining about the updates like children and augh it's atrocious. Lightsky is the one handling the problem so Xhaz can only relay what info Light's given him which is making a lot of people really pissy. It made me really happy to see people here aren't at the stage of pictchforks and torches yet xD

I'm sad though with the downtime being as it is. I have my two crackle coatl's on hold for people who need extended periods of time each to gather the treasure up for them. I really need that treasure. Not to mention how bored I am haha. I really want to do my gathering and jump into Pinkerton's junk pile and grind in the coli for a good haul on food for my draggies. I still have a couple dragons to spice up still and I need to find a Plague nest to borrow to lay a nest of Skydancers my bf is holding for me (I was out of room and have yet to pick em back up) to try and breed a dragon based off my OC Shalyth. I don't have any games to busy myself with so pet sites and pokemon are all I really have ._.

I can hold on for a while longer though while I go nuts over my new precious Hoothoot on pokemon though :lol:

I'd love a wingless dragon too, but I think it would be too difficult to implement considering the Secondary colours/genes are pretty heavily tied into the wings, and I can't see them replacing that easily with a different trait. Imperials would have been gorgeous without wings, imo, but I understand why they have to keep them in all designs.

Yeah I know. I guess I'm just more frustrated I got TWO nests that need to be hatched and my dragons aren't being fed.
