Oh god, yes, THIS, a hundred times this. Some things really need to be seen in person to be fully comprehended. And sometimes explanations will leave out the explanation that the fire on such and such a fight is BLUE, not RED. And other times, on a fight like Hodir, players might not be able to see the marks on the ground because their particle density wasn't set high enough (or whichever setting it was; I forget now).
Something that I've noticed as a poor quality in raid leaders (since raids generally have the most complex fights) is that they'll explain every little detail and overload the raid on information, so the basic, most important concepts are lost. I simplify blood queen down to "there's
two things you need to be aware of: purple/shadows means run out, red/pact means run in." Are the other details important? Sure, but the precise whys of everything are less important to first timers than knowing that if they do the wrong thing, they can wipe the raid.
