I've never done any rein linking, it's just not reliable.
Like, I'm going to keep those reins in my bags for a while, I'm not thinking of selling them by all means, but they might become a present for someone so... if someone tries to link the reins they'll always show up as being looted as long as I carry seahorsey in my bags?

RAGE WARNING. The reins just started linking on my realm.... but NOBODY is admitting any knowledge of a kill. I don't know if he was skinnable; I'd been in my own camp spot for about 10 minutes (had stopped patrolling due to many campers), and then they were linking. Hoping it's just that silly unreliability of the reins : /

Been here since patch day bar one or two achievement bits, and slept two or three times. And then someone else has probably wandered along cluelessly and found it.

I just have to say, I ******* hate RNG, rare spawns and all this other crap. I like the idea of a seahorse, useable anywhere. I like having many mounts, and am a completionist. But anything RNG or rare just screws me over every time--and the amount of time I feel OBLIGATED to put into it isn't freaking healthy.

I would just not think anything of the reins linking since from what I read with TLPD reins and all, its not a trust worthy thing and sme are saying it may even go through the battlegroup as well, so just keep searching and dont give up ^.^

Yeah I think the belief that linking the reins = item was found on the server is not reliable.

Yeah, the fact that it became linkable but I couldn't find either a body or anyone (among us campers) who had seen it on Horde *or* ally (and between of us we had 3/5 spawns covered + patrols)... fairly sure it's mostly pointless.

I keep getting various people whispering me telling me that "x mob will spawn at y o'clock," and that certain rares always spawn at certain times on our realm, or that the reins are completely reliable. These same people insist that TLPD and Aeonaxx spawn at certain times, despite them being only a *chance* to spawn in another rare's place. It's irritating having to explain over, and over, and over that this stuff is just wrong, and quite annoying when they simply disregard this and carry on with the explanation The price of talking to fellow campers, I guess.

What kills me is I've killed Poseidus before. I just doubt the GM would give me the reins for that.

i have killed him a handful of times, and so has my boyfriend. it does not feel good.

I have yet to see him, and I'm not even sure he's been killed here even though the reins have been linked properly in chat.. A guildie recently spoke of several other unconfirmed spawn points, one near the Shimmering Grotto for instance.. Wowhead says nothing as far as I can tell, and I will take it with a grain of salt until further notice, but I wondered if anyone else has heard or seen anything?

I too have been doing some occasional camping and i found n killed 3 rares all within 10 min of eachother (literally, they were practically beside eachother and lol i can turn into a ghostly pirate gnome now!) and also saw ghostcrawler but he's usually up anyways since hes so out of the way and unkillable but no Poseidus i dont think hes back in our US versions or hes on some whacky timer

I'm pretty sure they put him on par with the other 5 man Rare bosses. Since he now drops the mount and another BOE epic his timer is probably in the realm of 72 hours.

Quite a way to farm gold though, I've heard of reins actually selling for 100-150k, whereas its being listed in the 200+ range on alot of servers.

To think about it though in another light, he's probably on par with TLPD or Aeonaxx, the one problem is that you're not going to have (Vyragosa / That one bat) sightings that can give you a break for 6 hours

Poseidus has started to spawn on the EU servers again, according to a german wow site:
