Clever! Wonder if we can somehow come by one of those on the alpha...Xota wrote:I expect you're 100% right about which skin is used for the shaman's wolf form. There is a way to test conclusively. If you use a potion of illusion targeting a player with a "shimmery" effect like the sky-mirror and that wolf form, then the second player will have the same model and skin, but without the shimmery effect. (I think. A guildie did that to me when I was a pink-yaungol and they ended up normal skinned).

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
If you can still roll premades when the servers come back up (or one of you has a mage already) and the glyphtaur is around this round, mages have/had? a minor glyph (Glyph of Illusion) that works the same way, albeit with a somewhat-annoying 10 minute cooldown.
The potion itself isn't that difficult to make (3 volatile life, 1 azshara's veil, and a vial) if you have or can find an alchemist and an herbalist, but I suspect that a mage would be faster. I'd totally make them for you if I were in the alpha :(

I just saw that too, and I was checking the "Worm Lover" thread to see if anyone had mentioned gyreworm possibility there. I hope they make it for all the elemental pet lovers out there.Qraljar wrote:Could be that I just missed it and everyone else knows, but..

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
I would adore one as a pet. I've loved them Since I first saw them.
If we can tame a skeleton bird, undead pig, diseased bears and wolves, and a lot of weird ghost pets.
What's the problem with a charhound?
And don't forget Shannox. he has two as a pet. lol
Besides, they're not demons. Some are beasts (Kor'kron Flameworg) some are elemental (Charhound). That means if any class got them as a pet it would probably be shaman

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
I'd like them to go to someone besides a hunter. We're very spoiled when it comes to pets and they look more warlocky to me. We're not the only pet class anymore. We're just the only ones that can tame stuff. We need to consider Warlocks, Mages, and Shamans as they have pets too.

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
That's a pretty blanket statement tbh ;(
I'm hunter And I am certainly not selfish
I would be happy to roll a lock or shaman if they had those as a pet and not cry because I can't have it on a hunter s:

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
It's not. It's a fact. I didn't call you or anyone selfish so I'm not sure where that even came from. I just said hunters, as in the class not you the person, are spoiled when it comes to having so many pets to choose from. It would be nice if stuff like the charr hounds went to one of the other pet classes.Scarlet wrote:That's a pretty blanket statement tbh ;(

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Yeah, difference in understanding of wording. "Spoiled" as in the devs (Muffinus/Noah in particular) have been very generous to us, not spoiled as in selfish
That being said, I would love to see hellhounds tameable. I know they look warlocky, and there are demonic ones in at least one location in the new expansion, but the skeletal look is mostly because their bodies are transparent and made of fiery life force, so you can see the stone skeleton underneath. I actually wouldn't mind if they went to multiple classes, especially since at this stage they wouldn't be the one iconic pet for any class anyway (unlike Xuen and monks!) They'd make a great alternative/option to spirit wolves for shaman, but they'd also make a cool exotic for hunters. Hunters can already tame a spirit wolf and even though my main is a shammy I honestly have no problem with that.

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
IN MY OPINION, shamans do not technically count as having pets. They are only able to spawn the spirit wolves to temporarily fights with them.
Mages. Eh. The only thing they can summon is a water elemental.
Warlocks are the only other class other than hunters that I feel could be considered a "pet" class even though none of the summoned are animals and they cannot "tame" anything.
I agree hunters are spoiled with the amount of beasts we've been given. But the Kor'kron Flameworgs could certainly fall into line with the undead pets hunters already have IF Blizzard wanted to go that route.
Yes they could be worked into a lock's summoned demons. I could see that. I'd be bitter because my hunter couldn't it (I've not qualms in admitting I am a little selfish in some things) but yes I could see only that class getting a new demon being added to their summoning list.

Yeah, I'm still really keen on the hellhounds, mostly because Shannox made them such a hunterish thing. (also their models are awesome).
