You'll actually get a Lucario later with the stone after the 3rd gym (it's also when you learn how to use mega-evolutions).

So Mega-Charizard X is a... greeny-black? Hrm... Now if I was to ever get a shiny Charizard, I'd actually prefer the Y version over the X...
Also I reeeeeeeally wanna know what Pyroar's shiny looks like since I now have an American Litleo to breed with!

Look likes Litleo is a tan color, so probably the same for Pyroar.

Yeah I guess so. Better than ALIEN GREEN like Espeon or something. -.- Plus, I might give it a go anyway, if getting shinies really is as easy as it appears to be. Which reminds me, someone on a forum posted videos of them finding shiny patches like in gen 4? Idk I missed out on Diamond/Pearl so I don't know much about the Pokéradar stuffs. But whatever it is, it's back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nLvsV99Sqw

Nah, that's not odd at all. I spent all day yesterday hunting high and low for a female Riolu because my Lucarios absolutely HAVE to be female in honor of the very first one I ever trained back in Gen IV. This gifted Lucario will more than likely be male, anyway, which makes me glad I was stubborn and never gave up because I found my lady Riolu. She's taking forever and a day to evolve, but I love her to bits, and when she and my event Torchic (now a Combusken) finally evolve, I plan on breeding them for a (female) Riolu that knows Blaze Kick.

*falls over laughing!* XD

Finally got my Honedge, had the opposite problem of when I was hunting for my Riolu. Every other Honedge I ran into was female when I wanted a male. Looks like a trend. @_@

For those hunting the Kanto birds:

You can ONLY hunt one bird: Chespin users get Articuno....Fennekin users get Zapdos...Froakie users get Moltres. The birds flee as soon as they are found (even before you get to attack)...but after they flee enough times, they'll wait for you at the Sea Spirit's Den...where they will actually fight.

New breeding mechanics:

You can now pass DW abilities from father to baby rather than needing a DW mom.

The baby will be in the same type of pokeball as the mother.

Okay, so Delphox was my least favorite of all the starters, until I saw this awesome pic that someone did on DA. Aaaand now I think I need it. Every time I see it I'm going to think of how epic the drawing looks. I also think it looks strangely male in the pic, so now mine also needs to be male. :D

Has anyone else decided to go with Fennekin when they didn't think they liked it? How do you feel about it now?

(Edit: Links to the other starters - Greninja and Chesnaught :))

Aye I did. I think the fact it ends up using a wand sold me. I wanted mine to be female though. Her name is Wysteria. :D

That's also my phone background. If you wanna talk Delphox fan art Rhyela I can send you many a picture.

To start out I liked Fennekin the most, Froakie midway and Chespin the least. After originally seeing their evolved forms I didn't really care for any of them, but then there was the picture of Greninja in poke-amie that really made me like him, and I ended up going for him. Ended up liking Delphox after a while and I kinda prefer it now, thankfully it's the second starter I'll be getting. Still can't say I like Chesnaught that much, though even he's growing on me. I first saw the thing on his back as a shell, but now it's more of a cape to me. And I actually love Chespin now, after being in a few battles against it! Absolutely cannot get over that horrid middle form, though xD.

Those pictures of all three are just so lovely though. Makes me want them all!

Froakie's been my favourite since the beginning, and I'm so, SO impressed with its evolution line! I was worried that it would be my favourite starter but then turn out with mediocre evolutions, but it's by far the best looking to me. I'm really pleased with them, they look fantastic. :)

I actually ended up loving them all. Pretty much this entire gen I like. I can only think of maybe 1 I dislike? This is by far the best Pokémon game in my opinion. I'm having SO much fun!

This is definitely one of the best pokemon games, perhaps even the best.

I wasn't sure if the 3D (and I don't necessarily mean the actual 3D switch on the 3DS, just the animations and such in general) was going to make a big difference, but it's really brought life and personality to the pokemon. SoulSilver has been my absolute favourite game, personally, forever, but X/Y might just top it. I've only just beaten the 2nd gym and I've already put so many hours into the game, there's just so much to do and explore, and I've had fun every minute.

Yes! This! I love the mix of all the different gens and I love seeing my favorite babies come to life. Zigzagoon has proven just how cute it really is in this game. I LOVE the little zig zag running animation it uses for its attacks like OH.MY.GOD. <3

I restarted once already because I took Bulbasaur over Charmander and I just couldn't feel that it worked for me. Also I took Amaura because it seemed so much cuter and it just.. I don't know then I saw Tyrunt close up and just died with the cuteness.
