The albino drake is a very special drake to me. He reminds me of a fish I had when I lived with my parents. Just a bit of backstory. My mother is a fucking loon, nutso. We don't talk anymore because of it. I had a fish when I was 17, this little albino corydora, I didn't know how to take care of him in the end. He died. I felt so guilty. Then, for no reason at all, my mother picked his body of out his tank and fed him to her red bellied pacu..I looked on in horror as my little fish's body was gulped in one bite by my mother's monster fish...! I didn't know my Biño for very long back then, but it the vision always haunted me.

At first I wanted the albino drake just to have him..
Then when I mounted him, it was as if I were being forgiven by that tiny little fish.

I know, it's silly of me to feel guilty about a fish, but I cannot stand any living creature to die unfairly.

That was such a disgraceful thing for your mother to do, Nili. It doesn't matter what kind of animal it is. If one of my cats died and I saw her corpse being fed to some other animal, I would've been scarred for life by the image. Fish or not, that's a horrid thing to do. Also don't worry about not being able to take care of it, I was the same. My fish pets never grew on me too much but I never managed to look after them properly, plus certain types of fish and other animals need really crazy accurate conditions.

Another bigger fish that had torn apart our goldfish at the time.
My parents are awful pet owners. The worst.

We had a ferret who hopped in a pile of laundry, my mother just chucked him in the washer and dryer.
I have had three pet bunnies. First one from aged 9.Rex. He was my cousins, he gave him to me. I didn't know wtf I was doing with it.. my mother forced cleaning his cage and feeding him on me. Safe to say, I didn't take care of him. I came home from school one day, instead of getting his cage cleaned, she let him loose in the woods behind our house..¬.¬
Another, Bandit, lived with me for 6 months. I was 12, and knew how to take care of him better. We were moving house and instead of giving a domesticated bunny to a neighbor, my parents thought it would be a good idea to set him in the wild in a nature park..¬.¬
Third bunny, Sparky. I got sick, like really sick and was unable to take care of him between school and recovering. He died of dehydration and a solid carrot diet because my mother couldn't be bothered and stuffed carrots in his dish and left him alone.

My mother has always loved birds. We've had 5 while I lived with them.
Our first, Lady Ace, a cockatiel, egg bound. No one's fault in particular.
Then, I became attached to the next cockatiel, Sinsae (or however you spell it). I taught her to come to me in the front of the cage. She lived with us for 5 years. I guess my mother got tired of her or something, she died of the cold exposure in a draft room...when I was there with my husband getting our fiance visa..I was absolutely upset. She died in my hands.
During Sinsae's lifetime, we lost three love birds. First love bird, died of a broken neck after something frightened him and he flew into the side of his cage... the other two. She never bothered clipping their wings. We were moving house. One of them flew out. My mother thought it was a good idea keeping the birds outside... the other flew out of her cage months later..:/

The last one, my little puppy Samurai. I raised him when no one else cared. My mother wanted a puppy and spunked a shedload on him, only to find she didn't have patience with a puppy his size. He was the most gorgeous Akita in the world.. but, I met my husband when he was 6 months. I had to leave him to follow my heart. My parents never trained him, just had him as an ornament who would be put outside when he misbehaved. He attacked my mother and had to be put down.

Sorry, dunno why I'm going on and on about this.. I love animals so very much and it breaks my heart just thinking about these incidents. :S

Sorry to say this but your mother shouldn't be allowed animals. There are laws against animal cruelty and mistreatment and this is a perfect example of that, and if people found out about it she would never be allowed another animal again. What bothered me most was how she just left your rabbit to die when you were sick. I'm sorry, but after an incident like that, there would be no way I could live with my parents. I would've moved to my grandparents house or something. How disgraceful.

I'm really kinda jealous of you, in a weird way, you know. You get to live with your husband and you two sound so happy together. I only get to see my boyfriend, who I've been with for nearly two years now, once every few months. We met via WoW a few years ago and he lives about 3-4 hours north of me. I love my mum and my younger sister (As much as I claim I don't, haha) but a life living with him would be so perfect to me. We've even started to plan out small things already, like what kinda pets we'll get. He's a dog person and I'm a cat person, so we've agreed for a choice of one cat and dog each, hehe. Of course we'll both own them all but... I love talking about this stuff.

Oh I agree, but there's not much I can do now. They've not had a death since Samurai, we had a gigantic argument about that. They now take their new puppies to training classes, and take our (one of them is mine) cats to the vets every six months.. since my lifelong friend died of Cancer two years ago, died outside alone in the cold...we've had huge huge fights about the animals. But I've not spoken to them for a year now, officially.

My husband and I have been through everything, the crazy insane filing for a permanent living visa, the marriage visas, the fights, everything that would have torn a normal couple apart.. but we are still strong, May will be our 4th year.. and I'm still head over heels in love with him. My John's not a dog person at all, so puppies are off limits for me. I'm fine with that, I got to raise a 4 week old kitten from certain death. I love my life, and wish everyone could be as happy as we are. I hope you get to move in with your boyfriend soon

I'd love to get my own house. In fact... I'm so, so excited to one day. University fees over here are ridiculous though, so I have to stay at home while I'm there. Which means I won't be getting my own place for at least 3-4 years still. It all depends really, as well as what kinda job I end up getting, if any at all. I've never imagined myself as a housewife but hey, it all depends.

But I know NOTHING financial-wise... nothing! xD I'm so damn useless as this stuff. But! Boyfriend is studying accounting, so he can do all the hard and complicated stuff I never understood!

I dread the day I get a phonecall or an obscure facebook message telling me the last two animals I grew up with have passed. That's how they communicate, on facebook..whenever a loved one dies.. what a great way to find out.

Oh and trust me, I never imagined myself as being a housewife either. But in the current economy, no one wants to hire a non british citizen.. so I'm put aside when I submit applications. :S

I totally feel for you with the animals! I am the softest person ever when it comes down to furry little things - hence why I rolled hunter lol! Tomorrow my little sausage dog who is 10 years old is having an operation to remove a lump I found on his chest last week. I feel sick with worry - will he be ok since hes old, is it something nasty like cancer etc etc - I know for certain I won't sleep tonight and tomorrow will be filled with tears! This is why I havent been on WoW much, I have an ingame pet that resembles my little man and its painful to play with him bouncing after me And I can't bare to put him in the stables. I'm blaming myself for not spotting it earlier (its the size of a 5p atm) and whether I should put him through the op or be selfish hoping it will go away. He's my first dog after I begged my parents for years for one, he's seen me through school and college - I just can't imagine my life without him
