I've been farming the Waterways for ten minutes and I've already gotten four familiars. O.o Each of them sell for a flat 4k at least, too. Also it's easier to farm than Bamboo Falls for some reason.

I wouldn't say that they think nothing's wrong so much as they're still not sure what there is to be done about it. They did mention that they're considering a few fixes and changes to the exalt system to try and even stuff out- but yeah, I'd like to see a liiiiittle more activity on that.

At least the economy is actually on their minds at all? x.x But yeah, I'd prefer it if they'd said a lot more about fixing and a lot less about "well we'll see".

Yeaahhh, that is a feeling I'm getting. But uh- uh- they said they're considering fixes! Yeah! Optimism! ...Oh to heck with it, maybe they'll do something but for now I'll go back to coli grinding for the rest of time. xD

I got the feeling that they think nothing is wrong because they said that they don't intend for selling dragons to be a lucrative profit and that breeding is really only meant to earn yourself "pretty" dragons that you like. Sure they mentioned hatcheries and stuff but it feels like they don't really care that prices are at rock bottom and the attitudes of their white knighters clearly reflects that. I'm about 99% done with this game and it's bullshit.

So much is wrong with these updates. Not all, but some of what's posted there (alright, specifically how they acknowledged the economy problem) and the lack of what's been posted there (explanation on what clanbound scatterscrolls are-- only after people asked several times did we find out what they were and the main post still wasn't updated so people have to dig through the thread if they want to find out. Games. Adventure. Lair spaces and their cost per row and if they'd possibly consider either lowering prices or raising number of slots given).

Honestly I'm finding out more reading their answers to questions in the comments than I am in the front page which is supposed to be the news page that's supposed to now house all their responses and acknowledgements to the various minor and major problems or frequent questions people have.

They should implement a similar option to the Blizzard forums where you can jump from Blue post to Blue post and easily tell when an admin has posted in a thread.

I'm all for that on FR, like a trillion and three quarters for that. There's so much that's wrong with how the admins post their news since going live (no idea if it was this bad in beta) that I learn about most of the sites going-on's here, magistream, or long after its been in effect

I am happy that they took the time to make this "Word on the Wind" and give a brief update on some of the things going on behind the scenes and address the economical state among other things. I do understand their "wait and see" approach, economy is a fickle fluctuating thing, in games and in Real life. "we looking at additional options for beneficial alterations or enhancements to both exaltation and Flight Dominance" gives me hope that they are considering adjustments in the right direction. That they are focusing on getting registrations up and running as a priority over price issues atm is to be expected, heck, new blood can perk a stagnant economy up and get it moving again, so I understand their "wait and see" approach for now.

I guess I am just a laid back person who takes games for what they are and finds a way to have fun regardless of any bugs or issues. Probably why I never really get in a tizzy on the WoW forums as well...To much strife in real life to drag it into games.

grump.. well atleast they said something... i dont like the " lets wait and see" and "nothing really wrong with the economy"...hmmpp i disagree.. someone give me a milion dollors so i can by the site and make things right...

I do think they're making an effort though, even if it's small to start. They seem to have heard us about being more interactive, and now we have this new update column. It's something at least, and I appreciate that they're doing it.

I just hope they take the important matters to heart, especially regarding the economy.

Agreed with Makoes- I dunno, I'm not really going to stress about prices. It doesn't really bother me much. I just enjoy looking at pretty dragons, heh.

But regardless- I was looking at the names of Varris's offspring and saw "Noodles" and "Cinder". Knowing that one of his babies was an obsidian/crimson beauty and the other was an obsidian/stone mess, I assumed that the glorious cinder-like one would be cinder.

Nope. Noodles the badass and Cinder the ugly. Of course. xD

And about the updates.. I really am clueless as to why people are so upset about it. They told us what was going on in the only words they could without going super deep into things we might not understand. There are a LOT of people on the site that are as dumb as doornails. So instead of having only a few understand what on earth they are talking about, the team took the route of making it simple and understandable to everyone. Yes, this does mean you do not get the full story. But oh well. One must keep in mind that this site is still on wobbly newborn calf legs at the moment and there is a lot that needs to stay behind the scenes.

Think of it as... Elder Scrolls beta! There is so much amazing content and strange bugs that are in the world, but it is so early in beta you are not allowed to talk about ANYTHING. While on FR you are allowed to talk about things... There is a good chance the staff is not yet 'able' to talk about everything.
Then there is the point of cheating. If the staff were to come out explaining every little thing that is wrong, there are always people out there that would use that info to their advantage to get into the FR system. Why? Because they are jerks. Isn't that always the reason? ;P

To get upset about their reply to the economy sounds silly in my opinion. Again, the site is still new. It appears they are still trying to figure out which direction they want to go with it! While it is a breeding site, I'm sure their team has debates behind the scenes if they want to try changing how breeding works to help deal with the mass amounts of dragons. This will of course most likely piss most of you off if they do take this route, but it would offer a 'fix'. But.. the point has already been made about this site being a BREEDING site.. So the chances of a huge breeding fix to deal with the mass of dragons seems a bit unlikely.

TL;DR. If you don't like it, take a hiatus, take a break or quit. Complaining on these forums or anywhere but the suggestion forums on FR wont help any. I understand the frustration, but you can not expect so much from a site that is so early in their years! A website like this is VERY hard to run and keep going. It takes a lot of time and the staff have to work around the clock just to keep people moderately happy. Hell, Neopets started in the very same manner if I recall correctly. It started small with a lot of issues and soon grew to a massive thing... Then it sold to Viacom and went to hell.. But we wont go into that.
But yeah. You can always take a break while you wait for the site to get firmer legs if it causes so much stress.
