Another update, another maintenance right after log in.. fell through my ceiling and was stuck in mid air...

Yesterday I was under my house and had to destroy a foundation to get out. Day before I got tossed behind my spiral staircase in a lag jerk and had to demo that to get out... ugh. The game seems worse after the last major update.

Nef, you had an Alpha Raptor near your herbivores when I logged on. Thankfully the offline protection thing covers dinos, too. Not sure how tribe works and if me being on stops it, but I took care of him with your mass of carnivores help. It was level 10 so it died in a second. I think it got in from the northern cliff, but not sure.

I've killed three alphas in Nef's base alone. I thought for sure once a building was placed dinos wouldn't spawn there. *sigh*
Sadly I'm getting closer and closer to leaving 14. Like Seila I'm super sick of spawning into my floor or ceiling & having to destroy the tile just to get out then replace it. Sick of trolls. Sick of newbs. Sick of obscene lag. Sick of severe frame rate drops. So bad to the point the dino I'm riding loses all texture. Buildings randomly losing texture.
I am strongly thinking about getting another server for pve primitive plus. No obnoxious load times. No trolls. It's tempting.

Tarn - On your server do alphas spawn randomly or do you cause them to spawn? I've not seen a single alpha on mine. I don't remember seeing any settings that spawns them. On the Steam community it says they're supposed to spawn on their own.

I don't think they're spawning inside, I think it fell off the cliff above. It could have been chasing something and they both jumped the cliff in, but I'm not sure. There is nothing along the ridges to stop that, and i watched a normal raptor jump off into the awaiting jaws of her predators in the past.

I've been having the same texture issues as well. I thought it might have been me, but guess not. I'm not noticing a frame rate drop, just everything goes flat and blocky for a bit, almost like a water colored painting. It takes a bit to recover sometimes.

I know it's still beta and all, but I wish they'd take a little more time before releasing updates. Obviously they are riddled with bugs and issues, so instead of annoying your player base with unpolished updates, causing dino loss or other terrible things that they refuse to refund due to their mistakes, hold off.

Not to mention if you log in after they announce a maintenance, you have no idea it is coming unless someone says something. They give one warning 30-45 before, then one last "server going down now". I got caught outside in predator alley last night... on my Spino. I ran like he'll to try and get back to a safe area. I managed to get just inside Nef's gate before it went down. Logged back in and was rolled back to the waterways outside, thankfully safe.

Alpha spawns on their on. I got tameable alpha and annuarrki genesis mod. Both adds more alphas in game

If they spawn on their own then I am really surprised I've not seen one. Odd. I guess maybe I've missed them. I am not sad they're not there by any stretch of the means. The Center's predators are brutal enough as it is.

I think without mods they are supposed to be rare? I only remember seen one alpha without any of my mods. With the two mods im running they are really spawning A LOT. You can add even more alpha spawns with combining the two mods i mention with Primal Fear.. and then you get apex dinos too.. and fabled and much more. I dont run Primal fear anymore because it adds demonic dinos and I just think that is tremendously stupid.


But try tameable alphas first Its friendly and got a list of alphas which spawns. Annuarki is harder as the dragon and drakes are REALLY HARD! But worth it imo as it adds to better beacon drops.

I finds lots of both alpha and badass in the wild. No problem.. sometimes you really need to run away from a primal alpha as they cant be tamed and are super strong

the omega´s are a bit more rare which to me is good because ohh boy they are strong !

My Rex got killed but I managed to get a pack of Wolves; from left to right : Leasha (Female), Furrtastic (Female) and Pawesome (Male) all dyed in. They dont got a pack bonus so I might need to go out and find another male

I kinda want to try to build an avery for the flying dinos... could be fun

Poor Argy was like level 10 or something. Lol But I'm ecstatic to have them.

Tarn - I'll definitely save the links. I wouldn't like demonic dragons or dinos TBH. Least not in this game. In Skyrim there is a undead dragon but the story & his specific lore make sense. In Ark it doesn't. For me, I believe dragons, or very close to it, were real. Like on this Earth. Anyway. In Ark a regular wyvern makes sense.

I like your view! Which genders of wolves do you have for the pack bonus? Just stear clear of primal fear and you be alright . I love annuarki mod and tameable alpha +. Adds so much challenge for me.

Pack bonus goes by the highest level I think. As far a ratio I think it's mostly males. Maybe 4M 2F. I think the wolf with it's bum against my hut is a female & the wolf facing my hut. I know the two pack leaders are male. Usually when taming so far sex is the last thing I look at. I just care about living & the tame going through.

You had another Alpha when I logged in Nef. This one was directly under the cliff by the West gates. Then another one glitches in later. He had to of as he was outside to southern forest gate, the next thing was inside like nothing.

I ran into 4 Alpha Raptors and an Alpha Rex tonight... it's absolutely ridiculous. In the past few days I've seen 10+ Alphas. I go days without seeing one, maybe even a week or more, then bam. Explosion.

Anywho, Braz said your wolf is ready and DEX is interested in trading for some of our Dimes.

I'll be logging into 14 later. it kind upsets me dinos are potentially being traded away without a full discussion of the tribe.

I told him that I'd pass along that he was interested in trading. He saw my name on some of them and asked me, but they're in (your) Zed's enclosure because we just never got to reclaiming them. No trading will go on without knowledge of everyone, specially when they aren't mine to trade.

Been sick so we havent played since we got the wolves... but maybe we play tomorrow. We wanna tame our tanks (Bronto) so we got those..and maybe consider to build our aviary.

Seila - I moved everything you'd claimed to around the trough by the fence where my base hits Nef's. I guess ......... how do we do this? I mean. We could disband then unclaim when we cross paths or? Also. There are sea creatures. I'm probably staying in the cove for now. Unless I find a spot that speaks to me.

Tarn - Sorry you've been sick

So yeah along with alphas spawning in Nef's base I read last night Gigas have a chance to spawn in there. It's a rare chance but a chance none the less. Knowing our luck one'll spawn and decimate everything. This is the only reason I'm thinking of moving homes.

Unfortunately the area I was looking at building has been taken by Ooby. It was a nice little rock cliff area with a decent sized ledge over a beautiful lake. It was north of green obi. I really don't want to pick up and move again.. I'm still not even finished where I am. All this building and rebuilding is putting me behind and almost feeling more like a task than a fun game.

I'll try to be on earlier. I just haven't felt much like playing because of the above reason. I'll try to catch one of you on atleast. You two seem to be on at the same time more than I am? Or so it seems. If I can just unclaim to one of you then you two and finish up. I think the only thing I have is one Oviraptor that's claimed to you, Zed. It was still back at the old base, so I brought it over because my flyers weren't getting the buff where they are sitting currently.

I want to tame things, but the things I want I can't unless I have kibble to make it reasonable. To do that I need to finish building and grow stuff. *sigh* I want a Thyla so bad, but even a low level 10 will take over 2 hours with Prime Meat. Kibble is lightning fast (20 minutes vs 2 hours), but requires Titanaboa eggs..... the things we can't tame. I had an idea, and it seems it's exactly what Valorian is doing, to build a trap and pull a few females and a male in it. Leave them and farm the eggs as they lay them. Tricky part would be safely getting the eggs. Valorian has a multi-gate system to pull them into one area, close gate, pick up eggs safely, which seems like the best idea.
