I wish I could. But since I'm using a good friend's beta access, I can't really post over there. Shhhhh I didn't just say what you think I said.

A lot of you reference your character yelling? Is this new? How bad is it? I haven't seen it in any of the vids I've watched on BM alpha/beta for legion. Is it something you can turn off?

So far, while not thrilled with all of the changes this looks live able for my main, but meh I turn off error speech because it drives me nuts. I'd rather not have my character constantly yelling too. X.x

It's new. It's loud. It's honestly obnoxious. And omg, if you're a gnome female hunter? or near a gnome female hunter? IT'S SO LOUD. Gnome Female BM Hunter and Demon Hunter glaives are like... the two loudest things you'll hear in the beta in my honest opinion. While the glaives might be a sound glitch (like the corehounds were super loud when first introduced as a family, you could hear them across opposite ends of stormwind in the PTR), the BM Hunter yell probably isn't. It's very loud.

And sadly, you can't turn it off. I've tried. Short of muting all sounds, I can't shut my Hunter up. I hope someone makes a BM yell-silencer addon. @_@ But I've also left suggestions/feedback for Blizzard to allow us to turn it off or alter it. It's annoying for everyone.

Edit:
I also wanted to comment as well on the other stuff since people were talking about their feelings on BM now that we've been on beta for a few days.

I might be in the minority but... I'm honestly loving the hell out of my BM Hunter. Sure, there's a lot bugs and tuning that needs to be done (and yes, I hate the incessant yelling), and I take all of that with a grain of salt and provide/report bugs and feedback during the beta regularly. But I am finding I love my BM Hunter more on beta than I do on live. I had to go raid the other night on my main and I just felt bored with how BM hunter is live compared to what I was doing on the beta.

When I first started the beta, I felt weak as all get out. But once I played with talents, quested, and got some better gear, I found myself not feeling that weak. Yes, pet health needs to be fixed, but overall I didn't feel like I was in a horrible place as I had originally feared. I'm at level 105 right now, ~739 ilvl i believe? And I am having no problem at all running with my pet in Ferocity. I easily can take on a fairly large pack of non-elites and toss a Mend Pet maybe and just let my pet go to town with Beast Cleave + Multishot. I do agree having so many random dire beasts is kind of odd though, but I would probably take Dire Frenzy to avoid that issue (but currently there's a bug with GCD and Dire Frenzy in my experience, so I don't use it). But I've also taken on 2-4 elites at a time and had no issue keeping my pet up.

So overall, I'm personally happy with the direction of BM, though it needs a lot of work. Especially our talents and our pet's "passives". It bothers me immensely that former "core" parts of BM have been moved into the "pvp talent" system like Beast Within and Adaptation.

I'll definitely be sticking with BM going into Legion. I don't really mind the rotation as much, now that I've got better gear, I feel I really don't have the downtime I did before. Chimera shot, unfortunately, feels mandatory to prevent that. But overall I feel very fast paced with stable pattern to attack. But I do hate the loss of traps and camouflage.

I just wish it wasn't random animals that came trotting out. I prefer a deep connection with one special pet over shouting and calling God-knows-what out of the forest. I feel that BM has traditionally focused on a Hunter and her pets, not a Hunter and her ability to go all Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.

Don't want to make a new thread for this, but does anyone know where the quest for the Essence Swapper starts? Figured it would be at the lodge but don't see anything (I'm lvl 110).

If it helps I am compiling a list of what races/sexes produce the most annoying yells. Some don't have yells at all.

As far as I know, it's from this quest: http://legion.wowhead.com/quest=43370/a-new-invention

Just don't know where it starts.

In the Alpha that quest just started for me seemingly spontaneously at the Lodge by the scouting table. A hologram of Mimiron appeared there and offered me the quest. I don't remember what might have triggered it, other than level. I haven't received it on the Beta yet, but I'm also only 109.

Now that I'm done moving, I figure I'll be poking around on the beta a bit. I did log back in last night, but about all I did was fly down to Un'Goro to find a Stegodon to tame. I did follow the breadcrumb quest to Dalaran to choose the spec for the legendary. (No fair. I want to run around with the Highmountain Tauren character, but she's for SV, not BM)

From the little I did before, I found myself having a hard time getting into BM. Even in previous betas, I've never had so many empty action bar slots and it just seemed like a lot of waiting for something to come off cooldown. Is there a point where things pick up noticeably performance-wise?

Figured it out. You have to walk up to the pedestal to the right of the mission board, which causes Mimiron to appear, then you talk to him a few times, and then he offers the quest.

Only thing I can't figure out is how to undo the essence swap (for any Hunters who may want to go back to the default Hati).

I think he only appears once you reach level 110. The hologram pad didn't activate for me before then.

I'm not sure how to undo the essence swap! I never tried.

Has anyone figured out how to revert Hati to his original form after an essence swap?

Nope, still can't find a way! Surely there must be one. Maybe they haven't added it yet.

I forgot this thread existed.

I really don't like BM as it is. I hate not feeling like I have control over my focus (I took Chimaera Shot just to feel this but even that didn't help). I don't mind rogue/feral in this regard, but BM feels different to me still. I am trying to give myself enough time to adjust to the new style instead of trying to project the old style on it because its not the same at all. I want to give it an honest fair chance but its just... idk lacking engagement to me.

Yes as a player I am pushing buttons but I don't feel like I'm truly the one doing anything. I am such a master of beasts that I feel like the beast npcs are doing everything. I personally hate the new Stampede too. On live, I am pretty much exclusively BM. On Beta, I'm already completely jaded with it. What irks me about it the most is pet families are still tied to the spec. If I wanna use my spirit beast moose Spook, I got to play (whats for me) an unengaging and frankly boring spec that completely lacks any visceral feedback.

So yeah arguably everything they did is more thematic for the spec but I think they forgot to patch fun and engagement back into it. At least to me.

And while not BM specific, I just miss having things like spirit bond and good healing on the pet.

I was surprised how fun SV felt, and I'm just now feeling out MM but this isn't a SV/MM thread.

I did demo lock for invasion, and I did survival just to get the spear, and they both have a lot more buttons than BM. And there is the feeling that I'm wasting time if I'm waiting for focus (it feels more like energy). Although it sounds like other people have it worse*.
What would solve both of those problems is if there were a second shot that had no CD, but used less focus than cobra (no none) that did less damage. So the choice would be between A and B, not A and nothing.

I took dire stable, dire frenzy, blink strike, and barrage. With more crit, I might switch blink to one with the pack.

All Blizz will probably do at this point is tuning BM's damage. They said in an interview a couple days ago that they won't be doing any big changes or anything to Classes or Specs; just tuning or tweaking. :(

Which I find a irritating part of the process. They had the spec rotations and toolkits pretty much locked in before they hit beta and started inviting more people to test. What we can test and provide feedback on is limited now, important but still limited. I would love to provide my thoughts on BM in detail but by the time I got in, it was too late to make any difference for this xpac. Same goes for all the beta invitees wanting to provide feedback on spec and fantasy. Not a fan of being in the bug/tuning part of the test only and missing out on the design part.
