Loque is at least an achievement pet. It's hard to completely hold it against people for killing him in particular.

No naming and shaming, of course, but I knew this person and she knew I rehomed rares and killed it on purpose just so I couldn't rehome it. She even said some very rude things to me. I didn't even need the pet. I just wanted to give her a chance to get a home rather than die. I myself would have killed her or asked someone to (I dislike killing pets, even for achievements), but I at least wanted her to live for more than 2 minutes. Eh. Poor kitty, but it happens. I'm only PO'd because of the rude things the person said to me and the fact that she was a fellow rarecamper. Not anymore, though. Changing the password and not giving it to her. What she did goes entirely against everything our channel is about.

Not upset that Loque died, just the person who killed her, really. And sad for all the people that wanted her. Its a pity her spawn points are all over the map, so she might be dead next time one of the people wanting her goes for it. I wish them the best luck. I tried, but a former rarecamper deprived them of her. Pooor Loque. I even admitted she was part of an achievement, so I was not the slightest mad about THAT, just that the person who killed her was part of my supposed rehoming channel. Perhaps I should've mentioned that in my dead-kitty post.

Doesn't it just make you feel like crap when you tell someone a rare is up then someone swoops and in and kills/tames before they get there?
That happened at Karkin last night. 4th time in a row he's been up in the wee hours of morning, so he pops and I am alone in MF. I check on alliance ambassador, nope, I am truly alone here.
I have Karkin (even though I think he's ugly as h*ll), and after 30 minutes I found an excited taker. And I mean this dude was all over himself thanking me and flipping out about someone telling him Karkin was up.

Next thing I know, someone showed up and started taming. Technically she didn't "steal" it per-say, but did not bother to ask if I wanted it, was I waiting on someone, ect. She just.. took it and ran off without even a "thanks" when I said "grats!"
I don't know, but it made me really mad. I guess it was the lack of courtesy, but I did see her steal Skarr from her own guild-mate once so...

I know it should have upset me, but it did. I felt so bad for the excited taker who showed up not 2 minutes later.
It just seemed to me like I was obviously there first, and the courteous thing to do would be to ask. I mean geeze, the MF on my server is completely dead anyway, I saw Kirix up today for 3 hours before I found someone who wanted him.

I have seen Karkin now FIVE times (he *just popped again as I write this*) and 0 people in MF on horde or ally, and earlier tonight saw Skarr just chillin on a rock looking lonely, (did not want Skarr, but I took pity and gave him a home with me lol)
so it's not like it's any type of huge challenge to get a MF rare anymore.
And I would have gladly helped her camp him, or camped him FOR her lol.

I know, getting mad was silly, but I still felt like an a$$ for bringing an excited hunter out there for nothing

@Sarantha: In that context, that truly is terrible. :/ It came off as a random person swooping in and killing him, which is an entirely different story.

@Ahnalia: Absolutely agreed, especially when the taming hunter is almost there. At least the timer is known; the last time that happened to me, the person I was attempting to rehome to picked up either the next spawn or the one after.

I decided to tame Karkin as he ALWAYS gets killed on my server. So I sit on Fireplume Peak and wait. I just log in once in a while and play my Alliance toon on an other server between my checks. I usually see Kirix up, but nobody wants him anymore (wrote about him and Skitter in the Taming show and Tell Forum), I try to rehome the other pets as good as I can, but had no luck with the last ones. Skarr was killed right before the hunter wanting him had come through the fire (he was killed by people from both factions and the mage from mine didn't even answer when I asked why he did it). Then Deth got killed several times by Alliance who didn't know how to tame him (brought too many people and the tame broke because he aggroed the "Tank" and ate his face off and killed himself). Never saw Anthriss. And I'm counting the dead Karkins up to 5 now (and this is only the last few days). I always seem to be 5 minutes late to find Karkin alive and now I'm starting to think if he was meant to be for my Tauren or if I should give up. I see too many dead pets, therefore I stopped playing all my max level hunters and just logg in Larkania once in a while to safe Karkin, but if I should ever get him I'll leave the molten front for good and won't return until nobody does quests there anymore.

Was trying to rehome green Madexx (who seems to be stalking Uldum lately) when Deathwing flies in and ganks all the mobs (and me)! Curse you, Deathwing! Killing an innocent little scorpid!

I tell you, Nesingwary and Deathwing are totally in on a conspiracy to kill hunter rares. Nesingwary is SO Deathwing's top man. He's totally the Twilight Prophet. Calling it now.

I was so disgusted with my server after the last Deth incident that I rolled a new character on a new server.
I figure once she is even high enough level to tame them, the hype will be completely over and she should have a pretty easy time. Well.. that's what I hope anyway.
I already decided I want Skarr. I never liked him, I thought he was uuuggglleeee as sin, but the one I tamed last night is growing on me fast for some reason.
Here's hoping for an easy tame when the time comes.

well...sara has a guild (It's not hers but she is in it and so am i) it has quite a few people not sure about after 12am...(i'm normally in bed but even when i do go to bed there are quite a few people on) and it is a non-pvp sever

Was camping Skarr/Kark when Skitterflame popped; I didn't want to leave my spot, cause I had no idea on times for them, so they could pop at any time. But after half an hour or so, Skitty was still up, so I derp-jumped my way over to give the challenge a go. But a Pally shows up and squishes her. It was close, mind. I was so willing her to kill him, but he Lay on Hands'd. Didn't even loot her.

Even though I didn't want Skits particularly, the fact he killed her left me feeling horrible.

Did manage to grab Kirix mind; it was a very clumsy, messy tame, but I got it done.

I stopped a Skitterflame death
Another hunter went up to him and started shooting him and looked like he was trying to kill it. I asked in /say "why are you killing it??" he didnt' answer and just kept shooting. He nearly died and feigned and Skitter went off back to his lava.
The guy sent me a tell "woulda been nice if you had HELPED!" I reply "why were you killing it?"
He replied "I want to tame it" so I replied back "that is not how you tame it.. you need to catch him in an ice trap > scare beast > tame"
The guy goes up and shoots him again, I wasn't sure what to do so I tossed a trap at him and caught him just perfect (usually my aim sucks on trap launcher) the other hunter scared him and tamed him without a hitch, then replied to me "thnx". I felt happy to save skitter from an untimely demise.

Anny on the other hand, not so lucky.. I was gonna retame him, and right as I was about to pull him to me at the lava, another hunter (alliance) starts killing him and then someone else jumped on him and next thing knew, he was dead

Didn't witness it myself, but someone in the channel was lamenting over Skitterflame's death again. This happens quite often. People mess up the tame and he dies. I felt bad that I hadn't been there to root Skitter for them, but well, kinda their fault for not asking or even saying they were going for Skitter.

Uh, yes, that does blow. I have put in a few tickets asking about that issue where people can tame tagged mobs. Some GMs agree that it is wrong and will suggest it to their "higher ups", but others say its part of the challenge. I don't see how the possibility of losing a tame you tagged to someone else who did none of the work is considered fair, but hey, challenge tame. I had my Deth stolen 6 times before I got him. I felt more along the lines of punching the screen rather than crying (I saved that for blue Madexx camping), but it sure stings each time I see shit like that happen.

I did my usual circle around Uldum today for figurines and a check on Madexx, even though I was on my Druid.

Fix this, blizzard. Let these pets be exactly the same as the ones in the Molten Front; they actually pack a punch. This is the 2nd time I've stumbled across a dead Madexx (the first being the blue one...) and it's usually some turd whose happy with the 25g vendor tear.

Sigh.

Really wish blizzard would fix the hunter pets to where they can not be tagged, touch, mutilated or otherwise bothered by anyone who is not a hunter -.- Or at least can't be touched during a tame since I do know hunters who brag about making sure rares "stay rare" by killing pets
