I found Karkin up and called my friend over to tame it. I quickly explained what to do, us both standing in front of Karkin, when a deathknight from the other faction runs up, and kills it, right in front of us. He must have silenced the barrage, because poor Karkin just shot meagre fireballs at him. I relogged to my horde char, to send him an angry tell, and also mail his guildleader of the jerk action he just did. I looked him up on the armory, to figure the gl out, turns out, it's him himself... So I just sent a mail explaining the uselessness of killing rares, but some people... My friend immediately fell in love with Karkin and was so excited to get him!

Star was in channel when Ban was killed by a mage for just that reason.

Skarr was up i missed him by 30 seconds... damn flu... but im happy to say...he WAS tamed!!

Even tho i tamed Pogeyan, it added an extra 4 hours to my wait (9 hours total over a day n a half cause i started the camp late), i would of had Pogeyan early today if the asswipe rogue who tried to duel me before the spawn hadn't 2-shot the poor cat while i was busy taming. Piss me the f* off, im trying to level grind to 49 so i can tame Slaverjaw (gonna be known as Bloodythorn to match my char Bloodyrusco) but i couldnt help but drool at Pogey's model since most orange/tan and some red models really look good with my char. Ive always loved Pogey but i could never get her to click on any of my chars

Nooooo I just missed Kirix... my own dumb fault... I was running my two accounts simultaneously, one on my computer one on my SO's... and I evidently had Kirix cached on my computer so NPCscan didn't ring when he spawned. I saw the alert on the other computer and relogged and ran there - saw two hunters try and die, figured it was my turn, and I failed as well. Corpseran, the other two hunters still not there, I gear up to try again and manage to fall off the ledge. Corpserun and get set up just in time to see a hunter tame him.

At least the other hunter that got him was a nice hunter (he had whispered me earlier today to tell me Karkin was up if I wanted to tame him, which I already knew and was in fact midway through taming but was grateful for anyway), rather than the other hunter who was there, who I've seen killing rares outright when it looks like somebody else's going to manage the tame.

Still...

At least I have the tame time, I guess? Although there's a server maintenance in a few hours (EU server here) so god knows if that screws with the timers or not... but I'll try to be awake when the servers come back up in any case...

Damnit. *kicks self*

I'm sorry. Kirix is the god of all pets. He will eventually bestow his blessing upon you! At least a nice guy tamed him. Had a dbag tamed him today. He tamed him, and the /lol'd /ruded all the other hunters who had tried before him. Admittedly, they DID fail and it was his turn but you don't need to be a complete dwad about it. You can be humble. I /thanked and /bowed to a DK who agreed to not kill Skarr after I paid him 50g even though he shouldn't have killed him anyway. It pays to be nice. When will people learn that being mean just makes it harder on you?

I sure hope he will! I've tamed everything else bar Ankha across two hunters, some twice. (Deth'tilac because nobody wanted the second, Ban'thalos because again, nobody wanted the second one, Skitterflame because I saw him up today and despite my attempts to find a hunter who wanted him nobody wanted him - and there was a group gathering to kill him, so rather than have him get killed, I gave him a good home... again...)

It's always nice when somebody nice gets a tame. I felt so sorry for the other hunter who was also camping Karkin when Karkin spawned today - he'd just left, and a minute later, Karkin spawned and I tamed him. I promised him I'd shout if I see Karkin up again and he's online.

Would be nice to get some Kirix karma to pay me a visit. I'm going to log in there tomorrow the moment the servers go back up and keep my fingers crossed.

I tamed Kirix twice because no one wanted him the second time. I have two gorgeous green spiders now. Loki and Kirixtwo. Haha. I'm so creative with names...

shhh i know this is the wrong spot but i been here crying for 2 days how everyone kills him..

Its totally fine to cry. I've camped blue Madexx for 4 months without even a sighting and Aotona for....years without a sighting. So I'm going to cry too. Going to look for Aotona right now. Believe me, all will know if I get her.

My turn to rant. It's yet another /cry moment over Deth, who I have now (un)affectionately named "dead a lot"

Attempt number 1: We find Deth up and are very excited. It's me and a hunter friend, so we tag him and start bringing him down. A few people join in including an alliance mage. We get him into taming HP range, and stupid me, I get nervous and he kills me. OK no problem, I run back and start taming again, I am about 50% through the tame when the mage starts shooting spells at him again.. Deth falls over dead. The mage points at Deth, points at me then runs off.
Didn't catch his name and was to tired to care at that point.

Attempt number 2: Me and the same friend find Deth again the next night, and again, we start tagging him and bringing him down. We get him into HP range and another hunter shows up and kills him right as I hit tame. Furious I log into my alliance ambassador and ask "why did you kill that purple spider??" The reply: "I'd rather see it dead than in the hands of a f***ing horde." I am so mad that a fellow hunter could feel that way I start crying and log off.

Attempt number 3: About a week later we find Deth again, looking all lonely and bored, so we pull him again and we're doing our thing when a few more people show up and start hitting him. Another hunter shows up and starts spamming tame on him,and tossing a few concussive's at him. He pulled hate finally but was one shotted and dies (which I did snicker at despite my own noobness) We gran hate back and I start my tame and next thing I know, Deth falls dead at my feet. My friend /says "who did that?" to which a paladin replied "I did so you idiot hunters can stop fighting over it". I caught his name, I was furious, and I reported that guy.

Attempt number 4: A hunter finds Deth up and asked in general if anyone wants him. I respond and make my way over there. We start getting him down, and once he's in tame range, I get nervous and stand to close (I tend to shake REALLY bad when I get nervous and start really noobing it up). Deth kills me and I run back.. to find Deth dead. Not sure what happened. Other hunter seemed confused. Not blaming that other hunter, I have seen 2 other Deth's since then fall over dead as well and everyone looked confused.

I have come to the conclusion that Deth's new name is in fact, "Dead A LOT" and he was destined never to be mine. I have seen him 2 subsequent times, and both times gave him away, and both times he died...

That is now 6 times I have seen that purple spider laying on it's back homeless.

I give up on that purple spider. I never did like spiders that much, and now I like them even less.
3 of those 4 attempts ended because someone had to be petty/jealous/immature. Really wish Blizzard would fix the tags to where when a mob is claimed by a person or party, no one outside can claim until all party members are dead or lose aggro for some reason.. (Final Fantasy 11 flashback anyone?)

I am convinced that 4.2 is THE douche-bag patch, and Deth'tilac's new name forever shall be "DEAD'ALOT"

I feel your pain ahnalia. Both I, and another hunter are looking for Deth, and we have seen him dead, not once, not twice, not three times, but four times. It pains me to see rares die, and I agree with the idea with the tags. Its a smart idea, and Blizz should learn from the amounts of rare beasts being killed DAILY.

Well, I found a mage who killed Skarr well logging on, and this was the convo:
Me[to mage]: Why'd you kill him
Mage[To me]: So I could loot him
Mage[to me]: Why wouldn't I?
Me[To mage]: You know all rares in Molten Front drop a 25g crystal?
Mage[to me]: Yep
Me[to mage]: It's not worth it because some hunters would tip you 1kg or more
NPCscan found: Anthriss (me: HOLY MOTHER OF GOD IT'S ALIVE)
Mage[to me] are u a hunter?
Me[to mage]: Yes I am, and if I didn't already have him, I would have tipped 1.5kg for letting me tame him.
The mage shut up after that....

ahnalia i know how you feel. i had deth killed/stolen tamed infront of me 10 times. if you look back though the pages you might find my fail attempts.....and my one sucess.

also: how the heck do you tame the Lone Hunter with the sword stuck in his head?!?!?!
right after that i went to TH to find karoma waiting for me:)

Looked for Blue Madexx and Aotona for over 5 hours last night. Not a sighting. Not even as another hunter's pet. I'm thinking they don't exist on my server.
