'LOL'. xD But grats so much on the lucky sea turtle! You're the second person I know of to get one from those pools now, I'll have to try this at level 85! I'm too scared to go around the outside of Darkmoon Island at my current level, since I'm on a PvP server and when you're wandering around the island your PvP status is on... so I don't wanna get ganked. D:

So Friday was my 24th birthday.
My friend Darkness from our guild, one of my officers ..he asked me how much the Traveler's Tundra mammoth..
He gave me 14k to buy myself one :O

I've not been up to too much ingame lately, when I am online, I've been raiding. This is partially due to my husband being home for two weeks during the Christmas holidays. We spend most of our time on the couch, cuddling while he plays Fable II. But I've been buying my eggs and such, and even treated myself to the red drake for Xmas on Xmas eve.

The Adventurer's Journal and the Insignia aren't working, but I managed to squeeze out 189 tickets





And I completely forgot I had an egg in my inventory, it hatched at like 3 am this morning

I feel like this is the only place I can vent at the moment.
My father-in-law was diagnosed with Stage three bladder cancer this past Friday.
I feel like I've prepared for this all my life, to be a rock for my husband, to do nothing but sacrifice myself for his happiness. I didn't want it to happen, but I was just used to so many disappointments in my life growing up and I never had anyone there for me. I wanted to be there for someone else.

So we're playing WoW now for a way to get our minds off of what's in our future, our financial support is going away, I'll have to find a job in this recession, John's going to have a really hard time these next few months and maybe even years, so I welcome the game and it's distractions as well.

So we're killing deathwing tonight, we got him down with .5 seconds left on enrage.
Shit was crazy. The mount dropped. I wasn't sure if it dropped everytime or if it had a 2% drop chance, I still don't but I am FUMING.
I didn't get the mount, even though it was suggested I get it. The guy who won it is one of our good friends ingame. He doesn't collect mounts, so it will get used very often. But I don't get how they can say ''it's the first mount drop, the GM should get it'' with Ragnaros, and not with this mount. It's still the first mount. Bah, now I'm being petty. I can't help it, the major part of why I play this game is to collect mounts. I also got everything going down the shitter at the moment, so I could have done with the pick me up.

I know it's silly and petty of me, but I'm fucking pissed right now. I'm sure it will pass. Will it be too much if I just straight up tell him I'm a bit peeved at him? Will it be too much to ask him not to mention it around me or right it when I'm near him?

I brought my Dino to help everyone else's dps while mine dropped really low. And it just feels like this is the thanks I get.

I'm sorry you lost the roll. Had I been there, you would have gotten my vote.
I know you are having a hard time. I'd like you to try and look on the bright side though, no matter how tough it seems. I should sometimes follow my own advice, perhaps I wouldn't be so pissed all the time. It surely drains one.

Btw, who did win?

Edit: I just researched a bit.. It doesn't drop every time, but it has a rather high drop rate compared to every other mount. 7%. And if we ever get to the stage that we can run 25m normals with the guild, it has a fucking 19% droprate. That's 1/5.

Marci won it, and yeah it went to a good home as he only has the barbie horse. His new mount will get taken everywhere, that dragon won't know what hit her with how often Marci will ride her.

I spoke to him before I went to bed last night
Me: So like, I'm glad you won it.
Him: Yeah thanks, I know the drop chance is like really low.
Me: Can ya do me a favour and not ride it near me for a few days?
Him: sure, I understand.

So cool.

I slept on it, crying like I did cause I've had all this emotional pent up ..I dunno what to call it..stress I guess. I did the right thing in the end, not pulling rank and demanding it. Had I done that, we probably wouldn't have a guild this morning. I did the right thing in just shutting my trap when it dropped. I let it flow the way it was meant to. When I heard the mount was in that cache, I took off my headphones and stared at the conversation that was going on. I couldn't listen to them in vent, I couldn't trust myself to stay quiet.

And if it drops again, it will go the same way and I won't win it. My own luck has gone away and gone to someone else it seems. But you know, at the end of the day that's okay. I had my time to shine.

As of right now I'm 7 mounts away from 100. I got my Talbuks last night. With 30 warbeads to go, an alliance mage came and tried to kill things before I could and didn't even bother to loot them when he did get lucky. Meh, like it was something else I needed, but I dealt with it.

Like I'll deal with life, just deal straight up. I'll grab life by the horns and hang on for dear life. All for my husband, and the love we have (which is pretty fucking epic! seriously could write a book about it ).

Now Imma go feed the cats and go back to sleep, been up since 7 am. Bah. 5 hours sleep. Awesome.

I guess life sucks sometimes. I am still waiting for my shiney time, as I have yet to get there. Perhaps if I farm day and night for months at a time for the drake whelps, I will finally get something in return for it.

You're stressed, there's nothing unusual or wrong in what you're doing. I'm going to be honest here and say that the first thought that came to mind about that mount was that you were being selfish. But then I read on and I thought, no, you're not being selfish, if the guild told you the mount should be yours first time then it should be yours, especially if they know you're a mount collector. Being a mount collector myself, I would've been peeved as well if that'd happened to me. Very peeved. I wouldn't have said anything, but it would bug me to no end for a while.

You need to let yourself calm down, I wouldn't straight up say to the guy that you're mad he won it because it might make him feel bad too. Remember that he'll ride the fuck out of this mount and it'll get so much love and attention and it'll be amazing. You can look at his drake and think, "Damn, that's such a cool mount, I can't wait until I get it." Not that you 'hope you get it', but that you 'can't wait until you get it'. Keep trying and trying and don't give up and you'll get what you want. Take it from another mount collector - it can be irritating and stressful but in the end something good ALWAYS happens!

Since I'm in the middle of an on-and-off camp for TLPD, I'm stressing about it every single time I find myself in the Storm Peaks. If there's too many people around I panic, wondering if I'll even see it if it spawns, wondering if I'll be able to catch it before someone else, etc. And when there's no one around, I wonder if it's spawned recently and everyone's gone away and I'm pointlessly sitting there. I want this mount so much right now that I'm even drawing pictures of him. But when I camp, I stress. I *hate* the sound of NPC Scan, it makes my heart rush and I just... don't like it. If I'm wandering around Storm Peaks I'll have the volume turned down. I want this drake but I don't know how I'm going to get it, and therefore I'm stressed about it. But not as stressed as you.

I'm sure your husband can help you with this, you're always talking about how great your relationship with him is so go talk to him and figure things out together.

Everything works out in the end, no matter how bad things may seem. Don't worry. And people here on Petopia are always here for you if you ever need a chat or a simple rant. ♥
