Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
Some valid points from that one Hunter. Will Blizzard listen for a change ? Time will tell I guess.
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
Given the volume of complaints about the changes on the PTR forums, DPS forums, and No Blues Land (hunter forum), and lack of response unless it's copypasta'd...not holding my breath. :\
This whole thing has become so blown out of proportion that people are now accusing Blizzard of a conspiracy to lower the numbers of active hunters.

well, HELL! why don't they make "hunters only" servers then?

That would be one way of doing it. If that is was their goal, it will likely work.Nevish wrote:Given the volume of complaints about the changes on the PTR forums, DPS forums, and No Blues Land (hunter forum), and lack of response unless it's copypasta'd...not holding my breath. :\

I'm sorry but thinking there is a "conspiracy to lower the numbers of active hunters" is just down right silly. I'm being nice and saying silly when really I mean another s word........

They haven't been known to do that, but that have buffed underrepresented classes (rogues and locks).Nevish wrote:Given the volume of complaints about the changes on the PTR forums, DPS forums, and No Blues Land (hunter forum), and lack of response unless it's copypasta'd...not holding my breath. :\

What I fear is that they don't have a good plan, and will leave us half-baked.
But some of the worst feedback comes from hunters, there have been plenty of posts by MM loyalists that want to see BM taken down. There are also the ones that call for nerfs to spells before numbers on other stuff is done. The recent Arcane buff will probably be nerfed thanks to one SV hunter that got a blue response.
We are are own worst enemy.

It's the second thread. The first one at least got Lore to respond, but all it amounted to was "I'll pass it along to the devs."Nevish wrote:Given the volume of complaints about the changes on the PTR forums, DPS forums, and No Blues Land (hunter forum), and lack of response unless it's copypasta'd...not holding my breath. :\

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with that statement.Slickrock wrote: They haven't been known to do that, but that have buffed underrepresented classes (rogues and locks).

What we need more than anything is a stable, united front working for fair balance on all specs, without showing specific burning biases for one particular spec/play style. MM is in dire need of a buff, Stampede needed tweaking, and BM needed some workarounds so it wasn't burst heavy while still keeping the aesthetics of the spec style (and without reducing our exotic pets to cosmetic accessories). But as it's been stated before, none of the devs seem to understand the hunter class or just simply don't devote the attention to it that it really needs. It's easier to hotfix and drown out the shouts of discontent.
Which is distressing when we're constantly nerfed without major recompense. It's not so much rolling with the punches anymore - I think that playing the hunter class is a lesson in learning to suck up the bad times - but being made to feel unwanted and inferior while other classes continue to chug along. That's not a good way to treat a player base.
Bullettime has been pretty awesome with presenting data while remaining polite and on-point. A Part II thread to follow that up has started up, with crosslinks to the European hunter forums, where there's some pretty eloquent posting on the issues at hand: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/9377368613Ickabob wrote: It's the second thread. It's pretty much just angry shouting by hunters who hit critical mass frustration levels. Throwing down ten gold that Daily Blink will have a comic making fun of this debacle in a few more days.cowmuflage wrote:I'm sorry but thinking there is a "conspiracy to lower the numbers of active hunters" is just down right silly. Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
Well they are already working on the next expansion. 5.4 from what I understand is going to be the last major patch of this expansion. I guess it's a waiting game to see what they do or not do.

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
They ever so carefully hinted that they might do a 5.5, but it won't have a raid.AdamSavage wrote:Well they are already working on the next expansion. 5.4 from what I understand is going to be the last major patch of this expansion. I guess it's a waiting game to see what they do or not do.
As to the DailyBlink. He's on long-term hiatus.

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
I see the hint now.. I asked Nethaera if there would be a 5.5 and she said she couldn't tell me. So it's possible. That wasn't a flat out No, but not a yes either.Slickrock wrote:They ever so carefully hinted that they might do a 5.5, but it won't have a raid.

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
It was also mentioned in the recent dev interviews that it was not decided yet, which is more than they ever allowed for before.

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
If they do a 5.5, I hope it is a transitional patch that introduces story and set up for the next expansion, more so than a filler patch to keep people occupied and satiated.
Edit: As for the topic of the nerfs, the Readiness nerf worries me, but Lore said there are compensations for PVE dps loss in the works so I want to reserve judgment until I see what they have schemed. It is going to really stick it to our burst though...

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
It would be nice to see it as an event based patch, especially if the burning legion attacks. I don't like the way it happened for Cata, "wake up and the world is destroyed". You really didn't see the Cata event unless you did the Worgen starting zone.

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
And then you didn't see the last 45% of the worgen story unless you rolled a Forsaken (or some other horde you rolled through their zone.)
Nevermind what story there was, was basically a boot to the nards for the Alliance. Again.
If they do a story patch, I'd like it to bloody well not be so biased. I had grand hopes for Mists based on the first couple of patches and the trailer and whatnot but oh no, end of the expac, Horde gets all the story and fun things to do, Alliance gets patted on the head and told if they're good they can tag along.
Jaina's ALMOST to the point where she's a decent character, but she's still overshadowed by the Horde.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

I feel like the faction war is always going to continue for the sake of the gameplay, but it would definitely be nice to have a transitional patch that puts an epilogue on MoP so we can focus on the next, and hopefully better, expansion.

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
Per the MoP story...
I'm not sure how the Horde warchief ending up being the this hellbent tyrant is "fun stuff." I am quite ashamed of the attention we Horde are getting due to Garrosh's actions. This attention the Horde is getting is not glorious, its shameful. The fact Garrosh is still being equated with the Horde is a testament to this very shame. Jaina is being overshadowed by Garrosh, not the Horde, but the fact not many are making that distinction, again, testifies to the shame the Horde is being smitten with thanks to Garrosh.
What glory (or fun) is there in attention being brought to such dishonor? If this is the kind of attention the Alliance wants for their story, you can have it. Who wants the spotlight when its only illuminating your most contemptible and disgraceful parts? Let one of your revered leaders show his true and disgraceful self, let him terrorize across a new land, let him mar a continent with his own arrogance, dragging an innocent people down with him. Let his crimes be the whispers of every back alley, but if you want attention of this cost, you must also bear the reproach he brings on you for waving the banner of the golden lion.
Just please don't act like MoP favors the horde when we are the object of shame of disgrace by one lunatic's actions. Despite the common mantra, not all publicity is indeed good.

Re: More nerfs... and other changes.
How about we just give the devs hell so that we don't have to have some crappy band-aid compensation. Better to fix things now (while we still have a chance) then to wait for things to get bad and be (half assed) fixed later.Nevish wrote:I demand a pony for nerf recompensation in 5.5.
