Clearly, artichoke fur = savage.

Clearly.

I'm kind og meh about the artichoke fur too. I think it makes them look kind of top heavy in some angles. I bet its just left over bulk from converting the pvp wolf mount into a mob. (since the mounts have a ridiculous amount of head/neck armor) also they have really pointy chins.
But I'm willing to give one a shot because it gets rid of a lot of cringe worthy stuff from the old model and it has the coyote run. :D (Hm, come to think of it we haven't seen a new coyote in a long time. I remember there being some coyote wolves in Blades edge.)

I agree with you there. I can't ever picture these new muscular ones as female either.. So having a herd with one "male" and the rest "female" from the old models wouldn't be so bad. And of course the lone males. I'd love a simple texture update and not a remodel for the old ones as well, however.

Not too fond of the Elekks too
I actually agree with the talbuks comment. The old talbuks looks so graceful and sleek and these looks really bulky? Like they have SO MUCH leg muscle I'm just here like ?????????
It'll probably look better in motion but holy jeez those fat legs. I LOVE the elekks though wow, I wish they came in more colors!
cowmuflage wrote:I like how the boars resemble the BC ones. It could of been very easy just to make up a whole new look for them seeing as this is a different timeline and you could brush the spines off as "fel taint" etc but nope they stuck to their guns and made them look like the old model (and that is a really cool model the old one!)
And god yes I am so so so impressed with the boars! <3 They look so amazing and just wow those spikes! I love that you can clearly tell they eventually turned into the BC boars.

This entire expansion is really interesting with the wildlife, I love that we get to see how these beasts "evolved" (I think it'd be more... morphed?) when Draenor turned into Outland! It's kind of interesting in that by the looks of it, a lot of beasts lost physical power?
Well, except maybe the boars. The BC boars seem to be doing fine.

Yeah it is neat to see how they would of looked like before Outland. I wonder if Rock flayers have changed much?

They're actually in motion here:

Not sure how long though as he's supposed to be back soon, and will probably take down the talbuk animation. They definitely look better in motion save for its broken back leg they'll hopefully fix.

I love the Talbuks, Elekks, Boars, and Hippos. I doubt that Talbuks or Elekks will be tameable though. I expect them to remain as mounts only.

OH jeez I hope they... wow. No that doesn't look good at all. <_< I was thinking maybe they'd get the same animations of the stag or windsteed but omg that walk just looks broken. <_<;
(I feel like this is getting slightly of topic with the animation talk and I'm sorry! x_x)

I like their walk, I didn't expect it to be any different lol. Yeah I don't like their broken leg but I'm sure they'll fix it.

Those new models are great. I hope we can tame the "hydra" plant!

But, only three new families? I hope one or two more get introduced via major patches... we got 7 new families in MoP. And this is the last expansion(?) Or I may be wrong about that last part.

Nooo it's not the last expansion. I'd die if it was lol. I know they said they had multiple expansions lined up after WoD, I don't know how many, but wow will be around awhile longer.

I love the talbucks and think they look very good.

I know they're based on a Ibex. Who are HUGE and really muscly.

And personally. I like the new sporebat models. Somewhat. I mean. They are seemingly getting rid of the triple penis look. So that's a plus right?

Despite wanting it, I doubt they'll be tameable. Or rather, that this is an indication. It only shows "summon" plus the name of the creature if it's the family. Since they said we'll only get 3 new families, but a lot of new models for existing families, I don't think this is actually an indication of Clefthoof pets.

Sorry. :(

"Summon Clefthoof" doesn't seem to be a standard hunter spell. There aren't equivalents for all the existing families. It sounds like it's more likely a quest spell.

So freaking excited for WoD in terms of pets, but kind of bummy on all the losses Hunters are taking to the spells, especially BM.

Here's hoping we don't keep the stereotype of "BM bad, MM/Surv good" from other players.

Other than that, I'm digging those Riverbeasts!
