I don't see what's so bad about this. It's a lot better than paying hundreds for a spectral tiger... so it's not exactly a new concept.

I'll have to think about this one... it's very tempting to buy it... I'd like to see one in game first and go from there :3

EDIT: Oh wow, I just logged on and there are LOADS of people flying/running around with them xD Kind of takes away some of the coolness, if everyone has one... oh well. We shall see.

To date, nothing the Blizzard pet store has sold or made available has had any mechanical in-game advantage.

Except for achievements. All these mini pets and mounts count towards achievements with in game rewards. Same goes for the multitude of mini pets available through the trading game.

Side note: In game, these are kind of fugly. Definitly not something I'd spend cash on even if I had the cash to spend. Also the new mini pet the XL something or other, doesn't shut up! I was in Dal surrounded by the new mount and mini pet and I couldn't figure out why it sounded like my house was haunted by a little girl ghost. It was the mini pet!

Omg. I had a weak moment and got the mini pet robot. If anyone is thinking about doing it consider carefully. If another char brings out a robot pet or the toy train it breaks them and yells loudly all of dal wanted to kill my pet including myself within ten minutes. lol it is really big though and will look nice next to a goblin...still the vocals are harsh...like migraine creating harsh.

The more I think about this... sure, it's an easy way to get a nifty looking mount in game, granted you have the money, but... it kind of feels like they're milking the WoW cash cow, and they sure are making a lot with this.

My hearth is set to Dalaran and when I logged in... wow, the steed lag was pretty amazing. Kind of takes away some of the coolness of the mount, if every where you look, there's another steed. =\

It's like that with any new mount. Remember when Netherdrakes were THE mount to have? It was a status symbol if you could spend the money on the flying training and the time to grind out the mount. Now you hardly ever see them. Heck, I remember when having the Bronze Drake was a big deal, because back then, Heroic CoS was actually difficult. Like all shiny new toys, these will fade into obscurity someday (or at least when the next latest and greatest comes out).
