It depends on whether they makes the wasps in AQ20&40 tameable when they revamp those raids (and I heard they're being converted to 10-person raids). There are white wasps aplenty in both.

Anyone got an idea of what the spawn timer might be? Might as well go have a look on my hunter while I'm still on my taming spree...

According to the official World of Warcraft Atlas, this mob is rated as Uncommon rarity with a respawn timer of ~5-8 hours.

There are NO new skins or pets available to tame in 4.0.1. In all likelihood they'll be added in 4.0.3.

He's not tameable yet! This thread is from Cataclysm Beta.

Patch 4.0.3 at the earliest, which is NOT this patch. It'll be the major one before the expansion.

That will quite likely be the new Cataclysm expansion that you have to buy. There will be a patch that just has the world changes for people who don't buy Cataclysm, and of course none of us have any idea how big it will be since we're not developers. And I daresay even most of the developers wouldn't be able to tell you.

I think, and this is just my personal educated guess as a software developer and long-time WoW player, that we've seen the worst of it in terms of size. I believe the ~5gig patch we just downloaded has all the updates required to bring on the cataclysm on Azeroth. I would imagine that we'd see perhaps another 2gig when Cataclysm is released, which would essentially contain the new zones. Just my guess, don't take it as gospel! :)
