Siggy under construction!
Isn't the greatest form of flatery supposed to be imitation? Why do they think sites like deviant art exsist? People learn and develop their own art by looking at how others do their thing so ofcourse sometimes stuff is going to look similuar!! Its like when people say "oh you don't draw you just copy other peoples characters" whatever... I had a GM who told us she was an artist but refused to show us or put her stuff online incase someone "copied it". Wtf is the point then?cowmuflage wrote:I was trying my best not to join that on Tumblr but I'm weak and did XDLupisDarkmoon wrote:Very few things make me angrier than people assuming someone stole art just because two designs look similar. -.- Sorry, that's how art works. There are a million artists all creating original things. You think they aren't going to look similar every now and then?
I've been accused of art theft because my stuff looks like others or the pose is the same! It's dumb.

I've done basic colorings of lineart before. I suck at it but I've done it but I always made sure to ask first.cowmuflage wrote:One of the only times I'd say it's not okay is when you see people on Deviantart who just trace a drawing and/colour something and say it's theirs with out giving credit to the person who made it in the first place. If I saw someone do that to my art I don't think I'd be very happy about it. Maybe I'd be fine if they asked but most of the time when I see that on DA they don't give credit where credit is due ya know?
It's fine to draw your own work with others characters but if it's just a simple line trace? or a colouring on a B/W work? I think you should ask the person who made it first before putting the pen to paper/tablet or else that's a form of art theft. That's my 2 cents.
When I say that I mean when you put it online! Indeed traceing/copying is a very good form of learning how to improve your art but it's best not to put that online and say it's your own work and when I mean copying I mean when you draw a picture 100% the same. Gah you guys get what I mean right?
Eveytime I make a edit to this it seems to get more confuseing to me @.@
Yeah I'd be fine if someone wanted to do my work like that if they asked. I'd more then likely say yes!Junrei wrote:I've done basic colorings of lineart before. Just did the eye paste and while the vet made it look easy it's not that hard! Just had to get mum to pin her down and it was smooth sailing from there!cowmuflage wrote:Went to the vet and Minnie has both a viral and bacterial infection of her airways and it's a very good thin she has been vaccinated. Now we have to give her a paste once a day and a paste that goes in her eyes twice a day and some other drug on Saturday for 3 days. That eye paste is going to be so fun....not!
