Exactly! At least people who want them smaller have an option, those of us who like big, imposing pets, didn't. Now if only they'd increase devilsaur size by a smidge when tamed. :3

Problem with the glyph though is it'll shrink all of their pets down.

As I said, I think they are a bit too big. They are awesome that big, yes, but I'm sure a lot of people will hate them
"I cannot klick the mob!!", "I cant loot, take that freaking huge dinosaur out of my way!", "Quest giver, which quest giver?"

We need a "Glyph of smaller dire horn proportions", don't want all my pets to be smaller :D

The glyph is still more of a solution for those that want a smaller one than for those that wanted a bigger direhorn. And it's not that hard to use the move pet command to move them out of the way while being idle. Considering all of the other distractions already in the game that have solutions, the new size isn't *that* big of a deal. If your raid/raid leader deem it too big for raiding, then save that pet as a questing/soloing/having fun pet.

I think the majority of hunters wont take their pets out of the way.

Imagine some hunters in Orgrimmar auction house with their direhorns.. :?

I was running around with mine last night and it didn't feel much different from a rhino. I didn't have any problems. I know he looks pretty enormous in my screen shot, but things look really huge beside tiny female blood elves.

I have no problem with the new size personally, it feels right that they're big considering they're a bit of a specialty pet, in the same way that Spirit Beasts are usually larger than their non-spirit family counterparts.

All I know is I love giant dinos. <3

That doesn't mean there isn't a solution around the pets. ;) We've been dealing with big things for years, this isn't the first new one to come along and the new size still offers more solutions to more people all around than the smaller size did.

Because I have some sort of odd fixation with making comparisons, here's a rhino/direhorn one. They seem to be the same size, more or less. The bulk might be placed differently on the body due to various appendages and such, but I'd say they're equal.

And an overlay. Rhino turned out to be a bit harder to see since the colours blended into the background, doh.

Thanks for the pics, Veph. I'm feeling better about the current size now.

I really love this new size! Finally male tauren and draenei won't make their direhorn look tiny. As for hunters blocking stuff with their big pets, is there really anything bigger than a male tauren on a Grand Expedition Yak? Those are seriously gigantic!

Thank you Veph! That's really helpful. I'm feeling a bit better now about the apparently 'too big' size. (:
Although, if people are struggling to see past them... Zoom out? :P

But not everyone enjoys playing that way. Obviously for instances, the game mechanics require that camera distance. Otherwise, I prefer keeping my camera snugged in fairly close; I find it more immersive.

I kinda meant that for instances though. Otherwise I don't see the problem in having a pet that large anyway.

Also...

And I find dinosaurs not being petit immersive. :P

There's a glyph that should shrink it to a smaller size. On top of that, no one's forcing you to use a direhorn. In fact, it's racial skill isn't exactly amazing.

More comparisons!

It isn't a huge difference but this is with and without the glyph of lesser proportions. This would be much better as a .gif but i do not have the technology.

Actually I decided to use the internet and went buckwild.

Here is a comparison of a direhorn without glyph of lesser proportion and with the glyph, now animated!

Image

But then I remembered the glyph of direction makes your MD target larger! So here are more comparisons...

A direhorn WITHOUT the glyph of lesser proportion comparing how big glyph of direction makes it.

Image

A direhorn WITH lesser proportion comparing how big glyph of direction makes it.
