I'm just stating my opinion, but it seems to me this couple (or at least the mother anyway) is addicted to having children. Your body can get addicted to just about anything, it seems like, if it gives you a good feeling that you want to have again. I mean, there's alcohol, drugs, caffeine, chocolate, sex, food in general, exercising, losing weight, you name it. Anything that puts you in a state of mind that you want to keep having over and over slowly becomes an addiction. So maybe having a baby in the home gives that mother a good feeling, and so she wants to keep having more to keep that feeling there. However, like many other addictions, just because something makes you feel good for a little while doesn't mean you should keep doing it. Everything in moderation because eventually, you'll end up hurting yourself.

LOL, I don't know about the giving birth part necessarily, but maybe the baby itself. I know they're a lot of work, but they're also small, cuddly, smell good, and are adorable. So maybe she/they just like having babies around? /shrug

I don't have kids myself, so I don't know.

I'm sorry if my rodent calling came across as offensive as it wasn't meant that way. But I'm not one to take back what I said. I also call kids piglets. I'm entitled to my opinion or decisions of what to call them. :)

Animals do not have as many kids as this woman has had willingly especially back to back. I like kids, if anyone's wondering, but they're not for me.
No a kid cannot choose who their parents are. But that woman clearly needs to visit a therapist. She has now risked not just her own life but the life of a baby who didn't have a choice. How fair is that???

A vasectomy is 100% effective when performed correctly. (Gentlemen cover your ears ............ er eyes if you want.)

As a former nurse I assisted in vasectomies twice a week with our one physician. The tubes are cut then closed. Now it's not as though they just snip, sew done. It's snip, snip remove tubal piece sew sew close up and done. Basically the tubes are cute and those cut pieces are removed. That ensures 100% effectiveness and is less trauma to the surrounding tissue compared to a snip, sew or burn. If the procedure was a failure then I would be having some serious discussions with my doctor. They also test the man when it's completed for potency. If he has it, back under the knife and this procedure isn't charged for as it was not completed properly the first time.
You can open your eyes now gents.

She could be addicted to babies being around, and the husband could pull out, but a big part of the "quiverfull" religious movement is that you will have as many kids as God wants you to have. If you pull out, stop having the intimacies of marriage, etc, you are no longer working with God's will. The same goes for infertile couples in the movement, they aren't to look to fertility treatments, but either live a childless life or adopt.

The whole religious part to the story makes things more complicated than him pulling out, getting snipped, or whatever, because the question of how many kids they have isn't up to them, but God.....and not following his will....well, it's usually not looked upon as a good thing in most groups.

This is as I said what I hate, because it's like they're snubbing the fact God- if you're religious, gave us free will. We have a right to choose what we do and how we do it. Like we have a right to choose to worship or not, and if you worship how you worship because the true 'temple' is your heart not some building tbh.

I mean this is as bad as some religious nutjob who claimed medical care made God hate you and that God would hate you more for accepting blood transfusions or donating blood for transfusions.

As I blatantly capslocked back at him, if your God hates you for saving a life or being saved by someone elses donation, then your God is effed up because my God is not like that :|

i hate it when people use religion like this, and I know if they couldn't with Religion they would do it with something else because it's like, some people can't deal with making their own choices, they have to have someone else make their choice.

And I'm glad my friends aren't like that :|

It's called the most undependable birth control for a reason.

The thing is, why risk it? It lessens the risk, yes, but it's still there.

I'm mostly surprised on how they can find the time to keep having sex when they have to care for so many kids.

Are they actually saying something like "Because God told me to?". If they are I am going to state a little opinion of mine and I'm sorry if I offend anyone.

I may not be religious in any way shape or form, but of course, I never buy into that whole "Because God told me to" thing. To me, it's just an excuse to try and justify you're actions. =/ To me, that's just abusing a religion. >.<

Okay, I won't go into anything else.. Back to the main topic here. >_> My guess is this is going to catch up with them. That women will get to the point where she can't have kids so damn easy anymore or at all. Like stated before, having too many children can actually do more harm then good. It'll catch up with them.
