Unfortunately the top of the fountain is in no way free of the clouds. I was standing up there along with Sonata for a single fight and at one point the spot was filled with smoke - almost got us killed there. XD It may be true that the clouds are less likely to go there, but it is far from being a completely safe spot.Tahlian wrote:I also found I could climb right up to the top tier of the fountain, though Cinders wouldn't reliably follow me up that high. I didn't dare actually do the encounter from up there, because I was afraid I would evade-bug the boss and waste one of our attempts. So no research yet on what happens if you do climb up there. If I could have gotten Cinders up there, I'd probably have put him on "stay" and left him up there, safely out of the reach of any puddles.

From what I've seen, if you want your pet out with you, keeping it on passive beside you is the safest bet. You just have to be mindful and watch not to let it stand in any puddles. Fun part is, if you follow the Purpel, Green, Freak-out guy order, you can send in your pet to snap at the Freakout, since all he does is throw the bottles, not deal specific damage himself. If you do decide to do this though, always keep Mend Pet up, because the pet will cross some puddles along the way.
This has worked reliably for me over the last few days, with very few deaths on my Wolfies part.

Re: New Love is in the Air bosses.
They may have fixed this problem.
I ran the Holiday Bosses yesterday, and just for kicks I brought my level 75 Core Hound (really level ?? because it's The Beast) because I figure he's going to die anyways.
To my surprise? He lived all 5 encounters without dying or even taking damage from what I saw. Maybe it was coincidence, but I clearly remember the other 2 days my pet would die near instantly. I have a pretty good feeling they fixed something.

For reals? If so, I obviously wasn't paying attention last night... I thought I was just doing at good job at dodging the puddles... I'll have to see today.

Yep, in a new hot fix today I saw on MMO Champion.
"In the Apothecary Frye encounter, area of effect damage has been reduced against pets."
Good. x.x Now I don't have to worry about my pet anymore.

Yeah, the boss actually resets if you take too long. Must have been close to the mark.Wassa wrote:Takes a long while but we got them, hehe.

Halleluja. \o/ Makes me wonder if they only just tweaked it though. o.O That would mean that it hadn't been fixed the last time I did the encounter, even though it felt like it...Aleu wrote:Yep, in a new hot fix today I saw on MMO Champion.

Re: New Love is in the Air bosses.
Confirmed! I sent my pet in right away today, and he took little to no damage at all!
Mend Pet is more then enough to take care of the little scratches they do manage to get!
Re: New Love is in the Air bosses.
Yeah...they most definitely fixed it. Clayburn has gone from being unable to be used at all to off-tanking one of the apothecaries while our group tank handles the other one, taunting the one with no aggro table from time to time.
He barely takes any damage.
