Trust me, there's interest.
I don't really have time to play right now -- have a 3000-word essay due this week (I'm just killing time between classes in the school computer lab at the moment), but I'm a HUGE fan of Scorpids, so I'll do a review.

I've been pretty much in love with Scorpids since Cerah's starting pet quests, way back at level 10. The Orc starters required you to tame a bronze scorpid, and I loved it so much that's the first pet I tamed on my own. When I restarted Cerah on my own account, she once again tamed a Scorpid for her first pet, though the black and red skin this time. (I like to say he molted -- some arachnids, like some kinds of tarantulas, actually *can* be quite differnt colours after a moulting). Scorponok's been with Cerah ever since -- her level 10 pet, whom she'll never, EVER abandon.
Leata recently tamed her own scorpid, Quickstrike, for the other thread -- a bronze scorpid, just like Scorponok's first skin. You can read about hers and Quickstrike's adventures
here
For the pink scorpid skin, I've always thought they were quite pretty while I was exploring Taranis with various toons, and at one point considered Scorponok having another "molt", but by the mid 40s, I liked Scorponok just the way he was. The "pink" scorpids do look more white against the Taranis desert background, however. Though I like the bronze and red and black skins better, I think Toeph or Lydia just might pick one of these beauties up when they level. All my Hunter toons seem to need a Scorpid of their very own.
For pet sounds, I always found something endearing about a scorpid's cute little chirps and bug-shrieks. They do have quite the personality, and their vocalizations express it perfectly! Animations also support this. I love how they're always moving around, skittering in place, their claws swinging back and forth -- they're almost as active as a silithid. I even find their faces cute.
For abilities/utility, I have to say that I liked Scorpid Poison better than their current Disarm. When they stinged an opponent in the past, it meant I didn't have to use my Serpent Sting shot, plus the DoT effect really, really helped out Cerah in low levels. Even if scorpids don't have a family-specific AoE, there's always Thunderstomp. My guildies would affectionately refer to Scorponok as the "Tiny Tank" -- he even helped me solo Chillmaw, the frostwyrm you have to kill for an Argent Tournament daily. Quickstrike's disarm is kind of handy in pvp situations, but I think that would have been more appropriate for a Cunning Pet. Honestly, I don't know why they didn't just leave Scorpid Poison the way it was. Since I got Daggoth, my Jormungar, Scorponok's been taking a well-deserved rest in the stables when it comes to extreme soloing, but especially for non-BM's I'd still recommend a fully talented Scorpid as a fun Tenacity Pet, even if they're aren't quite as useful as they were before 4.0.1
Overall, I love Scorpids. I love their pretty, colourful looks, their attitudes and personality, just about everything about them. They may not be the most useful Tank in turns of family abilities anymore, but they're still a fun pet to have, and talents like Thunderstomp may make up for the lack in family ability. Anyone who loves bugs, or who just wants a more unusual non-exotic Tenacity pet, I think would still love Scorpids just as much as I do.
I like the white moth too -- I'll do a review for that one as soon as I dig myself out of my pile of schoolwork and can get my authenticator out of its anti-temptation hiding place.
Please don't give up on this thread -- I for one love it!
