That's funny lol, the face changes colors with the armor.

Ya know, Icecrown always has like a blue shade on everything there, maybe try that place? Not logged in anymore to see myself. Can't think of any others off the top of my head that you can mount up in...maybe Zangar. I think Felwood has something too. Maybe try Blackrock near all the lava.

Haha, Icecrown does the same thing as Moonglade, the armor turns green.

Wow, those are some really pretty colors. I like the black armor on the red. That blue one above though remings me of the kaliri's colors. Would be nice to see a clearer SS of it. trying to think if theres anywhere that give a purple aura...

I wonder if the Shadowform would look different between the glyphed/unglyphed S.Priests...

The red aura of Blackrock Mountain, which only taints certain parts of objects (I think basically it won't touch any glow effect regions):

One of my favourite ever debuff auras, Gehennas' Curse (from Gehennas in Molten Core). Sadly the drake didn't come out as purple as I expected, but very beautiful:

Ooh, Gehenna's Curse was a good idea Wain. I agree it's one of the prettiest debuffs. :) It is a shame it doesn't come out all purple and cloudy, but it still looks cool!

Wain wrote:I'd have preferred it to be obtainable in the game too. Both because the store tends to lend a cheapish feel to a beautiful design and also because to a lot of people, kids and teens especially but also folks with kids and mortgages, that extra $25 means a lot and is hard to justify for one mount.

Having said that I wouldn't want it as rare rng or as elite raid. I always ALWAYS value personal hard work achievements more. Like the pink protodrake for example. In this case I would have preferred something that could be achieved in the LFR version of Dragon Soul through personal persistence and work. LFR is no scarier than 5 man pugs so there's not many it would exclude.

I don't get the need to pick the model to pieces though. I think it's stunning. Reusing skeletons is good sense. Creating new ones that fit every aspect of the game would add an insane amount of extra time to it. And I assumed the flying backwards effect of the hover was a logical hover for its flying style but maybe I'm wrong.
I see it as WoW as a hobby, and to be faire, $25 bucks is not alot for a mount giving to all your charecters present, and upcomming. Lets say that WoW goes on for 5 more years ( i hope more), then you have payed 25 $ for something whichs stays with you for 5 years... I think it all comes down to perspective. For my husband and me, WoW is a hobby we enjoy, and tbh a cheap hobby ;)

I will get it as soon as i can afford it, which will probally be in a few months. I dont feel any ppain in having to wait until i can afford stuff. I will eventually get my sparklepony, my panda monk vanity pet etc, just a matter of time ;) - and if they should disapear before i should have the luck of getting them - then i will be happy for those who manage to get them in time, and just look forward to see what other joy my hobby might bring me

At first glance I was a bit disappointed, but ultimately I'm glad it didn't come out too purple. The subtle shading effects are quite beautiful. :)

One more: the Black Blood debuff from Blacksting in Zangarmarsh. It looks like he's been left burning a bit too long:

RE: Mage using trinket to make it blue

It's this trinket: http://www.wowhead.com/item=72898

:) Any of you can get it to play around with as it isn't class restricted.

I hadn't seen the announcement about the mount anywhere before I saw people riding some in Org last night. At first I thought maybe it was some Dragon Soul achievement mount, but a look on Wowhead set me straight.

I rather like it. Yeah, the lack of a ground animation is kinda annoying, but still, it's a very pretty mount.

Blizzard must've made a fortune last night. When I went to the store, the queue to process the purchase was over 19,900. That was at about 6pm Eastern, so not even prime time in most of the US.

I came here to see what the opinions of real wow collectors are and it's like a breath of fresh air! Battle.net forums are AWFUL there's so much flaming and hatred towards Blizzard and the people who like the mount.

I was feeling all "special snowflake" last night when I redeemed my Vicious Grell card from TCG and had my new pet out. So from booty Bay I fly back to Stormwind and find myself faced with SO MUCH GOLD. They were not there when I left.

Special Snowflake mode was turned off haha xD Saying that by the time I get on tonight there'll be tonnes of the things flying around and I'll still be one of the very few with a Gregarious Grell pet. Not that I'm bothered about being "unique" it's impossible in this game (unless you have that lovely black Qiraji I suppose), but I do like the feeling of having something rare for a short period of time. I'll be back to using my Festival Lantern in no time at all. I love that thing.

As for the mount... O.O so pretty! It does look so perfectly worthy for a 150 mount achievement or a DS achievement but I am glad I can obtain it easily enough. As for mounts being status symbols for doing heroic raids etc? Well whenever I see someone on the Handmaiden/Blazing drake, no matter how plain and re-coloured from other models it looks compared to Hear of the Aspects I know that player deserves it and any other mount they may have because they put the time and effort into the game. Same for certain titles. This mount just reflects how gorgeous Blizzard can make them and how awesome it is for all players of different styles to obtain. ALSO gets us excited for future mounts!! :D Gets me excited anyway!

Plus after all, they lost a heap of subscribers and they want to make up the loss of cash. If they put the Spectral Gryphon/Windrider up would it sell as well? Not a chance.

It is a shame that it's not got a role in the lore and just a store bought mount but at least they've brought it out when DS is current and not down the line when MoP comes out. Ok the style is very Asian inspired but the actual Dragon Soul uses the same model so I think it's more relevant now rather than later. either way I'm just glad I can get one... eventually.

I just wish it used it's feet! :p Guess that's what having a wind serpent skeleton does to you. LOVE the swim animation x.x I have waited for a swimming dragon wheee!

Before I try to buy one I'm going to see if I win the Wowhead competition to win one and some cups. I've never won anything, especially on that site (no matter how hard I try T.T) but no harm in trying! :p

-------

Those screen shots are ace! It's nice to see all the colour differences, I'm especially loving the black armour with red, the blue effect and for once a shadow form mount I like!

HOWEVER the Black Blood effect is the best, I kinda wish that was a mount in itself.
