Speaking of hatching, I see most of you just fill boxes with eggs and then hatch them all. Is that the preferred way? I did it once. I filled my boxes with eggs for my plane ride. Maybe I'll have to do that. I haven't had any luck with the Masuda Method yet. Also, for breeding IV pokemon, how is the best way? If I have a 2 IV say.. Attack and HP, do I want to find someone with IVs in the other areas for best results? Is that how it works? I assumed it was and that's what I've been doing. I only use Pokemon that are superior and have no negative stats, but still get some random hatches that have negatives from it. Trying to get the calculations down so I get it.
But...posable reshirams wing aren't attached. It has to be a different reshiram plush.

Ill pm you, Snowy, about shipping the two once I get the Xerenas one

Righty. I'm no expert on IV breeding, but the destiny bond helps greatly. Say you had a 6iv Sawsbuck (I'm hunting a Sawsbuck now, inspiration!) and a 6iv ditto. Attach a destiny bond to one of these and your babies are sure to have at least 5ivs. In XY the destiny bond will pass down 5, instead of 3 IV's, and so it's much easier to get a 6iv mon. Some people do prefer a 5iv mon though, as if it's got one in attack and it's a special attacker, foul play will mess things up. Anyway: together, your mons will have 12 perfect IV's. Your baby can get 5 of these. The last IV is randomised, and so it's more breeding if you want a 6iv.

Now. From the top. If you've got a 2iv Sawsbuck and a 2iv ditto, then still attack a destiny bond. However, check the parents. Once you get either a male or female with an extra IV, put them in. So now, for example, you've got a 3iv Sawsbuck and a 2iv ditto. Now you could get lucky and get a 5iv Deerling pop out. Perhaps not. It's RNG, and to save hassle I generally hunt down a 6iv pair and breed them to make babies, as I find it confusing >.< I probably haven't made sense. So, notes!
If you get a baby with more IV's than a parent, switch the two, and attach the destiny bond if needed.

In reply to your question, yes, it's best to get two parents with different IV's, as otherwise you'll be less likely to get the IV's you want :) I'm pretty sure I've got a spare 6iv ditto somewhere, so if you'd like to borrow/keep him (as I ended up with two on my hands) then feel free to adopt him!

TL:dr? Don't blame you

Edit--I shall catch a female Sawsbuck with Serene Grace....my Gardevior felt demonic and killed the last one I found >.< one is off to grab heal balls, because it'll suit my future does flowers ^_^ silly XY...lacks seasons...hopefully they'll come back in ORAS.

Damn it you Sap Sipper you! Serene Grace is all I ask for -.-

How do you know how many IV's a pokemon has when you catch it?

There's a man in Kiluode city in the Pokémon center, close to the dress room. He'll tell you what a Pokémon has. For example, I get Orchid and take her to him, he'll say:
"This Pokémon has relatively superior potential overall. That's how I judge it anyway. Incidentally, I would say it's greatest potential lies in its Defense stat. Although it's Sp. Att is equally good. Stats like those-can't be beat." (Oh ew hasty nature, makes her fast but camels out that perfect IV in defence)
This means that she's got perfect IV's in defense and special attack. Now, if he says something like "that defense stat is awful" then it means, as he says, it's an awful stat. Can't remember the exact number of it though. Friend safaris will contain Pokémon that always have 2-3ivs and so it's good to get a pair for breeding there. Ha's are easier to find (especially with a Pokémon with trace) and so many people turn to these friend safaris for perfect iv breeding.

Queeeestion are you going to the center of Lumiose City and sticking a dime under the spinny-stick-control-whateveritis so you can sit back each batch and just click a couple times when an egg hatches/asks if you want to name the baby? Saves a loooooot of effort :3

Nope, just the stretch outside the pokemon daycare. I watch tv while hatching and keep an eye on my screen. If the screen isn't moving them an egg is hatching. Rinses, repeat, stop into daycare to release skrelp, get more eggs, ride back and forth.

I haz my Serene Grace Sawsbuck! I was getting worried I didn't have enough heal balls >.<

I prefer the daycare stretch. Then when I've hatched my five eggs, I've got another ready and waiting. Plus, I sometimes get eggs hatch when I'm waiting for more to pop out anyway. But if I have stacked some eggs, I'll go around Lumiose city. I'm just scared I'll ping the circle pad off with the coin >_> smash fans have already had that issue...

Edit--and the struggle of capturing Orchid, my female Sawsbuck, has give my inspiration! Sooo I've published a fanfic: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10737399/1/Springs-Blossom
Feel free to clicky clicky. I should get on with my other fanfic really...it's gathering so much dust >.<
Yes, first 'mon fanfic. No, I shouldn't be asleep. It's only...*sees clock* ahh...issues...

So many people hatching their shiny Poochyenas recently... I'm so tempted to skip a bunch of planned Pokemon and start hunting for mine... I have a name picked out for him and everything. Problem is I've become to set on what he's going to be like, his name, everything that I didn't stop to think... there's a 50% chance he'll be a female. :/ I don't think I could deal with that so, if it does hatch female, would anyone like to claim her? (Falcon gets first dibs. If she isn't interested, it's a free-for-all.)

Thanks, Kayro. That makes sense. That would also be why I haven't got a baby with more than 3 IVs yet. I'm loading my boxes with Eevee eggs, but I'm getting impatient and want to hatch them!

Also.. the guy I bought my Mega Lucario figure from is turning out to be a dick. I left feedback for him where I mentioned it was miss-shipped by USPS, then said it still arrived a day after estimate, and he's going all wtf defensive/aggressive on me. I sent him a PM to just let him know that it was not my intent to upset him, I was trying to say that it still arrived in a nice amount of time despite a miss ship and that it was a Positive feedback. He replied going all jerk mode on me saying all my feedback for people is complaining about shipping time or packaging and how I'm a nit picker never happy with anything. I have no idea where this guy is getting all this because out of all my feedback there is ONE I gave a Positive and did mention a suggestion of better packaging (surran wrapped in brown mailer figure) and ONE back from 2003 that I gave Neutral for taking a while to respond to emails and ship after payment (before Paypal). So I said I wish I could review my feedback for him, but this time leave one saying "Don't need to contact, great. Need to contact, rude."

Anywho, if you Ebay.. warning if you ever have to deal with richiewrld.

I really hate how Ebay is so reliant on Paypal now you never really need to contact these sellers, so they get all this great praise as sellers and the reality is they can be complete dicks.. but you never have to deal directly with them to find it out. I guess it's nice in that sense.. but horrible if you have to deal with them for whatever reason.

Oh! I figured out my problem with trying to get the Mega Stones around the world. I had my game time set wrong. I didn't realize it's 24hour clock... it's fixed now! Will need help later to transfer my Houndoomite!

Edit:
*sigh* I managed to get my Houndoomite.. but my battery died and my charger isn't working because one or more of my cats chewed completely through it.... Not the cell phone charger that I have backups for. My 3DS cord.

Edit again
managed to get it working. Anyone available to help me trade from Y to X?

I can help once I get back from school, if you still need it. In around...9 hours...damn that makes the school day seem so long ._. I reckon you'll find someone by then, anyway.

I'm hopeless...there's a load of eggs in my box and I've no idea what's in them. I don't want to hatch them either...ugh. Probably a Fennekin or two, some Eevee, some Aron, a few Vulpix and a load of. Poochyena. Wonderful.

Awesome, Snowy!

I also prefer to use route 7 since the Day-Care is right there for easy access to both a PC and to pick up more eggs. Also, I tried the Lumiose Square method once and didn't like it. I prefer seeing beautiful scenery and going back and forth as opposed to going in a circle and seeing the same thing over and over.

I'm leveling yet another Lopunny. Thanks to Aleu trading me a female one in a heal ball, I finally have the matching ball I wanted for my shiny one (if it ever fucking decides to hatch), but I wasn't able to get the hidden ability to transfer over to any of the babies when I bred her with one of my male ones who has the hidden ability (Limber), so I said screw it and just worked on what egg moves I wanted, settling on Sky Uppercut, Fake Out, Ice Punch, and Fire Punch, though I may end up dropping Fake Out on my shiny for Jump Kick. So, if my shiny ends up with Klutz, so be it, and I'll hope that it won't effect its ability to mega evolve come ORAS, but, the female I'm leveling has Run Away (well, Cute Charm since she's a Lopunny now) and I'm hoping most of the babies will end up with Run Away instead of Klutz.

Also, does anyone know how the Cute Charm method of shiny hunting works exactly? While leveling my Lopunny in Chimera's boyfriend's friend safari last night, my male Skitty's Cute Charm was working as intended, and most of what I ran into was female (none of the tons of female Eevees I ran into were shiny, go figure...) but when he leveled into the high 40s, everything I ran into started being male, which was really weird. So, I'm guessing the Cute Charm method only works for a certain level range in regards to where you choose to hunt at? I wanted to ask before I set to breeding for another male Skitty.

I see everyone's making they're ORAS teams :) I suck at hunting shinies, and I prefer my main team to be Pokémon I catch while I'm playing (Pepper is an exception, but Poochyenas are caught at the beginning of the game anyway so it's ok in my mind lol)
I have been planning my team though. This is what I have so far. Still unsure on who my last two should be
(Mega) Sceptile (Of course!)
Mighyena (Pepper <3)
Breloom (I know! a second grass type! but I love Breloom)
Seviper/Zangoose (I'm not sure which one's in which game lol)

@Jurz: Zangoose should be in OR and Seviper in AS since Zangoose was a Ruby exclusive and Seviper was exclusive to Sapphire (but then it could also be found in Emerald when that came out). :)

The only way a male can pass on the hidden ability is if he's breeding with a ditto*, otherwise you need the female to have it in order for the offspring to get it. Apparently the male also has a lower chance of passing it on then a female would.

*This also has to be in X/Y to happen.

That's what I figured, so I just said fuck it. And I'm breeding on X/Y. I'd much rather have a shiny Buneary/Lopunny in a matching ball than one that has the hidden ability but that's in a boring old poke ball.
