Stable ideas for a maybe baby hunter?

I think so too, Airwyn! I still have no idea what I’m doing with his character – I’ve just been playing around with him in the death knight starter area some, trying to get a feel for this possible new version of him and the class itself. But so far I am loving the idea – love the sound of the death knight voices and laughs, too!

The Bastien I am playing with is the one simply named Bastien on another server. I’m not sure whether that will be the one I keep or not. I do like the idea of him having himself adopted or having been given a different name – I also like the corrupted spelling of a corrupt man idea – but I’m still wishy-washy. In the end, when he regains his memories, I’m not sure he will want to go by a name given to him during his darkest days anymore, but at the same time maybe he feels that his old self is dead. So many options!!!

So after looking at Bastienne's stable and having so much fun with it, I have come to the conclusion that I am having far too much fun coming up with stable ideas - even for characters I don't even have!

I've been thinking how much fun it would be to have an undead character with all undead/diseased/bloody red-colored pets, perhaps a troll with islandy pets, and my latest thought has been (another) blood elf with pets colored the red/gold colors of the sin'dorei... another child of Constantyne and Whitnee's? Perhaps a son that would actually shower Whitnee with some attention? Maybe there is a child who has a stable of wolves in honor of his/her mom... at this rate they are going to go from one kid to three... AHH! It's just so much fun!!!!

oh yeah, I love making the stable ideas. I just hate having to level yet another another toon to make the stable a reality, but yeah it is fun. That troll with tropical pets sounds really cool to me though! I dont think I have ever heard of that, kinda interested to see what could come of that. A goblin would do a tropical theme well too.

I think a proud Sin'doreian (spelling?) theme would work fairly well. I can only guess that the orange dragonhawk would probably be the iconic pet for the theme?

I have finally got Salaina and Rendir to 40, Aylee is still 25. I have run into a slump with her. I have an awesome stable mapped out for her, but between 25 and 40, only 3 pets will be tamed. Part of what I like doing is setting benchmarks of sorts, I hit this level, then go a'taming. Its going to be hard to grind yet another 15 levels with only 3 pets to be found, one of which may be hard to find and the other two are common and bland (fits her theme but not exciting for me lol).

The bug hunter really interests me to. I have a night elf hunter I have kinda left by the way side, one of those Stormbough sisters I mentioned. Originally I was going to do a Red/Green/Blue theme with her, probably Red and Blue, but that kinda lost steam. Who knows, I may do the bug thing on her. I just HATE beyond a passion that I have to wait until 69 to tame exotics. I dont understand why they dont make taming exotics part of the level 10 beastmaster specialization, and leave the exotic abilities and 4 extra talent points at the bottom of the tree. If they did that, devilsaurs are not much different than wolves etc. That would make things so much better

I do, too - I hate to be so overrun with characters, but at the same time I tend to have character-ADD so sometimes it works for me I thought a tropical theme would be really neat - pets like crabs, crocolisks, turtles and monkeys.

And yes - the orange dragonhawk would definitely be the iconic pet. I think it would be kind of cool, too, since Bastienne's ultimate iconic pet will likely be the pink and purple dragonhawk. Maybe the other character could be a son? Oh, here I go again...

Congrats on getting Salaina and Rendir up to 40! I've hit a bit of a slump with Bastienne for the exact same reason - I wish I could jump her up to level 46 so she could go tame that pink scorpid already.

Thank you, Airwyn! I probably won't be working on him for quite some time, but I found a name I quite liked for a son: Costin I went ahead and created him so that it wouldn't be taken by someone else. Bastienne's baby brother!

Yup That's about the only thing I do know about him right now. And I think that at some point they will have either a human or worgen son/daughter, to break up the blood elf theme, and they will have the wolf theme. I don't know why, I can just see them having three kids - even though Bastienne is an only child for a while, and the perennial daddy's girl

I dont know if youre still monitoring this thread, but I was curious how your characters are doing? Leveled them any more or got any other pets? I guess I could check the armory haha. And I think you need to add Costin to your sig Anything new with them?

I have been focused on my main recently, doing a lot of dailies etc, letting all my lowbies get some rested. Now since its Midsummer, and the extra XP buff, I have started playing them again. I went ahead and leveled Aylee from 25 to 34 as quick as I could through LFG so I could get the rare green beetle from Southern Barrens. Still in that no pet slump though >:( need to get to 41... once there, I have several pets to get in every level bracket (40-50, 50-60, and 60-70).

I have also been working on some back story, but nothing in written form yet. More like bullet points at the moment. I know Rendir's father was a Silvermoon Ranger, not of rank, but a veteran ranger. Rendir's brother also became a ranger. Not sure about the mother, but I want her to be something that would cause the family to spend time in snowy environments, mainly Winterspring. Not sure how I am going to work that in, but Rendir growing up and spending time in wintery places is part of the reason for his white pets. Also why he enjoys cold weather and hates jungles, hot and humid.

Salaina's father was an engineer and worked closely with gnomes, often taking long trips to Ironforge. Salaina's mother was a priest in Stormwind, and her mother had a best friend was a Night Elf, a priestess of Elune. She was also a priest trainer and every year she would take her priest trainees on a long trip from Stormwind to Darnassus for some time with the priestesses of the moon (it was during one of these trips Salaina's mother was killed, and a consequent revenge trip from Salaina's grieving and angry father that got him killed). This is also how Salaina ended up in Darnassas an orphan under the communal care of the night elves... and that leads into her studying to become a marksman.

I mentioned how I want each person to personify a tree of hunters (Render the Beastmaster, Salaina the Marksman and Aylee the Surviver)... I think I am only going to portray them as using abilities (in the story) that are found in that tree. Such as only Aylee knows how to properly feign death and make traps, only Salaina knows how to make a proper aimed shot, and how to quickly and repeated fire precision shots... and of course Rendir being one with the beasts, knows how to tame even the most savage of animals and control it.

Oh, I definitely still monitor this thread – I absolutely love chatting back and forth about our characters’ with you! I actually haven’t been able to play for the past week or so now Our credit card number somehow got stolen, and our subscription ran out the day after. I’m in a holding pattern until the bank gets everything sorted out, sadly. It’s maddening! WoW is my stress relief at the end of a hard day, and I definitely miss it. Just when I was having so much fun with Constantyne and family, too I do need to add Costin to my sig! When I am able to play again, I want to level him up to ten just so he will show in the armory

Congrats on getting Aylee to 34 so quickly! I hate that dreaded pet slump. I think that is the biggest downside of stable themes, is that there seems to be so many gaps between the pets you want so badly that it makes the rest of the game just drags. I LOVE that green beetle though, I love that shade of green with the purple markings. I bet he/she and Aylee look great together What have you been naming her pets so far?

I love that growing up in a wintery environment is what sparked Rendir’s love of white pets – that is so fitting, and gives so much more meaning to what could have just been a random theme I’m trying to think outside of the box for her. Maybe she had something to do with animal preservation and worked closely with the creatures, like the frostsaber cats, in Winterspring? On the flipside, maybe she was a demon hunter trying to exterminate the demons who have taken up the southern parts of the region.

I still really love Salaina’s story, and the fact that she is raised by the night elves. It seems so fitting, especially with her being the marksman hunter. How old was she when her parents were killed?

And, at the risk of overusing the word ‘love,’ I really love the fact that your family represents the three branches of hunters, and the fact that you are working those unique abilities in. In game, Constantyne is dual-specced between beast mastery and marksmanship. When writing him, I feel I have never really put either of the trees into play as much as I might should. I do know that he is downright awful with traps, and trying to sneak around, and feigning death – he just likes barging into the action with Whitney at his side. It’s not the safest method for sure, but it’s the way he prefers things

During my forcible hiatus, I have been trying to think some on Whitnee’s backstory since she is still my only character who doesn’t really have one. Born a human, she grew up on a farm in Gilneas. Her family (herself, her parents, and a baby brother) was never well off financially, but they were always close-knit and loved each other dearly. She was always a very kind, down-to-earth country girl who made for a very beautiful human. One night, she woke up to hear her brother screaming and rushed to the family barn to find him pinned in a corner by a rabid worgen. She grabbed a pitchfork and fended the beast off, but not without getting bitten herself. The change devastated her. She thought she looked like a monster, and she couldn’t even go into town without the people she used to call friends and neighbors being terrified of her appearance. When the Forsaken invaded Gilneas, the curse she hated so much wound up saving her. In the middle of the night, a band of undead ransacked her home and killed her parents and brother. They took Whitnee captive in hopes of either experimenting on her or turning her into a slave. She was put into a cage like an animal and hauled off to Silverpine Forest, where Constantyne eventually found and rescued her. I still haven’t thought up their story past that point, but I feel good at least having Whitnee’s more solidified.

To a lesser extent, I have also very loosely thought about their third and (probably) final child, the one who will tame wolves in honor of his/her mother. I’m not sure whether it will be a boy or a girl, or exactly what race it will be. Since Costin and Bastienne are both blood elves, I was thinking either a human or a worgen. I think a human might make more since – the worgen curse seems to kind of be like a disease, so I’m not sure if it would genetically pass or not.

That's what I am thinking, too! And it's perfect because so many wolves are found in the surrounding human starting areas, so it will make his/her stable very easy to kick off - they will even start with a wolf! I think I will portray it as one of Whitney's puppies Thank you so much for your kind words, it thrills me that people take any sort of joy from my ramblings!

Well, in my continuing boredom I have been brainstorming possible names for Costin's pets, to suit his prideful theme. As I stated before, Costin is very in touch with the elven side of his family and takes great pride in his heritage. By the time he is born, the now-death knight Bastien has been reunited with the family and Costin grows up listening to all of his stories of war and heroics. He's definitely got a bit of an ego, which gets him into trouble frequently. He often bites off more than he can chew.

Anyway, I initially wanted a stable of Thalassian names to match the sin'dorei-colored pets, but I just couldn't come across that many words that would make suitable names. So I decided to go another route and find a list of words that kind of stir up thoughts of honor and pride. Here's what I have so far:

Oh, I love those ideas GormanGhaste – especially Duty, that just seems so fitting!

As for the seven deadly sins, I’ve already got Pride which is the most fitting, but I could see an Envy fitting in very well too. Thanks so much for the ideas guys
