Re: Random Pet Challenge [v4.0]
After a long night of junk food, music, and accidental naps, I finally saw her wander through my flare.
I'm just lucky that I was present at the time. I threw Hunter's Mark on her and watched her move along the path a little before I tamed her.
I named her Hyacinth. She seems to like it.
EDIT: I wouldn't mind another one lol, Same parameters, except i'm now level 87, if that's alright

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v4.0]
The moment I saw the pet I needed, I knew it was going to be a long run. Not wanting to risk my luck with the only other mob this pet had that was within my level range (a rare in the Highlands, the continent of which I'd just left in favor of doing Felwood quests), I instead set out on my journey to Tanaris.

Now see, the only small problem I had was... I had no flight paths in this place at all, having spent all of my time in Eastern Kingdoms plugging away at killing the undead scourge of the plaguelands. Which meant, unfortunately for me, my wolf, and my poor chestnut mare, a long swim.

(You can almost hear the Old Gods laughing at my pain.)
My hatred for swimming now being known through the Nether, I dutifully hopped off the broken elevator platform and set my sights on the long, chugging swim ahead of me...

And a very...

Very...

Very long swim it was.
I don't think me n' Lumos have been so excited to see dry land, even if it was in the form of God forsaken desert. Kissing the ground a few times and wailing my despair seemed to rub off on Lum because he was constantly snuffling at the ground while we were there, and after stabling him and setting out into the desert I could tell that I was glad I had the free time to actually do this.

But I still had a vulture to tame, so running my blue tail over to one of the many giant piles of bones -- this one being farmed by different people, which meant I had to grab myself a bird quick -- I found the object of my task and set about putting his feathery tail on ice.

I decided to leave the naming to when I got to a much safer place, so me and the newly tamed vulture started our way back across the sands to Gadgetzan, where I christened the flappy thing with the name Talbot. Because there's nothing like having one's own messenger of destruction at their side.

I decided to head back to Felwood at that point, seeing as I still need to get at least one shot of Tal in action and, with nothing but totally unsarcastic farewells to Tanaris, hopped a Gryphon and blew that popsicle stand like it was going out of style.

Now in the way of carrion birds, the only thing I really don't particularly enjoy is their clunky-looking feet and odd tail feathers; everything else, from the way they sound, to their idle and fighting animations, are completely fine in my book. They even have a good pool of diverse colors to choose from, if one doesn't enjoy the plain, boring-looking colors that some members of the family sport.

(Gaze and bask in my laziness not to turn the dps counter off.)
All in all, Ey has quite a few (i.e: two other) flappy friends in her stables already and I'm even planning on adding another in the future once she reaches the right level, but I don't see why Tal can't stay for awhile, at least until he's called back to the deserts to munch on unsuspecting carrion.

Taming Report
Target: Brown Cat / Mountain Lion skin
I had to hop a quick flight to Thunderbluff, but realizing that halfway, my hearthstone was ringing to Bloodhoof's chimes. ...Oh well, I got to scope out the savannah all the same, which was nice. After running down to the main plateau , I asked Bulrug to kindly watch my tallstrider, Iyozital, for a while, which he agreed to.

The elevator's always worried me, as I prefer being on solid ground, only natural for us Taurens, I'd say. As I made my way around the plateau's wall's a cat struck my eye, as it was stalking towards me. I took out a chunk of meat for the poor, slim thing. My thanks however was mostly some quick swipes, but the beast gave in as I gently petted it more.

Despite it's frail appearance, it was quick to set upon a wolf who probably wanted to steal my meat. The cat held the wolf's attention well, and took it out on it's own, before I could unload a bullet. That made me decide on a name right then and there; Acagmesk. It fit the cat, who was female, from her larger frame, I realized.

Unfortunately for a tallstrider, Acag set upon the bird too fast for me to stop. I fell a bit worried for my Iyo now, as she ate the bird. ...I now know I'll have to train her a lot, then slowly introduce my Iyozital to her new friend.

Acgamesk was a speedy one, always darting around to catch up, then surprisingly kept up with my large, Tauren gait. As I neared the elevator back to Thunderbluff - still wondering how they worked, Acag sprang around, strangle giddy to see the fields from higher up. It made sense, as I found her trying to climb the sides - she's a height's lover it seems.

We flew back to Orgrimmar together, she almost jumped from my lap into the savannah on the winder rider's low dip. I had to hold Acag tight on that scare. As we got down to the main gate, my little terror almost set upon a table of meat, which I dragged her away from. Seems she's a bottomless pit of a mountain lion, I'll have to remember that...

Acagmesk stopped in front of a message board, attrached by the flapping papers. I pulled one down that listed someone in the Northern Barrens named Kargal Battlescar, at Far Watch Post needed aid, which I guessed was the savannah we've been flying through. Acagmesk was almost going to head there herself, as I ran to catch up. Eager one.

Night was setting fast in Durotar, and our energy waned a bit, causing the two of us to walk, heading to the only road I saw pointing to the Barrens. In the lower light, I loked over my newest companion more, and finally noticed a golden streak across her sides. The bright sun from my home in Mulgore hid this fact, and only made me love Acagmesk more.

The air was chilling fast, so we both decided to stop and rest by a nearby bonfire. She might be a handful, but I'm definitely keeping Acagmesk for sure... once I teach her not all tallstrider's are meals.

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v4.0]
Well, these last few days have been exciting. I left the Wandering Isle, and joined the Horde. Upon being deemed worthy by the Warchief, I had looked around at that capital city a bit. It looked rough, rugged, and threatening. I wanted to be like that. First, I would start with my pet. Not that Selva, my lovely dragon turtle was anything bad, but from the looks some of the other hunters where giving me, I could tell she wasn't exactly what they where looking for in a true horde hunter. I didn't know what pet to get that would be more fitting. In a true pandarian way, I sat on the top rock that over looked a waterfall, and meditated. It hadn't been long before a figure had come to me. It was a Tiger, a great big one, pure white except for it's blue stripes. In the dream, I had looked up at the beast in awe, even as it spoke, "Hello there, young hunter, I am the beast of the Hunter God, Tyger. You are in trouble, are you not? You seek a pet that would be better deeming in the eyes of your peers. I think I have just what you need. I have two different choices for you. First up in a yellow boar." The tiger had showed me an image of a yellow boar, "The next is a fierce Crocolisk." The tiger had showed me the image of the croc, "Choose wisely." The dream faded, and I had been left with a decision to make. I sat atop the waterfall, pondering. I had seen my peers running around with both boars and the crocs, and they both looked good. I had decided to go with the croc, I liked it's looks better.
I went to the local hunter trainer, a friendly Tuaren. he notified me that the lowest level croc was all the way in the middle of Allaince territory...and was still too high of a level for me to befriend it. Sighing, I had decided that I would train. and train. and train. And that's what I had done. I had gone out to Silverpine forest, after making a short detour in Brill to get some Easter chocolate.
It didn't take me long to work my way through Silverpine forest, and soon I was ready. I had traded my Jade crossbow for a regular bow, and I had geared up some more. I had leveled over, to make sure that getting to the corc would be easy. I had been warned that just getting there would be the hard part, and befriending her would be easy. I had some older hunters who had taken me under their wing. they gave me several rare mounts, to make getting to the croc easy. and a lot less painful. The older hunters where more experienced in hunting much rare pets. Pets that would only be seen at a certain time, and only for a short period of time. They had taught me how to be patient, and they had also taught me how to ride. I hesitantly got onto the horse they gave me to try out. I didn't, and I still don't think the beast likes me much.

Thankfully, once I had taken the horse out running, it seemed to be a tad bit more happy with me.

Anyways, once the horse decided that it would listen to me a little, I went out to begin the long journey deep into Alliance territory to find this croc. While I was traveling through Silverpine forest, I had been thrown off the road by numerous forest Ettins. I had learned one thing right there, if I see a forest Ettin coming, MOVE. My rear is still sore from getting bucked off the horse as the beast moved out of the way,. It did not help that the forest Ettins would then kick my rear if I didn't move fast enough.
The treck through Hillsbrad Foothills was rather easy, the road led straight through. With the exception of a stay worgen, I had been left mostly to myself and my bad tempered horse. Next came the hard part: Arathi Highlands. I am of a way too low level to even attempt at killing the mobs in that area, much less even venturing through. Yet, I still had gone through there. It was raining in the Highlands, which had made me wet, and my horse even more bad tempered. If I had not kept such a tight grip on the reigns, I think that horse would have run me off a cliff or something. I am starting to like this horse though, it's keeping me on my toes.
It had taken awhile, and numerous bandages (most had come from the horse bucking me off and into a group of spiders or raptors or something), but I had finally crossed the Highlands. The only thing that had stood in front of me was now the Wetlands, and then a little bit of Loch Modon. One of my older hunter friends said that the Wetlands was where I was going to encounter the most mobs coming after me, and I had to be careful of the alliance bases. She had said that when she was just a young Tuaren, the tiger had sent her after the same croc.
Anyways, I had stood at the end of the bridge, staring into the wetlands. It seemed easy enough. Oh how I had been wrong. The first thing I had encountered was a group of Alliance scouts. My stupid self, and the horse, had ran straight through the group. As my horse ran in the opposite direction, I had started to laugh. Even now, just thinking about those scout's startled faces as a screaming panda on a green flaming horse ran through their group makes me giggles. Once they had recovered, they started to chase me. Thank god it wasn't raining, and the horse obeyed me...a little. Good thing I had kept a very tight hold on the reigns. Thankfully, after that the rest of the Wetlands had gone rather easily. I made my way up the dwarven tunnels into the Loch. I knew I had this in the bag now. Well, I had finally gotten to the little island where the croc was supposed to be...and she wasn't there. I had let out a huge sigh, and let me head drop. Beneath me, I swore I could hear the horse laughing at me. While I had been waiting, I had decided to look at the crocs around me. At first glance, they didn't look very appealing. But, as I had looked closer, I found that they are rather interesting! They had six legs, and moved in an adorable waddle! it was rather weird at first, they looked rather uncomfortable walking how they did, but after awhile I kind of got used to it.
Ok, After I had waited for forever and a day, the croc finally appeared...right on top of me. How a croc just suddenly appears in mid-air, I shall never know. One of the many hunter mysteries of this world. Anyways, I had jumped about, trying to clam Selva down. My Turtle had jumped at the croc, and was tying to kill her. I did not want that, so I had hastily sent her away.

That's my tail it has in it's mouth!

Anyways, after I had calmed the croc down, and gotten my tail out of it's mouth, I looked to over. I rather liked it, but to complete it, it needed a name and a gender. The first thing that had popped into my head was Fuiuchi, which means Surprise. I rather like this name, and it seemed to perfectly fit a Female pet. So, meet Fuiuchi, the female croc. Who has a strange fasination with my tail.
The first thing that I had noticed was her eyes. They're a stunning green color, and it feels like she's staring at my soul.. rather creepy, but I have a feeling that's why I like her so much. that and-
*a split mess of ink here as Fuiuchi tugs at Faleia's tail again*
Fuiuchi is an excellent fighter. She leaps forwards and snaps her jaws on the enemy.

And I do think that my peers do like me new croc. They are not staring at me as though I'm some sort of lost Misfit. I think I'll keep asking this tiger creature for more help.

THAT'S MY TAIL FUIUCHI!

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v4.0]
Arriving in Booty Bay made me reconsider why. Under all the new smells was still the sweaty, slimy stink of greed. Goblins. Ugh. Nasty little things. I took the first windrider out of there to the north. From there, I followed the river to Westfall, the human region my next assignment was in. I couldn't help drawing parallels between Mulgore and this land. The waves of golden grass flowing in the wind, the squeels of dying gnolls from far away. Lynch, my prairie wolf seemed to agree, frolicking freely. That was, until we got to Moonbrook.

I was sickened. These despicable humans were too busy mistreating each other to notice my presence. I had no trouble making my way to the hidden mine underneath the nearly ruined town. My assignment was simple. Kill the humans and traitor goblins, orders I could get behind. Lynch and I were happily slaughtering everyone in sight, until he took a large piece of wood to the flank from an exploding barrel. Unable to slow down, I sent him back to the entrance and pushed forward. I was stopped cold a little ways later. Worse than traitors, these goblins were slave drivers.

I hadn't been this enraged since I found the looters in Taurajo. I quickly began freeing the prisoners, who turned on their oppressors.

It wasn't until we got to the end of that tunnel that I noticed a small brown monkey trailing behind me. I ignored him and continued on, until I found myself in the stinkiest trouble ever. I was about to suffocate from the toxic fumes, when I heard a high pitched scream, and then another from the goblin!

Saved from the worst possible death imaginable, my new companion continued to impress me. Calm out of battle, he was fearless in the face of our enemies, whether it was a group of humans or a huge robot. Occasionally, he would return to my side suddenly, seemingly laughing. It took me a while to realize why. I couldn't help but smile at the dead pirate with a face full of something stinky. I watched more carefully, and myself laughing at the dumbfounded morons. Laughing for the first time in years, it felt like.
We finally made our way to the top deck, only to be confronted with the second most horrifying enemy I had ever faced. Even then, my little friend, now riding on my shoulder, showed no fear, charging in with a high pitched scream.

The filthy place was finally cleaned out a few moments later, and together, we made our way back to Thunder Bluff. We found a quiet spot to watch his mischief. He would come and go, exploring one minute, then coming back for a few pets. His fur was as smooth as velvet. He seemed to agree when I asked him about it.

Together, with Velvet and Lynch, I headed back to Dustwallow, this time with the confidence to slay dragons. He's a sturdy little thing, I have to say. I'm glad I made the trip.
OOC: I've had a monkey before, but couldn't really get into him, probably because he was a color I didn't like, and I didn't want a pick ax model. Velvet actually felt very natural with Soma, and he is surprisingly durable for a cunning pet, taking two to three mobs with a mend pet, which is very important for me. Thanks!
