It's 1 of 2 opinions for the most part. Do what you want or have some respect.
While I understand the respect part I will continue to use Magria as my pet of choice. I like Magria. I won't sacrifice my happiness for someone else.
I don't run around Molten front getting my spiders or skarr and kirkin out just to grief people. I did happen to take a bunch of screenshots today in molten front with my various pets and got a /scowl from a horde hunter. After I was done I logged over to my horde toon and told them exactly what I was doing. They know me from seeing me around the zone and helping them tame deth a few times. They thought I was just being a prick at first but when I explained myself they were very cool. I actually ended up putting my horde toon in their guild after that and also have that particular hunter on realid now.
Now on the subject of the hunter who "yelled" at me. He can piss off. I don't go out of my way to upset people unless provoked. If I see him again you can be damn sure I will pull out every new rare I have. I won't go so far as to kill any rares but I will be glad to pull aggro enough to make it painful for him. If he was polite about it this would be a non-issue. But alas, he was a dick. Sucks to be him anytime I am around.
Ya know, I've noticed this over the past few days and it seems like people are getting a little bitter over it. I believe Kalliope said it earlier....It's a quest hub, there is bound to be just as many false positives on NPCscan as you would get just sitting in Org/Stormwind. The only difference is, you get a very startling noise and if you're camping it can be a real downer. I personally would rather see it as a hunter's pet then dead in the middle of the regrowth like I found a poor Ban'th earlier today.
A false positive isn't the end of the world, yeah, it might be considered rude, and I myself can spend time bonding with my new spider in Hyjal and Ban'th in the molten front.
I'm just one of those, but I don't see any reason why you can't play the way you'd like to. People all play differently! Some people raid and make sure they have the best pets possible for the job, some people are like me and only raid casually and get other pets that we just like. I at least make sure that I have the main buff pets covered in that rare chance that I do get invited to a raid from time to time for the 10mans, when it comes to 25mans...raids usually tend to have all the buffs covered and I'm free to use a favored pet.
With these new pets...I only put the Hyjal trio in because, I myself was looking for Ban'th, but I was logging in and out every couple hours and doing other things on another toon, he's really, really not that hard to spot and neither are the kitties. I got a false positive on Anhka the other day, but I was happy to see it was the one I managed to keep a mage from killing. As long as you're not griefing, In my opinion, it's kinda a no harm, no foul deal.
As for the hunter who chewed you out. Well, yeah...that was a bit much, but saying you'd now go out of your way to harass him for it is a bit much too. That's just bad Juju, my friend and Karma usually has a way of finding it's way back to the creator. He's probably had one too many sleepless nights hunting, jerkish...maybe so, but it's not a good reason for you to add to the already high tensions. Just do yer thing and let him do his. This patch has just made people explode on one another worse then they should have already. All in all, that's just my two cents.
