It's a fantasy game, the way I think of it. So real world science can't always apply. In this universe, the femworgen have an ugly snarl/type.
I don't think thats got anything to do with fantasy. A snarl is an action a dog does. It's not a color or kind of species. Any werewolf I've seen(pictures wise) doesnt snarl all the time. They snarl when they're angry. That's quite a bit different than the red vs reg panda thing. But I think you were just playing devils advocate there.
ANYWHO, back onto the actual topic since we're veering off track, that is the character creation screen, I like the new set up so far.

True true, I cant say that I've seen any werewolf's that's had snarl all the time either, but then wow only have worgen... which typicality always snarled.
The old models did,
The new models did, (some one even designed one without a snarl as a comparison)
But you where right by saying It's a fantasy game, the way I think of it. So real world science can't always apply.

Because Blizzard is sexist and way too gender normative, etc, etc.
From what I've seen though, in this thread http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 9&start=20 Doomcookie linked a picture that has a Red Male panda in the middle right side (though I don't know if can pick that colour during character creation)

I thought blizz said only the females will have the tails and its something they love to hold over the males. Ill see if I can find where I read that.

You can choose to be a black and white panda, à la the male pandaren, or you can be a red panda. If you go with red panda, you get a tail! Black and white pandaren females don't get one; only the red pandas do. The tail is animated and looks great (and you get to lord it over the inferior male pandaren).
It obviously could have changed though since I dont believe they had decided that male pandas could be red as well then.
Im pretty sure I read it in the MMO-C interviews they did, but Im really tired atm and my attempts to skim through to find it killed my eyes.

Most people do not even realize how different Red Pandas are from Panda Bears. For years, they were called the "Panda's closest relative" and such.
People just think its a cute, small red version of a Panda with a tail. They don't realize they are completely different species and animals, and no more closely related than wolves are to hyena.
Watching The Lion King the first time, I literally facepalmed when the hyenas started growling and barking and yipping like dogs, with their characteristic "laughing" and warbling in only three short instances. Seems like in movies and TV and such everything that opposes cats is automatically turned into a dog or dog-analogue. It makes me want to grab someone by the neck and scream "Hyenas are NOT freaking dogs! Hyenas are CIVETS!!" (the closest relatives of the hyena family are the Viverridae: genets, the binturong, most of the civets, and the two African linsangs).

Dude thats Disney for you. I can't count how many times they get things totally wrong and they know they do it too! Or the racest things XD (I'm not talking about the really old stuff here I'm talking 80's plus)

*read the conversation about worgen snarls*
I completely agree. I think they look much better without the constant snarl but i play them anyways cause i love wolf people. Thats pretty much the only reason i play them. The voice and snarl of the females would have me rolling males for forever but males dont have the greatest options. I dont like that some ears i want come with hideous facial hair. Thats what kills males for me. But the snarl and voice of females kills me as well. /sigh
But im loving this character screen overhaul, i love that we get to seeeeeeeeeeeeee the hairstyles and markings and skin colors <3

I love the werewolf/wolf anthro people myself. X3 It's why I keep playing them.
And yush! This isnt final yet but I like it so far!

Ugh, I know! I've only recently become a hyena fan due to Talaridan acquiring his beloved Violet, a purple hyena. I started doing research and watching documentaries. Hyenas are incredible animals and not really dog-like at all, other than living in 'packs', though they call them clans. They are wonderfully unique animals and intelligent, resourceful, and tough. Really fascinating animals! I don't understand why they get such a bad rap.
