Mists of Pandaria Rare Beasts Riddle

In this same area as Quivering, I saw a spot of mist on the ground on my druid, and went there on my hunter to try a few things out. Flare, tracking... nada.

Aren't the things that we're looking for visible to hunters only?

That's why I went there on the hunter to try flare etc. I thought, maybe in the mist something else might hide just for hunters...I was soo sure there 'might' be something!

I visited that place again and I didnt see the mist that was in your screenshot. Makes me wonder.

I saw the mist clouds multiple times yesterday in various locations. Kalli figured they might be the engineering extractor clouds, which I agree is probably the case.

It's highly unlikely, but I would chuckle a bit if I found out that the devs were toying with us and the beasts, nor their traces, weren't implemented in any form yet.

This is an example of what I would consider a good place for something to spawn. There are clues, it is to itself...

if the beasts are truly implemented i doubt spirit beasts would be in yet as i have seen no mention of a new spirit type beast model...unless we are getting xuen's model and chi-ji's model as spirit beasts

Something does spawn there, but it's Cracklemaw, a thunder wolf for a Golden Lotus quest.
He's not there every day though.

Yah quests can make things difficult.. especially if you havent done any and dont know the item your looking at is a quest item (like say a feather, a pool of water). WTB more hints pls

This would be a perfect way to track a tameable version of the animal gods. "Cat, Crane, and (Maybe) Yak." Loque, but much more fun. Tracking the mate of a god with hints and clues.

I found something that may be related. In the area around Neverest Peak, there are some strange doodads called Heavy Tracks. They seem to fade in and out of being spawned over a few minutes, though that could possibly be beta lag. They may be a quest item, in which case if anyone knows it'd be nice if you could give me the name of the quest so I don't keep looking around here. They all seem to tail off and randomly end at no place in particular (just in the middle of a snow patch, at the edge of a cliff, and yes I went down and couldn't see anything, etc). Attached is a screenshot:

Indeed. I've been looking around the area for the last 15-20 mins, but the tracks seem to be despawned more often than spawned, and I haven't found anything yet sadly It may well just be a quest to find an NPC (i.e "follow the footprints" ala Shango).

There's some similar tracks in vale called dusty track and they're doing the same thing, phasing in and out.

Ooh, interesting! Do you have a screeny? If the rares share similar mechanics this seems like a good indication we might be onto something.

This definitely sounds like what we're looking for, now that there have been two sightings.

Have tried following them a couple of times but just end up at a dead end or losing the trail and it despawns ;/
