[13202] New tameable lion (Alliance guild mount style)

I know this must have been mentioned by now but they should do every lion in the game like this. Like maybe just the rare spawns at least; like humar and Echyeeyake . It would be nice because the lions right now are pretty ungraphical and don't look as realistic as they could make them look considering how this new lion skin looks. They could do better and I think they should.

If every lion was done like that, I think they'd look extremely out of place next to the other beasts they spawn with, such as the lionesses. It's a completely different style of appearance to regular mobs in the game.

I would NOT want that... I like the current lions. Much better than this model in fact, and if they made named lions like this then I'd lose my Humar!

*nod* I don't care for this new Lion model at all, the head bothers me. The original lion models have their own charm, so rather than outright replacing them I think a better idea would be to add Black and White versions of the new lion alongside the others so that people have a choice. (and I don't mean literally beside the old models, just have them available in other places xD)

Wow, rare spawn #3. I speculated about this one in another thread, but I got the zone wrong:

Wandering the Twilight Highlands is a rare spawn level 85 lion called Sambas. He uses the new lion model that the Alliance guild mount and several lions in Uldum use (which is why I thought they might place a tameable one in Uldum). He's very pretty, even though it does look like he just had a perm

The location I found him on the map is here (basically due east of the Horde outpost called The Gullet):

UPDATE: found him at another spawn point, this time in the north-east of TH:

I also found him just before I ran into Karoma (new rare spirit beast wolf), so they don't share a spawn timer.

Was able to tame Sambas at the newest location, PRECISELY where Wain said Sambas would be.
This is on Lost Isles at 7:30 AM, server/PT.

This makes me want to bring back my old lion Bonecutter! Oh my gods I love that model without the armor/guild stuff on it. Simply Drool worthy! All that nice texture work.

Now I wonder how many people would tame him and name him Simba, Scar or Mufasa XD

While I'm not terribly keen on this model after looking at it in motion, I will have to tame him just once, on one of my hunters. (probably Ikult, my main Horde). He will be named Goldie, as a tribute to my first cat I had when I was 8yrs old. Goldie was an orange tabby, and the epitome of a "cat"- snobbish, remembered slights, bit and clawed; yet could be as gentle and loving whenever he felt you deserved it. The strong, proud look of this lion immediately reminded me of Goldie's attitude... I've decided I'll have to get him, just once.

I know what Color Scar was, he was a Darker 'red' Lion with a Black mane he wasn't completely Black And while he was mean, he was a brilliant Disney Villain and I adored him for that fact. He was a plotter, and while a Coward he got things done.

Just because he looks 'different' from this lion, it won't likely stop hunters from naming him the name just because he's a Lion XD I remember awhile back when I tamed Rak'shiri and named her Long after the Tiger character from Bloody Roar, he was a White Tiger or a Orange Tiger yet I named a Aqua Tiger after him. And then... in Vanilla back when I first tamed him a Dwarf Hunter tamed one of the Pridewatchers and named him Shen-Long XD ah the good times... I still have my Beloved Long as well. I kept him since level 57 <3

And I totally Agree... We have Lions, Boars... now we just need Meerkat's to complete the collection! That'd just be brilliant lol

LMAO! Oh gods that'd be a great name... too bad the Closest we get to a Meerkat is those creepy little Prairie Dogs that haunt me by showing up and getting killed randomly while I'm trying to get that darn Achievement... Stupid Hyena's >_>

It would be interesting to see this model in Different colors [White and Black perhaps] but not in the sense that it would replace Humar, Echeyakee or Sian'rotam but for a way to where they can be in either a Higher level area as a Rare Spawn or just for that Extra Option to those that do not like the new Lion Models per-say.

Personally, I love BOTH This Model [for it's quality, and just how it looks like that 'realistic' lion] and the Old models [Who doesn't love a Saber-toothed Lion <3] and wouldn't say Replace ALL of the Lions in game with this new one, just utilize it in a manner where people can get what they want and perhaps... if you would 'choose' the model they wish.
