I'm honestly failing to find any articles or anything on this subject. If it were real, there'd be media coverage of some kind. But there's nothing. How are people being told it's real?

I'm hedging that the snake thing is internet rumor too since I can't find anything about it either.

SFX has gotten pretty damn good lately... someone was probably like 'omfg that can't be FX' and suddenly tumblr exploded or something.

I Googled it and it was the first thing to pop up. They asked if the snake was real (why? IDK) and he said it was. I saw more than one source too

eh frankly the more I see it the less I think it's real. There is no proof that it's real besides some people saying it was real and that's not real proof that it was real.

I mean no one has brought out any proof that it was real besides "I was told it was a real snake" and that's not proof.

Well, my own quick search revealed that they did use a real snake in the episode, but they did not really kill the snake.

Okay, what?! I'm not supporting this, obviously, but the judge called the boy 'unsophisticated' and 'immature'? Uhm... yes? HE'S 13. Of course he's immature?! He probably had no idea what he was actually doing. Yes this is sick but I almost feel like they're being a bit too harsh on the boy. Maybe I'm the only one that feels that way, and no I'm not saying they should've just let him get away with raping his sister, but he's a kid. A really young kid. Him and his friends probably looked at porn 'for the lulz' because they know they're not meant to be and it's something new to them. I feel like the parents should've been much more involved here. I think the judge is an absolute moron. Of course he's 'immature' he's a 13 year old boy for crying out loud, you expect him to act maturely at that age?

Yes, he raped his sister. Yes, that's wrong in every single way, but I feel like the judge saying 'he'll do it again' and registering him as a sex offender is somewhat ridiculous. And then there's the comment his little sister apparently made... that broke my heart. She had no idea what was going on, it's wrong and it's disgusting but really it doesn't seem to matter to her what he did... She loves him. :/

Also, same subject but another mini-rant, apparently he watched the porn with his friends on his Xbox and now for that reason they're slapping Xbox controllers and photos all over the articles to make gaming look bad. I suppose media really will do everything they can to make gaming look as evil as possible, sigh. Ignorant fucks.

Norman Reedus himself was interviewed and talked about the snake being real, even saying they gave pieces of it to other cast members.

There were multiple sites talking about it, (x) (x), but now that first site seems to be backpedaling and saying no, it was not a real snake. So potentially good news!

If it was some sort of joke it was really bad taste, but I will be glad if it's all proven to be wrong just out of sheer relief. There were a lot of angry animal lovers last night and I think it stirred up more than they bargained for, which is what I was hoping for so we could get to the bottom of it.

I'm still leery as we don't really have much information other than the same site saying "no", but hopefully more will come out.

I think it was just a poor joke, especially given that Norman Reedus himself is known for supporting animal rights.

I hope people will in the future will do research into things before people getting up in arms about things. Like if the news site is knowen to make things sound worse for veiw counts (I see way to many people falling for those :/) and stuff like that. (also see where articles get their info from because most of the time it's other sites articles)

Oh hell who am I kidding people can't be bothered reading an article fully let alone use google. Just look at most of the things people fall for on Tumblr that can be found to be fake with a simple google search :S

Not saying people here are like that but people in general on the internet are like this and it's sad.

Trust me the first thing I did when I started hearing about it last night was look up sources, and I was finding the interview everywhere, plus actual video footage of him talking about it. That's not something to joke about, especially the scene in question, and everyone was justifiably upset.

I *did* try to do my research into it, I already said that in a previous post. As others said too, there's not that much out there to go off. I just assumed it to be true since Veph and Lupis seemed quite sure of themselves. I also don't watch the Walking Dead so I wasn't too sure where to look. There's barely anyone talking about a real snake being killed bar some commenters on various sites.

Nearly all of the talk I've seen has been on Tumblr and you really can't trust that site for these kinds of things most of the time.

I'm not sure it was a 'poor joke' as much as 'any press is good press'. stir up a bunch of fuss about any program and that amounts to more watchers. How many more people watched the show just to see them kill an ostensibly real snake? Even if only to get angry about it?

Views are views and these people (ESPECIALLY the Walking Dead media group) are no strangers to internet hype.

tbh this whole snake thing reminds me of the bat incident that Ozzy Ozbourne went through. I also don't really know where I stand on the matter, because I've found that it's much better to sit back and make sure everything is either true or false before doing anything more...
