Re: Sunwing...
Hehe, hey. ^_^ Thank you, but for the moment (slight thread derail), I'm camping Acroniss since I want her more, and there's nobody else here in the cave (yet...), but I'm gone if somebody else shows up. x_x I don't like small spaces, and other people I don't know make me nervous, so for me, the two definitely do not mix, but /rerail.Novikova wrote:Oh hey you! I'm rooting for you then, I'll probably wait for you to grab it first. I saw the troll. And yes, I did /pat and /wish you luck. I left since I saw you there to go get a white serpent.I got me my snake. Now I'm half watching for Sunwing. I won't grab it if I see you. Though, the NE next to me kept dropping a mole machine and stuff.
Hope your back feels better.
And I only said fairly polite because I figured really polite was kinda creepy since they had an AFK tag up. >_> Fairly is the noncreeper of compliments.
I'm a bit more coherent than I was last night. I read back in the thread, and I'm so sorry that happened to you. Was the troll on a cloud serpent mount? When I went back to check on Sunwing (turns out, I'd missed her by thirty seconds, but my good friend who'd been camping with me got her, so I'm happy) a troll from Area 52 server was there, and he promptly decided to get right up in my face. >_< I hate it when people are rude like that, so I hearthed back to Klaxxi'vess and just went back to bed. It's sad when a xenophobic race of mantis-men treat you far better than a fellow hunter does. :/
I don't mind how long it takes me to get either pet I'm after since i had a really awesome day Monday (got Karoma, bronze Madexx, and the aqua strider minipet from Nalash). So yesterday balances out (hopefully), and I was able to help my good friend get Chiaa last night, too.
...and there's a worgen here in the cave now. Same server, but if she dun leave soon, I'm bailing. Hunters of opposite faction make me even more nervous, especially if I don't know them, and I don't want a rare death on my hands. -_-
Re: Sunwing...
He's low to the ground, floating, around with the scorpids and wolves. An extremely easy tame.
If you go to the little camp, then walk around the hill where the scorpids and wolves are he spawns right in them. I was lucky that someone who had tamed him before showed me exactly where he was and no one was camping the area.

Re: Sunwing...
But two movies and some coffee later... at exactly 7:15am server he re-spawned!.. Here are some high res screen shots for those that want a close up look of what this beautiful dragonhawk looks like.. (server was shutting down so I just print screen a few times and wanted to go back and post some auctions). Also for those of you interested he spawns EXACTLY above where I am at..
Also like to thank a huntress from Akama US for keeping me company for a bit lol

Yeah, I logged in this morning to check and the NE who was spamming her engineering mount noises, dropping mole machines on me, etc is still here. x.xFalconcrest wrote:Hehe, hey. And nah, it wasn't Thanos. Though, I sorta blocked his name out since I try not to remember irritating things. I usually tend to wander if someone else is camping, but I don't know. Hopefully you snag him. I don't mind it taking a bit - I can set NPCscan and do some homework, but. :/ I can understand that.
Edit: Yeah, looks like he spawns along the side of the hill. Tamed him at 10:48 Pacific for peeps in the Feathermoon battlegroup/whatsits. I figured I'd check in before class. Now off to math it up.

Re: Sunwing...
So, Sunwing spawns on the ground and not at cliff-height? Im currently going to attempt to camp him, luckily no competition for the moment
Edit: Heh, spoke too soon, hunters are starting to pass by
Edit (6:27 CRZ time in burning steppes): Sunwing spawned, i was mounted so i got to fly over to him first. Ally hunter camping beside me got jealous because he wasnt mounted and thus didnt make it to the dragonhawk in time and shot him dead. Poor Sungwing crashed down right ontop of my char. Hour n a half wasted.

He does spawn in the air. Shade<3 saw me tame him and he was in the air above both of our heads(but he was still reachable with the Tame button)Thanøs wrote:^This is not true he spawns on the ground

Re: Sunwing...
^ correct he spawns in the air
I mean you can stand on the ground and tame him from the airXakaal wrote:Cant cast spells while mounted so you need to be on the ground ;3Klumzyee wrote:Just found out that you an cast tame beast with it while you're on the ground! even if sunwings in the air

Re: Sunwing...
Im confused.. you need to stand on solid ground to cast spells such as taming, so even if he's in the air, you need solid land to start the process o.OKlumzyee wrote:^ correct he spawns in the air

Re: Sunwing...
I think they meant he's in the air and you can tame him while he's flying.
Re: Sunwing...
Yeah thats what I ment, I mean theres no need to shoot him or try to punch him.. You can simply cast tame beast while you're standing on the ground at the flying sunwing in the air. (he doesn't fly higher then the range of our tame beast)

Re: Sunwing...
While it is easier just to say hey, I'm taking it if I can, so what if people have been waiting... Think about what you're saying. If someone is already there first, they were there first. Wait your turn, don't be a huntard.
And yes, you can argue that things have been stolen from you, so why not return the favor.
Are you going to be like them? Are they the model hunter we want people to see? To be like?
We all know how it feels to have been camping for that rare, only to have it stolen/killed out from under us. How we despised that person and our heart sank as we faced yet more camping after that momentary rush of briefly thinking our time had come, the wait has paid off.
And yes, xrz [thanks alot, Blizz >.>] makes it harder now, and frustrations run high over these new rares, but still... People, we are taught how to share and not to budge in line in grade school. I know it, and deep down, you know it, that it is wrong to think we can just swoop in and steal or kill another's tame. They have been waiting, possibly for HOURS, and you know it. Trying to justify it by saying may the fastest macro win... That's just trying to excuse huntard behavior, and doesn't make it right by any stretch of the imagination. It's just what you tell yourself so you can sleep at night. Only when we rise above this behavior can things improve, and the stealing stop.

Re: Sunwing...
Well said, Snowwalker.
Personally, I make space for others always. When I was camping for the red arcane serpent, I was not doing it non-stop. I logged in every hour or so, once found the serpent killed, probably by someone who was questing. After the fourth hour or so after his death, I logged in again, and found another hunter camping. Okay, I had started my "camping" several hours before, however, my style of camping has its benefits and its downsides, and technically that troll now had priority. I told him when it had last been up that I knew of, wished him luck, and told him I'd try again later. When I logged in again four hours later, I found him online but no longer camping. He graciously told me that he had tamed it 10 minutes previously and I congratulated him warmly. I then logged on about four hours later and tamed my beauty, uncontested.
If someone is there before me, even if I started my "camping" hours, days, months before, it is theirs. That's my rule, and I have never deviated from it.

Re: Sunwing...
I had been camping sunwing for two hours last night, I knew his spot, had the gliph to speed up taming.. I just had to wait. As I waited I kept an eye out for any other hunters in the area, doing a 'who' of the zone from lv 1 to 90 every so often showed me as the only alliance member in the zone, even trying to pass the time useing zone chat was all quiet and not seeing any horde flying by, I figured I was alone and could do my magic when Sunwing spawned.
As Sunwing spawned and I started the tame, next thing I know Sunwing comes crashing down before me, as this other alliance hunter from -my own realm- starts chewing me out for trying to 'steal' his tame.
I could just go wtf, I was camping there for over an hour, if he was there as well hed have shown up on the who list. Maybe even replied to my comments in zone chat. I had to put the fool on ignore and leave empty handed as he wouldn't stop acusing me of stealing his tame and calling me a lot of not so nice things. He even alt switched to continue and I promptly reported him. I don't put up with that nonsense.

Re: Sunwing...
I passed up Sunwing when he spawned to a tauren hunter that had been waiting there. She was a bit rude at first, asking if I always camp on top of people (even though I had never seen her before then) but apologized and said alliance was being a bother. We started talking and of course I agreed that since she was there first, she ought to get Sunwing. He spawned, I noticed and she didn't, so I pointed him out to her and she tamed him easily. I got him later in the day with no problem. Things work out just fine when others are willing to work with you. Some people just don't have that kind of etiquette associated with rares, especially Sunwing and Acroniss.
