I'm a bit curious on what those justifications are. O.oKalliope wrote:This being a monk-only model would be a nice perk for an ENTIRELY NEW CLASS.
There's no guarantee that we won't get to tame this model (or ever get to), but there are certainly a number of good justifications for not letting us do so.
I really don't see why this model can't just be shared. Let hunters and monks have it. Sure, we have a lot if cat spirit beasts, just go ahead and release this as one and let it be the last cat SB. We have a mate of a loa, why not a mate of a celestial?

Either way, I won't be too upset. I just am fond of the model despite how tired I am of cats using their cat-powers on us.

Monks are an entirely new class. It's not like begging for ghost wolves, which didn't turn up until an expansion after shamans existed - and even then, that wasn't intentionally. Why shouldn't the monks get to be shiny in their expansion?
Xuen must have a mate someplace with all of those kittens, but there's no guarantee that she'll be another Loque'nahak - what if Blizzard has different plans for her? We don't know. Technically, we shouldn't be able to tame the mate of a loa, but we can. Celestials might be getting greater consideration - or not. Again, we don't know. We shall see which pattern this follows, the Loque or the ghost wolf.

Edit: Not to say that people can't have differing opinions. I do my best not to insult others that don't agree, since I know they have their reasons, just like I may have my reasons for not agreeing with them in turn.

You do rehome rares a lot, heh. I know you asked me a couple of timesZiarre wrote::< Hey, I'll have you know I can be pretty generous. I rehome rares quite a lot, and sometimes actively go out of my way to check spawn points for people! I think I can have the occasional 'grabbyhands moment.' ...And it doesn't help that this model is hitting all of my sweet spots...glowing, blue, glowing, blue...

Altho the spirit wolves were originally a glitch, and I think the put the spirit beast wolf in to shut up people wanting the ghost wolves back, there's always a chance this could be a new spirit beast. We'll never know until game release! And even then, could be added later as a patch.

Re: The Spirit Tiger we've seen is Monk's level 90 skill
Kalli and Veph have summed it up.
Yes, there is precendence in regards to the ghost wolf. However, I'm calling iffy on that, because Karoma exists as memento to the Grimtotem Spirit Guides (admit it, you know it's true), which weren't even supposed to be tamable logically in the first place. It was an overshot on Blizz's part that hunters got around. The ghost wolf model was likely never intended to be hunter tamable.
Additionally, monks do deserve nice models like this. They are a new class. And hunters are already getting a load of shiny new things already. Can't monks have their one bone? Really, the attitude seems to be, "If it vaguely looks animal like, that totally means a hunter should be able to tame it!" And it's kind of disturbing. Hunters don't -need- to tame -every- model under the sun, and frankly I think this is one model that shouldn't be tamed. It's like Cenarius.
Besides, for every hunter that cries that they don't get it, there's two monks crying about how they can't have anything unique or cool. *shrugs*

No, not saying this thread is pointless. This thread was quite useful for letting folks know it was a Monk skill. I meant...*hand wave*...tame-beggy-type threads or something.

Truth be told, I'm a little tired of the hydra threads. It's like....okay, we get that there is still a desire....we don't need the same people bringing them up quite that often.

Let's see.
Unique casting animations. Unique Combat Animations. Unique Statue Animations, Unique Flying Mount through Glyph... need I go on?

I have no doubts that -EVENTUALLY- this model will appear as a tameable beast. If the monks are invoking the beast, then the original beast has to still be there.

Yeah.... I may or may not roll my eyes every time I see a hydra thread. No offense intended to those who post them, but Blizzard KNOWS hunters want them, how could they not with the almost cult-like following they have?Kalliope wrote:Know what you meant.

And...I'm not begging for this model tameable at all, I do know that hunters are spoiled.

But nonetheless, I know it's possible we may not get this, so just in case, be prepared.
...and now I have "Be Prepared" from The Lipn King stuck in my head.
*puts it on repeat*

Re: The Spirit Tiger we've seen is Monk's level 90 skill
No one said that monks should be the only ones to get this cat model "so they have something unique." It's among the unique things that monks get, but not the sole one.
It's a unique "shiny pet thing" among all classes (for now). And yes, it's the only one of THOSE that monks have. But no one once said that the cat is the only unique thing that monks get.
Add Xuen's mate and make her level 91 or something so she can get picked up next expansion. Problem solved!

Guys. Please don't get mad if hunters to get to tame them.
We have zombie birds, two headed dragon dogs, Elemental creatures and lots of other cool stuff that shouldn't be tamable by hunters.
Yet we do. We have tons of cool stuff! Let the other classes have cool things to. Were not the only class in the game let's not forget
Plus if you want the cat so badly just roll a monk its not that hard.
