Re: Thread of Accomplishments

Months and months ago I began a mission to hit Exalted with the Skyguard. I started from basically nothing, and worked all the way up to Revered. Once I hit Revered my motivation died and I abandoned the idea.

A few days ago, going out of my mind with Cataclysm anticipation and boredom with nothing to do in game, I decided to try working on it again. I did the dailies, killed some Arakkoa...it wasn't too bad, and I figured I could hit Exalted before Cataclysm if I just did my dailies without fail.

Then this morning I was struck with some sort of ravaging need to finish the rep grind. I was so close! To hell with dailies, I'll just kill things!!

And so I did. Since this morning I've been grinding the mobs in Skettis, handing in Shadow Dust, collecting scrolls, summoning the minibosses, and killing Terokk. I was on autopilot, just repeating this cycle for hours. Finally I did it.

Exalted with the Skyguard! And 20 Exalted Reputations too. ^_^

I finally have my adorable baby Nether ray who matches Vorpal, and the mount too of course. :D I'm so happy and relieved and accomplished feeling, haha! Will edit with screenies after I catch my breath. xD

Very awesome Veph :D That grind is a pain in the ass, but so worth it later. I almost never see people with Nether Ray mounts.

KYAAAAA, finally got the Needle Encrusted Scorpion!!! I've been trying to get this thing on Silinrul for SO LONG and I've never even seen it drop.

This time it did, and not only did I see it, I got it. Finally, my last green item is gone! Whoo!

On top of that, the group I ran with was very nice. We went on to Pit of Saron afterwards and although I messed up the last fight and initially caused a wipe (forgot to stop DPSing during Brand...it's been a while since I did that fight X_X ) they were very forgiving. I read up on the fight again and we downed him with no problems the second time.

All in all, a successful day :D

Finally got Heroic LK down. 10man, but still. Im officially done with WotLK, and cant wait for Cataclysm.

EDIT: Oh, and instead of posting twice, i'll just edit this in.

Also Finished the Scepter of the Shifting Sands yesterday, and it is by far the best chain in WoW. Hate to see it go.

My living situation has been worked out, so I actually have a stable roof over my head with no uncertainties about the future. WHOO.

It also means I'll be able to get Cataclysm because I'll still have internet! WHOO!

I hit level 10 on my undead hunter today.

"Vel," you might say, "Vel, Vel, Vel, that's hardly an accomplishment. It's level 10 for crying out loud. You can do that in an hour or two."

To which I say, "Sure, under normal circumstances it's easy...but I'm an arachnophobic and was stuck with a spider following me around for 10 levels!!!!"

Inachus will be going deeeep into the stable now. He'll be well taken care of, but probably never used again. Why not abandon him? Well he's now a trophy pet to prove I actually DID it, so...yeah XD

Grats Veph!! Did you find the best strat was to simply just keep killing the mobs and doing the bosses?

*ndos* For sure. In the end I just grinded the mobs in Skettis to repeat the Shadow Dust/Scroll Bosses/Terokk, along with the rep that each individual kill got. It was the easiest way, aside from dailies.

That's exactly what I did too - kill mobs for shadow dust, get potions (flasks? elixirs?) and kill shadow mobs, get papers to kill bosses, get items to kill Terokk, rinse/repeat. Because of the relatively long cooldown on Terokk's respawn, I still had 11 shadow potions in my bank, which came in handy when I wanted to summon Gezz for the tame. :)

Oh neat :) So in theory would you level up faster with a friend with this? IE would a group all get the same REP? Or are there certain "quests" that would only award say 250 rep to whomever turned it in... etc?

The quests (like the shadow dust turn-in) is individual rep, but kills are shared. Also note that shadow dust is not soulbound but the elixir is.

My husband and I did the grind together, it definitely went faster that way. :)
