I meant no offense. I apologize if my post somehow offended you. I really don't want to get banned.

I like ALL the MF/Hyjal rares, and on my particular server, Mag/Ank/Ban DO seem quite erratic. Maybe its just the times I log in/see the mobs, but hardly anyone has Ankha or Magria. I get people in my channel jumping for joy when these mobs spawn, as if it is a very rare thing. I am going by my own personal experiences here, not using "he said, she said". I was not "bent out of shape" about it either, and I take offense at that. I was merely sad that no one wants the MF rares anymore and they end up dead more often than not because a lot of hunters don't consider them "rare" anymore. I LIKE ALL MY MF RARES! ALL of them. Check my stables. I have nearly all of them. I think Skitterflame is the only one I don't have, because of lack of interest. I do not wish to get rid of any of my MF rares, despite them now being common. I love Kirix most of all, and he actually has common, non-rare models that you can tame without the trouble, but I am not "bent out of shape" over it at all. I'm glad people can tame Kirix lookalikes if they want to. It doesn't make MY Kirix any less special.

I truly apologize if my post offended you in any way, but YOUR post offended ME as well. I know you are a mod or whatever around here, but I am sorry, I did take offense at you claiming I was upset because my rares aren't rare anymore. I don't tame pets I don't want to tame. There are plenty of pets that are rarer than the MF rares out there (IE King Krush) and I am not even trying for them because I don't LIKE them. I LIKE the MF rares, common or not. Please understand this is what I meant. I have no desire to get banned, I just want you to understand what I meant about being sad that no one wants the MF rares anymore and how I dislike seeing them die.

Pixels or not, I still hate people killing something for 25g. Its just a rude thing to do, and who knows, someone who just dinged 85 and got the quests might come into MF and want that pet. So yes, it does make me sad to see people killing them because they are not "rare" anymore.

And your post came across like you were getting mad cause everyone had the MF rares and suddenly they're not rare anymore just because of that. So thats why I responded the way I did. You didn't mention anything about them getting killed for that reason.

I don't agree with killing them, definitely not. Although, no offense intended, you seem to be getting really upset over the MF rares. Maybe you should avoid that area for a week or something cause you post in here a lot. Just an observation. If I posted that much in here, I might go into a state of depression. Again, no offense intended. I'm just showing concern because I care about everyone on these forums.

I had a friend that camped deth so hardcore she got really sick and I was worried to death for her. I didn't want her to end up in the hospital or something cause she was obsessed with getting the spider. I don't want anyone else to get that way either.

NO. i've used the scare beast method and it has always worked. in fact just did it today before i loged over to my other hunter. i know it works..

A hunter tried it before and it didn't work at all. She tried more than once and there was a crapton of hotfixes in 4.2.2. I've had reports from other hunters on my server saying it didn't work anymore unless his buff was gone.

I want to clear this up. Skitter was just up for at least 30 minutes so I thought I would test this out, also I am tired of seeing him die this week. Your friend must have done it wrong, cause I only hit scare beast and tame. It broke once, but only cause he fled out of range, but it did work. I didn't do anything else. Didn't feel like much of a challenge, but I assume it wasn't meant to be intended this way.

Not trying to derail the thread, just wanted to say that it did work. Although, I feel bad for taming him since I don't exactly want him.

In all seriousness, related to the topic, this is one of those mileage may vary kind of deals. I have never seen Skitterflame or Solix on my server, whether wild or tamed. I've seen Anthriss several times, tamed or rare, Deth and Kirix more frequently than that. There's two or three Skarrs and Karkins on my server (I've never seen them wild.) And one or two Banny's about.

I have never seen Magria or Ankha once however, tamed or otherwise. So, in CC, we have some rares, but we're not as big rare hunters as some servers. Hell, I've never seen griefing going on in the tames I've watched, just a bunch of people helping. I did have one Hordie panic when they saw me, but I reassured them I was harmless, which was a good thing, as they were close friends or spouse to another friend of mine on Alliance, which I didn't know.

All in all, servers vary. You don't see very many Cata rares on Cenarion Circle, or that's what I've noticed. A lot of people used the NR SBs instead.

As for killing rares instead of taming them...First come, first serve in my mind. Always has been. If you are not interfering in a tame, and you have found the rare first, do what you want, whether it is slaughter or tame or rehome.

Ah. Perhaps they did or he got scared out of range. I'll keep that in mind.

Eh, I wouldn't mind more skins, but the biggest problem I have is the inability to name my demons. Yes, I know they're beings you summoned, but I imagine if every demon is named Ghgxbvcx, then it'd be a bit confusing. I don't think it wouldn't be too off-base to nickname your demon. Hell, my lock calls her felguard Maxwell because Izzikrill is stupid. He doesn't mind. And her felhunter isn't even a proper demon, its her corrupted wolf from when she was a hunter. Some demonic name doesn't even make sense.

Some failed, while others almost had their tames but people interrupted it. It was just sorta mean to watch and the justification for killing him was that common mobs exist. The way I see it, to draw out the question to the point of how I personally see it, is the 25g worth killing the rare even without a hunter around? Knowing that some hunter might show up soon to tame it? I just cant see 25g being worth that much to anyone these days. >.< heh

I agree, I try to re-home any rares I come acrost if I dont want it...if no one speaks up I leave it alone for the next hunter to hopefuly have that heart stopping OMG it really is (insert rare's name here) OMG OMG...tame tame tame!! (or as I chant in my head, "love me love me love me!...YES!!!") moment that is so wonderful.

Karkin got killed right under my very nose. I was in group with a nice hunter who wanted to get him and was on her way through the fire. Some stupid warrior shows up and starts to hit him. He was von my faction so I whisper him "get off, someone wants to tame him, has no loot and nothing special" the warri just laughs at me "lol I was faster"
