Speaking of hatching, I see most of you just fill boxes with eggs and then hatch them all. Is that the preferred way? I did it once. I filled my boxes with eggs for my plane ride. Maybe I'll have to do that. I haven't had any luck with the Masuda Method yet. Also, for breeding IV pokemon, how is the best way? If I have a 2 IV say.. Attack and HP, do I want to find someone with IVs in the other areas for best results? Is that how it works? I assumed it was and that's what I've been doing. I only use Pokemon that are superior and have no negative stats, but still get some random hatches that have negatives from it. Trying to get the calculations down so I get it.
Righty. I'm no expert on IV breeding, but the destiny bond helps greatly. Say you had a 6iv Sawsbuck (I'm hunting a Sawsbuck now, inspiration!) and a 6iv ditto. Attach a destiny bond to one of these and your babies are sure to have at least 5ivs. In XY the destiny bond will pass down 5, instead of 3 IV's, and so it's much easier to get a 6iv mon. Some people do prefer a 5iv mon though, as if it's got one in attack and it's a special attacker, foul play will mess things up. Anyway: together, your mons will have 12 perfect IV's. Your baby can get 5 of these. The last IV is randomised, and so it's more breeding if you want a 6iv.
Now. From the top. If you've got a 2iv Sawsbuck and a 2iv ditto, then still attack a destiny bond. However, check the parents. Once you get either a male or female with an extra IV, put them in. So now, for example, you've got a 3iv Sawsbuck and a 2iv ditto. Now you could get lucky and get a 5iv Deerling pop out. Perhaps not. It's RNG, and to save hassle I generally hunt down a 6iv pair and breed them to make babies, as I find it confusing >.< I probably haven't made sense. So, notes!
If you get a baby with more IV's than a parent, switch the two, and attach the destiny bond if needed.
In reply to your question, yes, it's best to get two parents with different IV's, as otherwise you'll be less likely to get the IV's you want

I'm pretty sure I've got a spare 6iv ditto somewhere, so if you'd like to borrow/keep him (as I ended up with two on my hands) then feel free to adopt him!
TL:dr? Don't blame you
Edit--I shall catch a female Sawsbuck with Serene Grace....my Gardevior felt demonic and killed the last one I found >.< one is off to grab heal balls, because it'll suit my future does flowers ^_^ silly XY...lacks seasons...hopefully they'll come back in ORAS.
Damn it you Sap Sipper you! Serene Grace is all I ask for -.-
