Slightly related, brother's friend is over. We're all hanging out in the living room. My dad comes in and says he wants me to go on "snake patrol" - where I walk in lines along the the yard and find snakes to relocate before my dad mows. I briefly tell friend what this is.
"Why are you saving them? They're reptiles."
He literally doesn't think reptiles deserve to be saved from being flayed alive. He thinks all reptiles should die because they don't "contribute to society". Oh my god. I almost punched him. I was so angry I cursed him out- which is something I've never done. He apologized later, but god damn. You do not come into my house and say that animal abuse is okay.
