In one slight defense of the scar thing it is a bit hard to make a scar that big and elaborate without making it look obviously fake : / Now I do they agree they could have made them look better and that from what I've heard he made all the names different and the story different to try to appeal to Japanese audiences.. Lemme know how that worked out for you  8%

I think I recall him saying Momo's name once, but it was sort of from far away so it wasn't noticeable. He also said "Yip yip!" to Appa once that I remember. Not sure if he ever called Appa by name.

But yeah, still a terribad movie.

I don't think that really justifies it. Shamylan had a LOT of money and resources at his disposal. There ARE really good makeup artists out there, who could make a realistic looking burn across half of the actor's face. Hell, I've seen some Halloween costumes that look creepily realistic in this regard. It probably wouldn't look like a flame anymore, but that's probably the most unrealistic part about cartoon-Zuko's scar to begin with.

Furthermore, I happen to know a guy who has a burn across half his face from an accident. It doesn't look pretty, but it DEFINITELY doesn't look fake. It's doable. They could've done better.

Sigh.

I love the Harry potter movies, and I've read all the books straight through (Sorcerers stone through Deathly Hollows) ten times. Not exaggerating. While I was slightly disappointed with Battle of Hogwarts at the end of HP6, I loved the movie none-the-less. And with Making Deathly Hollows into two movies, I don't see how they could leave much out.

There are very few good Book to Movies. LOTR and Harry potter are the only ones I've seen. Chronicles of Narnia by disney was just fail, and Although Eragon as a movie was good, it was awful when considering the book it was based on. Golden Compass another in the list.

I wouldn't compare LOTR to Harry Potter... I like the books a lot more than the movies, anyhow. THe movies are great, but they're never quite as good as whatever they're based on.

Harry Potter is always a hit or miss, seeing as it's had like FIVE directors by now. Some were fairly accurate to the books and only left out trivial, unnecessary things. Some were monstrosities.

I don't know about Eragon (I've neither read the books nor seen the movies) but the first Chronicle of Narnia (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) was INCREDIBLY accurate to the book. The second one (Prince Caspain) was a piece of crap, though.

Golden Compass wasn't a great rendition of the book, but considering its source material blatantly speaks against the church I was HARDLY surprised at some of its edits. It had a good Daemon quiz though (even if I was a spider...wtf? *arachnophobe* )

Airbender is just....a travesty, though.

I didn't care for the Harry Potter movies at all even though I'm a huge fan of the books. They were just....ehh, I didn't like them.

LOTR remains some of the only movies derived from an epic series of novels that turned out amazing, in my opinion. They're about as close to perfect as you can get considering how much of the books you have to cut out to have them at even a remotely reasonable time. ^^

This movie should be buried and forgotten about completely. It makes me cringe, being such a big fan of the series.

To be fair, the original book (in fact, the entire Chronicles of Narnia series) is really a huge Christian parable. C.S. Lewis did it intentionally, and it carried over to the movies.

But, uh, you might want to be careful about making generalized statements about religion, because that could get you into deep trouble in the future.

Yeah Cow, you really, REALLY want to watch what you say about religion. I'm not a Christian myself, though I did grow up in a Christian household ((And my father is a preacher)), but even I was kind of offended by that. If you REALLY think that's all they 'use' their religion for, then you are dead, dead wrong. My apologies, but I know my father, and I know many other Christian who are good, wholesome people who really believe in their faith, and aren't just using it 'as an excuss to hate gays'. So next time? Get your story straight, and DON'T make whole sale generalizations, or I WILL get angry.

Yeah I'm Christian myself and I kind of found it offensive, but....the forums REALLY aren't the place to start vicious arguments over religion, so let's just leave it be.

Hmm, before this turns ugly I thought I'd just pop in here and say that as long as it isn't affecting you or hurting others, there is nothing wrong with everyone having their own beliefs. Yes, there are aspects of some religions that can be considered hateful or harmful, but until it affects you directly I would be cautious of assuming the same applies for all facets.

I don't like shrimp. Never have, probably never will. I hate the taste. I certainly don't care if other people enjoy shrimp, and it hardly alters my perception of someone if they do. I know this is a terribly one-dimensional metaphor, but hopefully the point goes across. Not trying to preach at anyone since I'm definitely not perfect either, but religion is a touchy subject in the best of cases. ;)

I don't think I'm even going to waste time finding it on youtube or in some corner of the internet to download. Just...doesn't seem worth it...
