Re: Considering PvP...
I've personally topped BG meters in heals done with Mend pet (and maybe bandages?)... *sigh* One of those times we even won...
And I just like my Spider, I know it's more practical to have just a Silithid, but Luna, my Deth'tilac, is one of my favorite pets, so it'd be weird without her on my team, especially when I JUST got my silithid, simply in case we needed the fortitude buff.
It'll be hard for me to choose a team in MoP... with the ability to choose my pets spec, I may run with 2 SB's, one cunning, one ferocity, at least until I find out which spec I enjoy better for them. Also, if I keep my current team, I'll be having one of my webbers go Ferocity, the other Cunning, for sure, and I'll have to see about my Rhino and Nether Ray. It will at the very least, be more interesting to see different combos able to be put together in MoP

The other interesting thing about MoP is that some of the family abilities have to change, since trueshot aura will be available baseline and will cover certain buffs. Makes planning hard at this stage.

Re: Considering PvP...
Yeah, I agree. I'm definitely going to have to wait until further into the beta before I set anything into stone, but as of right now, this is my plan.
Personally, with the reduction of buffs/debuffs, I'm hoping more pets will get utility-based and fun abilities, like the web or horn toss or Spirit heal.

Re: Considering PvP...
I think all the three specs can effectively PvP. MM has excellent burst damage plus silencing shot, perfect for burning down a self-healer. BM has all the pet special talents and is less affected by line-of-sight issues, important in arena, since your pet is still on the enemy even if they're hiding from your shots. Surv has its advocates too, but I know less about it so I'm not going to speculate.
Shale spiders are like having your own paladin to give Kings, but you're pretty likely to have a pally in the group already.

Eh, really MM's best advantage is burst damage. Silence shot is available through using a Nether Ray or Moth, and Intimidation is a stun that also helps prevent healing.Morven wrote:I think all the three specs can effectively PvP. Also, my Shale Spider is my #1 solo pet, but I do not bring him out for PvP. I only have 1 Tenacity Pet for PvP, my rhino for EoTS punting, and he'll go cunning or ferocity come MoP. Tenacity pets just don't have the damage output needed for me to use regularly, especially Jazz, my purple Shale spider, because the web wrap is a stun that's liable to diminishing returns.

Don't underestimate the BW burst damage.

Re: Considering PvP...
True, but I use BW as more of a CC break than anything. I normally don't need too much burst because I'm overall in a crowd and farming Killing Blows. The burst is probably amazing in Arena, but I don't Arena.Kalliope wrote:Don't underestimate the BW burst damage.BM brought the beast to beastcleave.

True true. I usually do that as well....but I don't hesitate to use it offensively if the opportunity arises.Gimlion wrote:True, but I use BW as more of a CC break than anything. I agree. If I am taking on someone one-on-one with limited CC capabilities, like some DKs and Warriors usually, I'll burn it if I don't think I'll kill them without it. But if rogues, WLs, other hunters, druids, mages, and any other well-off CC class is around, I'll save it to break CC.
