Nah, they were the result of a google search. My one couch does look like a 3-person version of that bottom one, but my other one is a cruddy hand-me-down.
Much gratitude to Spiritbinder for the signature and Vephriel for the avatar!<3
Ah, no couches here. I posted the following, regarding the Singing Sunflower quest chain, in a guild forum:
Brazie's Sunflower Quest Chain Strategy
Level requirement to start the quest chain: 20
I have found that the following strategy works very well for this quest line for the Brazie's Sunflower companion pet.
The following strategy works well for the final three parts in the quest chain (previous parts do not require such an involved strategy).
Note: The more flowers planted, the more Solar Power items come down which you pick up to build up your energy resource needed to plant additional items.
In order to receive your flower companion pet, you need to complete all 5 parts of the quest chain. The
first 2 parts are fairly simple to conquer. The third prepares you for the final two phases which are much more challenging. The last two are where a strategy is needed in order to avoid having your brains eaten
Quest Chain:
Basic Botany (spitters only - very easy)
Flower Power (flowers and spitters - also easy)
Ghouls Hate My Brains (flowers, spitters, freezyas, rocknuts and vines - not as easy)
Someone Setup the Pumpkin Bomb (flowers, spitters, freezas, rocknuts, vines and pumpkin bombs - challenging)
Lawn of the Dead (flowers, spitters, freezyas, rocknuts, vines and pumpkin bombs - toughest)
Items in your arsenal:
Sunflowers - increases the rate/number of Solar Power drops
Plant Spitter - offense (dps - shoots along single row)
Plant Freeza - defense/offense(slows mob and shoots along single row)
Plant Rocknut - defense item
Strangler Vine - defense/offense (high dps - will also grab mobs from nearby squares)
Pumpkin Bomb - offense (will cause large damage to nearby mobs)
For Parts 1-4, the only way your plants will die is if the zombies, etc. kill them.
For Part 5, besides the zombies directly killing your plants, the Warden will occasionally spread disease which will kill multiple of your plants (just replenish as you can).
Basics (for my instructions)
- The playing field consists of a 5x8 grid (Columns are numbered from left to right): C C C C C C C C 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 R1* * * ** * * * R2* * * ** * * * R3* * * ** * * * R4* * * ** * * * R5* * * ** * * * | | ||| | | | | | ||| | --- | | ||| | Rocknuts or Bombs (as needed) | | ||| | | | || --- | | || Vines | | || | | | - | | | Spitters or Freezas | | | ------- Flowers
Note: I also found that using Freezas in Column 5 behind one row of vines works nicely too.
Reserve first 3 cols for flowers (more flowers give you more solar power drops to pick up)
Reserve 4th col for spitters
Reserve 5-6th cols for vines (you could also place freezas in col 5)
Use 7th-8th cols for rocknuts and pumpkin bombs (an occasional freeze spitter can also be intermixed)
Vines are your main defense/offense for Parts 3-5 and do the most damage (after the pumpkin bombs). The vines also do a great job of grabbing zombies, etc. from surrounding squares.
Part 3 - To Start:
Put down 3 flowers in first col
Put down rocknut(s) in front of the first incoming zombies
Continue filling in flowers in the first 2 cols as you can
Put down the spitters in col 4
Once vines become available, start putting them down in rows 4 and 5
Just keep replenishing your flowers, spitters (or freezas) and vines
Note: Freezas and Vines will become available later on from a grain sack (1st - Freeza, 2nd - Vine)
Part 4 - To Start:
Put down 3 flowers in first col
Put down rocknut(s) in front of the first incoming zombies
Continue filling in flowers in the first 3 cols as you can
Put down the spitters in col 4
Put down the vines as soon as you can after the rocknuts are blocking
I only use the pumpkin bombs for the patchworks (end of part 4) or when I have nothing else to put down
Part 5 (final - Warden) - To Start:
Use the same approach as previously stated in Part 4
After some time the Warden will appear (he will lurk at column 8 going up and down - doesn't move in)
Always use pumpkin bomb when available on the Warden
Replace any fallen flowers, spitters, freezas, vines as necessary
(lots of your plants will be lost during this phase)
Hope that helps you to get your Brazie Sunflower companion pet
