Sounds like he doesn't use the default chat frame to view emotes. Currently the overwriting only happens in the default (first, most left) chat frame. I hope I can fix this someday.Sorcha Ravenlock wrote:My husband is having an odd problem with the addon at the moment.
First of all it wouldn't do any emotes at all and he had to type /random on
Then it was still behaving oddly.
Normally when your pet does an emote it says something like:
"Mittens chases a bug."
Now it says for him:
"Bob's cat Mittens chases a bug." (Bob being his character, Mittens his pet.)
There is a conflict, right. The game freezes sometimes, when interacting with those items. Also I hope to get this fixed soon, as I like to use Gryphonheart too.Regaleth wrote:I'm having some add-on conflicts between Gryphonheart Items and Petemote. Currently I'm just not creating custom RP items on my hunters, but it would be nice for the two add-ons to get along nicely... not sure why they aren't. Any ideas?

Excellent, thanks Jorna! I really love your add-on, and with my hunter slowly becoming more popular than my previous main, I'm looking forward to making custom items for him AND having interactive petsJorna wrote: There is a conflict, right. I liked this emote, just can't really use it anymore due to my only pet being a wind serpent and me looking like a tard when it spits out the eletricity thing ._.

It was me that said something about the spelling. ^_^Teigan wrote:err...huhwha? Was there spelling problem, or what? Ingame it says 'eletricity' instead of electricity.
Also I noticed the devilsaur is still missing part of its emote when it pulls critters from its claws.

I've always viewed a chimaera with a protective personality.

*eyes DaBeast* You stop hamming it up over there, you silly puppy you. There are already plenty of corehound emotes!
Chimeras always strike me as flying more lazily than some of the other flying pets. Owls are constantly pushing to keep themselves up in the air, for example. Chimeras never seem to exert that sort of effort. It's always slow flapping. They coast around with Move To rather than frantically beating the air with their wings, but they can certainly go fast when they need that extra burst of speed. "Still waters run deep," is the phrase that comes to mind when I think of chimeras. They come off as lazy or even slothful pets, but if danger approaches, they're all over it like crazy.
The other really really cool thing that chimeras can do that I don't believe any other pet family can currently do is use their breath to freeze things. It's actually quite funny to see the corehounds having entered this conversation, since perhaps chimeras could be their frosty equivalent. They could make icicles with their breath, or perhaps breathe on small critters, freezing them in blocks of ice. They could make delicate ice sculptures that melt away, maybe even snowmen.
Just some ideas to play with.

Re: PetEmote Addon - Working on things again :)
Lol in my post I was saying when he uses the 'eletricity' I mean on my server there's no petopian guild that I'm aware of, and no one ive ever ran into uses petemote. So I was just saying in BG's it makes me look like I'm dumb because people don't realize I'm using petemote and instead think I am typing out each emote and that I can't spell lol.Teigan wrote:err...huhwha? EDIT: sorry for being snarky, that just sorta struck me wrong

Now this post has moar snarkyness.

Forest: I personally say you shouldn't care what others say.
I still use it with the typo. unless people are whispering you constantly, then most times no one will really care or notice.

Re: PetEmote Addon - Working on things again :)
I hear ya, Forest. I don't run with PetEmote on Kalliope due to the awkwardness of random emotes in bgs and such. Plus Dethecus is a PvP server. Something cutesy like PetEmote is highly likely to get me killed there. I don't care as much on my Nesingwary hunters, so I just leave it on. If you really like PetEmote, but don't want it to draw the wrong sort of attention to you in hostile environments, you could always toggle it on and off. And spelling errors can be corrected.
As an aside, since mage water elementals are now permanent, is there any plan to add emotes for them?

Re: PetEmote Addon - Working on things again :)
I can't help but envision this haughty 'better-than-thou' personality on Chimeras now. Not sure if you'd want to go that route, but you could inject a sort of proud disdain if you wanted. For example, the chimera not always listening to its owner...not out of sloth, merely out of a 'What, you want me to do that trivial task?" sort of way. They could preen themselves, or display their wings proudly, incline their chins, sniff haughtily, etc...
As with the ice/frost aspect mentioned above, there's also the lightning/storm part of them. So that could come into play as well.

I do have an emote for Ravagers.
"...nips his/her mistress/master affectionately on their arm/hip."
"...skitters off and snatches a critter in its jaws, then prances back to his/her mistress/master and drops it at their feet."
