This is adorable. Who knew basilisks were mammals? ;) Or at least some sort of reptilian analog of one.

This picture doesn't capture it all that well, but this is the Canyon Icemother feeding her pups. Their tails all wag as they drink:

Image

Apparently she really does express something like milk:

(none are currently tameable btw).

Now I'm thinking of it.. Hydras, Chimeras, Boars, Sporebats and Ravagers have new models and look a bit more primal.. and less stunted. Probably because they were more healthy back then, as opposed to in the current day Outland, as a result of the fel magics.

But we also have some other species. More notably: Nether Rays and Warp Stalkers and Basilisk. If Blizzard is going to let most beasts have a more primal and pure comeback, then it's possible that we will see those too. Nether Rays may look fairly like they do today. Perhaps much like how Sporebats barely changed, Warp Stalkers may have lost their spikes and look more like lizards (which would be cool! We have a sore lack of normal lizards!), and less demonic. Lastly, Basilisks could have changed a lot. They look very misshapen and altered. So I believe that if those get a new model, they may be as different as Thunder Hydras and Outland Hydras are to each other. Except perhaps the dramatic posture change.

I hope Blizzard does that. Especially the Warp Stalker. Like I said: we have a sore lack of traditional lizards, and they are cool creatures, so I hope to see them.

I also hope they do something with that Tallstrider concept that was shown off. The primal tallstriders. While we have Cranes, Tallstriders could use some love. I think I would use one if it had a more updated model, too!

It's quite possible. Surprisingly I've seen not a single reference to a nether ray anywhere. Perhaps they're meant to have come through from the nether after the world shattered?

I have come across sandreavers now, but they're critters not beasts. They look really good like that, actually, so hopefully we'll be able to obtain them as minipets if nothing else.

Post some pets then =P =D

The MoP Quillen bosses are kinda useless as you can just go after Portent for those models., But I am sure they are tameable.

Let's see what else to check when the squish goes through all the way...

The working list is here: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic ... 7#existing

All but two are not new looks, but they needed to be confirmed for Petopia anyway :) Just those Vaults ones left to confirm now. They'll need to wait until the player level is lifted to 93.

Now those would be interesting, especially if they kept the armor appearance!

The only problem is, once people can solo them you'll never ever see them. It'll be Kazzak all over again... all through BC, there he was, yelling, stomping people that tried to steal his flower... and now? I don't think I've seen him up for four years at least.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

I've checked a few Zandalari armoured devilsaurs and dire horns, but none are tameable, at least not yet.

I haven't checked Horridon, of course, but there's a brown armoured one that randomly appears amongst the trolls attacking the Shado Pan Assault cave on Isle of Thunder.

Those armoured forms really would be perfect for pets. They're not even saddled, just armoured.

Well, armor is part of both Horridon's and Oondastas' models, so IF they end up tamable, they will keep the armor. I personaly would also like to see those Dark Shaman wolves if Blizzard becomes more acceptive with armored models.

But before I derail this threat too much into armor pets, could I request pictures and commentary (too big or small, do animations work correctly) about new boars?

I guess it's all subjective, but the new boars seem just the right size to me, and their animations are fine :)

In the only zone open so far (Frostfire) the silver ones are easy to come by. There are packs of them roaming the frozen wastes:

Image

And here's a pic of one tamed. Ignore the tauren's face. I transferred my live toon over and apparently his facial textures don't translate properly yet. It was so cold his face froze and fell off.

Image

There's also a bunch of these Pack Boars used by ogres. When tamed their packs vanish. I haven't seen any tameable armoured pigs about.

The silithid ravagers (siliravagers? ravathids? savagers?) stand a little bit taller than a tauren, but are still quite a decent size.

You run into some very soon after you start in Frostfire, but I think they permanently phase out once your garrison is built. Fortunately there are also these Icespine Stingers not too far away.

While I really appreciate it, I couldn't help but notice that you forgot to put one post by me on the previous page there. It's still lounging comfortably in this thread. Just saying. It's off-topic and probably causes a disconnect so it would probably be best if it was moved as well! :)

On-topic: That boar in the tamed picture looks very sassy. I like it. I know it's strange to give those attributes to ingame models, but the angle gives it that look.

And I would love it if Oondasta and Horridon's models were made tameable. Especially Oondasta. Imagine letting that loose in a BG. It may not be at large, but if you give it a similar name/same name, and they see the model? Ha-ha-ha. But yeah, I hope Blizzard becomes less and less conservative. So many cool models that would be great if they were tameable.

EDIT:

Any pic of these ravagers, even if they don't yet have the right skeleton, is cool. They are quite large as well! Larger than silithids? I dunno. Seems that way. Could just be because there is more detail to them, though.
